Yay, decorative items! https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/235742974271700993 https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/235746335368814592

Not quite what I had in mind, but this works. I'd still like an armor display that displays armor in 3D as if you were wearing it, and a weapon rack that displays swords and tools in 3D.
And then GameManXD comes in with another furniture post.
Oh yes
Finally! Will all players be able to see the map?
I sure hope so
Oh yes
Maps and wall-clocks, this is everything I've ever wanted and more!
It just occured to me: You could set up 9 of those maps in a big 3x3 and have a world map of an area... Now all we need is the ability to copy maps legitimately without finding them in strongholds.
It would be much better if the map wasn't just floating inside a frame like that but more like a real framed map/painting or so.
It would be much better if the map wasn't just floating inside a frame like that but more like a real framed map/painting or so.
Well, it's still WIP, so I guess he might do that
I'm liking this dinnerbone and jeb combo already.

Just don't put in extra paper and compasses.
I'm pretty sure there will be a "printing press" or some type of copy machine that you can eventually make that Jeb and Dinnerbone will be coming up with, where you can make clones of the same book or clones of the same map. Although we do need to get their attention that people would like that kind of a thing. The original author should be allowed to update their book after it being published though... just like how maps would constantly update as soon as you explore new territory with it.
Dinnerbone and Jeb is far better than Notch ever were at adding stuff, yea so he came with the idea. They take it to the next level, or am I the only one thinking this?
What possible reason could Jeb have for not including the command block into 1.3? It's pretty obvious that next to everyone wants it.
It's not fucking done, maybe? [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] Also, the new frame block needs a background. I'd also like a 3d frame block, but it'd look better if it were a glass block with your item inside of it.
If you shift+click when crafting a map, you will always create map_00. Just don't put in extra paper and compasses.
Did not know that, that is neat. Now we only need to be able to do that for the other 65535 maps.
I wish they changed maps to pop to a grid, rather than centering on the creation point. Map 0,0 | Map 1,0 Map 0,-1 | Map 1,-1
Recorded footage of Notch's breakup "I'm sorry, Markus, I can't be committed to someone who isn't committed to their own job."
I wish they changed maps to pop to a grid, rather than centering on the creation point. Map 0,0 | Map 1,0 Map 0,-1 | Map 1,-1
The problem with that though is if you just happen to build your house in the corner of a grid you'd have to make 4 maps just to have a map of the surrounding area. Maybe they could make a map editing item, similar to books. ink + feather + map creates a map which you can align to a grid, zoom in and out, and add map markers to. Like the stuff Notch originally wanted to add.
For any people who want a cool Tekkit server, we are going to create a city, but we are with only 2 people, and I figured we could use some more players. 83.82.203.228
I hope there will be large (2x2) frames for maps, it's nearly impossible to read that map properly in a 1x1 frame.
Perhaps they could split the crafting so you make a pen with ink and a feather. Then you craft map/book + pen to make their separate things. Map + pen makes a type of map that allows you to place waypoints and title them. The titles would show when you hover over or maybe smallishly above the waypoint (but still on hover if you have multiple waypoints close together.).

Wished I could do a LAN Let's Play with a group. A video episode released from every person's point of view. [editline]Poppycock.[/editline] Look at that health bar. [t]http://i.imgur.com/5UslW.png[/t] It seems boating at full speed into a squid reduces your health to almost dead and indicates fall damage. :v:
I wish they would stop adding tiny little new features and add some core gameplay elements instead. [editline]16th August 2012[/editline] In the end those item display cases are just another placeable block that looks pretty. I'll get one and say "Oh this is neat" and place a couple of them and then get immediately bored of them. It's kinda like with 1.3. "Oh I can trade with villagers, that's cool I guess. So, is there anything new to actually do?"

Minecraft is too simple to be enjoyable any more, and the core elements are already defined. They won't make any changes to that any time soon. Any update they do from now on will be very shallow, just because changing core gameplay would change so much that they would change things too much for the main players of the game, which are the little kids.
