Not sure if it's a bug of 1.3 or a bug of this or possibly a bug of 1.3 and this combined. I went to the nether and when I came back, a couple of signs were erased.
It's most likely a bug with 1.3, because this doesn't do anything the game doesn't do already. I'll test it without the mod.

Wasn't able to reproduce that bug with or without the mod.-

How the hell did you get that to happen?
Was anyone around when I did my (failed) 12 hour livestream of various challenge maps and then a small bout of SMP? I'm thinking of doing it again tomorrow night. but not failing this time. If anyone could show me a couple of good (long) adventure/survival maps that'd be cool.

unfortunately you can no longer place signs on other signs anymore, which is quite useful.
Hey, anyone using Hawkeye (server plugin,) how do i rollback a map to its state when it was first used? I like playing some minigame maps now and then, but they blow up, (its what there supposed to do). But what command do i use that rolls it back to when it was FIRST used?
Hey guys, I just started to play Tekkit. Has Tekkit already disabled creepers?
Is it possible to get,

these little poles to extend up so it looks more like a gate?
I'd like it like that so it's easier to see. Right now, I have to use the normal fences like above to remind me where the fence is located.
I don't play for one night and this is what I come back to.

I can try. Shouldn't be too hard.
Now I'm starting to wish for a more advanced magicry system. One that can be bypassed to win easily, but makes it easier to learn even more. Suppose you bake some raw Stone. Put a stack into the Enchantment table. Except this time, the SGA doesn't translate to Gibberish. This can encourage the "learning" of a "second language" like all magic scholars have to do with the tongue of old. You get Magic Rocks of sorts when you enchant them, with level boosters and elements. You combine elemental and level Magic Rocks to create a spell. Right-click to use such spell, whether it be Magic Missle or Regeneration.
"Ire Rock" - Fire elemental
"Arth Rock" - Earth elemental
"Ind Rock" - Wind Elemental
"Ater Rock" - Water Elemental
"Eart Rock" - Heart Elemental
(Named removing first letter of element and to sound "mystical.")
Okay, so maybe Heart isn't a real element, but look back to your childhood days back to Captain Planet. Sounds like the sort of reference a sneaky developer would do. The elemental Magic Rocks are the usual four elements, but Heart is just a curative one involving the body. Level Rocks are the rocks that give spells their power levels and can only go up to level five. Level three would be a very common upper level, giving the illusion of three levels of power for the weak-minded.
Don't think we're done with a level and an element. Infusing special items to these Magic Rocks can bring even more power, but with consequences. For simplicity's sake, let's keep it in a 2x2 crafting matrix for now with 3x3 for even more complicated spells. Say we want a little more oomph to a Flare Missle spell. Before fusing it into a Flare Missle Magic Rock, let's add a Blaze Powder and a Coal/Charcoal to the ingredients. Boom! We now have a more potent Flare Missle spell. This one needs to be handled with care. For example, this spell will immediately trigger a creeper's explosion upon impact due to their volatileness.
For sprite reduction, how about keeping spells based on the element to the same sprite (Magic Rock based on spell's element). Flare Missle would use the Ire Rock's sprite with an enchanted glow.
Or even a small, very basic scripting language to trigger events. We can call these Magic Words.

This'd also solve "floating" fencegates.

I had an interesting idea for an adventure map easter egg thing. If you've got something SUPER SECRET you want to hide, turn a block with transparencies completely invisible (like glass) and make an invisible jumping puzzle or staircase or something up to an area that looks like it can be reached by the player with enough effort. Like, take a big open area and then scatter a bunch of invisible blocks around. Then, like, put a sign up there that says "You were expecting, what, an easter egg?" I love shit like that in games, stuff that players would basically NEVER find without cheating or being told about it.
I really wanna do that now.
I hate not being able to use slabs as a roof, or to stop water from dripping, because of lighting issues.
The weird lighting issues (at least the ones with the random black areas) are supposedly being fixed in 1.4.
We are currently working on two different tasks: first to patch 1.3.1 to fix the most serious bugs, and secondly on 1.4. The patch will be released as 1.3.2, and will not include any new features. This snapshot (12w32a), however, is a part of our 1.4 development, so it has some new features (confusing, eh?):
Villagers will now react positively on new trades, and negatively if you hurt them
Villagers will not remove trades, but trading something else may be required to renew the old ones
Zombies and Skeletons have new equipment, depending on difficulty
There’s a new kind of Zombie, too
Added the “Command Block” intended for adventure maps. It’s not craftable and not in the menu, but its id is 137
A suprise block! This block is still work in progress, but will get a crafting recipe later on
*suggestions of magic*
Aye; some more practical magic would be kinda neat. Currently there's Enchanting, Brewing and building Portals to the Nether, though some more "natural" magic could be cool.
Also, experience is pretty much Souls or similar magic; killing creatures yields Souls, mining Coal yields the compressed souls of ancient plant-life, the various Gems (Redstone, Lapis, Diamond, Emerald) yields souls from the crystals, and the fires of smelting squeezes the natural souls from whatever is being smelted.
Back to "natural magicks", i'd say that most of the magic should be like rituals, bound by the stars and phases of the moon, and there should be other "uncommon gems" that're used in the rituals, like amethyst, topaz, onyx, etc. Often times in Minecraft I look up to the sky and wish that the stars and moon had some kinda purpose, like at certain times of the in-game month certain constellations have power, or the moon defining the power of certain rituals. Also, the Moon shouldn't strictly appear at night, but instead be on its own cycle that means it can appear during the day and on occasion eclipse the sun for a short while.
Having actual spells to execute on the fly might work; however I believe they should tie in to my earlier suggestion of Minecraft's overarching story being sort of a fusion of Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, wherein defeating the Enderdragon isn't the "end", but is instead the true beginning of the game; thus the true Minecraft begins as you search for the Boss Monsters across the planar cosmos. After the player passes through the End Portal in the Stronghold of the Twilit Brotherhood, they defeat the Enderdragon, and once they claim the Egg and head through the Portal, they are approached by The Voices of the Heart, the extradimensional speakers in the credits. However, instead of telling a pretentious story about the nature of reality, the Colours speak of how "The Man is becoming as They are" and how "the True Words will become known to him", adding that "the fruit of his fallen adversary holds the key". Once back in the Overworld, things have changed; Red Dragons now have a chance to spawn, and the player will be able to create Focuses, items that harness the power of the True Words, and using said Focuses will allow them to use Techniques of Power (special ability based around Power). However, the player doesn't have the right energy for these new ways, which is where the Enderdragon Egg comes in; it must be cooked and eaten to add the first two Words to their Power, the Words in question being Void and Sound.
The way Icons work is that each Technique requires a certain Word to power it; the Sonic Parry Technique requires Sound to execute (and a Dragon Buckler), whilst the Hearthway Technique requires Void and the Hearthstone. With each Boss slain, new Words become Known to the player, though Knowing is not enough; by consuming the Power of creatures that possess Power, the power of the Words become stronger. When the Enderdragon was slain, the player learned the Words of Sound and Void from the souls within the beast, being that the Enderdragon was both Enderkind, a creature of Void; and a Dragon, a creature of Sound; the Egg was a manifestation of the Power torn from its spirit upon death. The Egg is not the only source of Void and Sound, however; combining the remains of certain mobs with an Egg will yield an Egg of Power, which when cooked and consumed amplifies the power of its associated Word by a single level. For example, combining 8 Ender Pearls with an Egg yields an Ender Egg, which grants +1 to Void Power when cooked and eaten, essentially giving the Word an extra two "uses" before it needs to recharge, up to Level 5. The same works with Dragon Scales and Blaze Powder; the resultant Eggs grant +1 to Sound and Light respectively. If the player is killed, all Words reset to Level 0, so make sure you have enough Power Eggs in reserve in case of death.
The various elements mostly aren't your average fantasy fare, as you can see; the elements are more like primal aspects of the universe, rather than the familiar energies of the mortal world, though some elemental combinations do yield things very much similar to what is found in nature.
Void: The essence of the Ender Planes, the Power of Void revolves around dimensional movement, such as the short-range teleport of the Blink Dagger, or the homeward escape of the Hearthstone.
Sound: The essence of the Draconic Symphony, the Power of Sound revolves around physical force and motion, such as the vicious knockback of the Dragon Buckler, or the power of flight granted by the Icarian Cuirass.
Light: The essence of the Blazing Netherworld, the Power of Light revolves around radiation both seen and felt, like the scorching heat of the Primal Flame, or the blinding glory of the Shining Stone.
Storm: The essence of the Sparking Wheel, the Power of Storm revolves around electricity both natural and artificial, such as the flowing energies of Redstone, or the crackling lightning of the Fulminaric Strike.
Soul: The essence of True Life, the Power of Soul is the parchment upon which the story of reality writes itself; nearly every element, save for Heart, is a divergent mutation of Soul, though nonetheless even Heartborn creatures possess Souls within them. Examples of Soul's power includes the power of Enchanting, wherein Soul is known to give life to inanimate objects, though not all living things can move; Necrourgy is also linked to the power of Soul, and most Necroborn creatures are what happens when the Matter of deceased Heartborn creatures is animated by Soul.
Heart: The essence of the Everbeating Heart, upon which the Overworld was built, the Power of Heart is similar to Spirit yet is thoroughly distinct; whilst Spirit knows itself and brings life to matter, Heart does not know itself and only brought life to matter through a dance with Storm. Even then, it can only sustain itself through chemical reactions within the bodies of Heartborn creatures. Most Soulborn entities instinctively fear the time when Heartborn creatures begin to know themselves, and thus it is not uncommon for Soulborn entities to attack sapient Heartborns, such as Pigmen, Testificates, and most importantly The Man; a Heartborn who not only knows itself, but also its world and the worlds beyond.
Matter: The essence of True Form, the Power of Matter is the manifestation of the building blocks that make up the universe; Stone, Water, Air, Metal, Crystal, all these things are of Matter in some form of another. Everything that is built is the assembly of Matter, and when Soul joins with Matter, Life is born. All living things, be they of Heart or Soul, are made of Matter; even The Man is of Matter, and it knows Matter with an intimacy far greater than any Pigman or Testificate could hope to achieve.
In conclusion, practical magics should tie into the player's ongoing quest to know the other worlds and gain the Power of the True Words, with the quest truly starting when the player slays the Enderdragon and learns the Words of Void and Sound. The Man lived in the Overworld, and soon traveled to the place of primeval Light known as the Nether; by combining the remains of those born of Light with the remains of those born of Void, he obtained the essence of Sight, with which he sought out the Stronghold of those who held back the intrusion of Void, and opened the lock on that rift to combat the Enderdragon in that strange Requiem where the sky sung and made the Void resonate. When the beast lay dead, The Man learned the truth of Void and Sound, and would soon return to the Netherworld in search of the Nether Boss, and the Tears that would open the way to the Symphony... Basically crafting Ghast Tears with Golden Nuggets to create Elegy, a silvery metal (kind of like electrum) that would be the frame for a Portal that'd send The Man to the Draconic Symphony.
