I want to make a city with villagers, but from what I understand I'd have to find a pre-built village and expand upon it within a certain limit for the Villagers to "naturally" breed and populate the village. Am I right in that matter?

dammit, modding community. I thought I could trust you, I thought you were my friend.
And now, after that whole summer, I come back to this.
I think I'll take a break from mods.

Tekkit is a mod pack specifically designed around being compatible with multiplayer, hence the massive interest.
Also by the same creators is Technic, which features the Mo' Creatures, that adds FUCKING OGRES that FUCKING BASH your FUCKING HOUSE DOWN

You can turn them off you know, in the global mod settings or whatever
It is a modpack, originally from the something awful forums, that adds many types of mechanical systems and generators to the game, enabling you to make factories, automatic crafting systems, and many other things.
The main mods in Tekkit are:
Redpower
Industrialcraft
Buildcraft
Equvalent Exchange
Technic (single player) adds:
Thaumcraft
Mystcraft
Mo'creatures
The main draw to it is a custom launcher that enables automatic updating and the ability to play multiple versions at once, including the base game and other modpacks like the yogbox and Hack + Mine.

FUCK.
I personally just turned off Mo' Creatures entirely, many of the neutral mobs make some deeply irritating and repetitive noises.
I personally HATE tekkit, or really any BIG mod pack. It just annoys me because people bug me about it. "ZAC WANNA PLAY TEKKIT!?" "LOLOLOLOLOLOL COOKIE FARM BITCH!" "LOL WHY DOESNT JEB ADD THESE IN LAWL" I. HATE. THAT.

The only creatures I really like in that pack are the birds and the fish
also I can't stand wraiths/ogres

I honestly think you shouldn't judge a product because of the mentality of its fanbase.
Mods/TEKKIT and so much to the vanilla Minecraft, and that's a good thing for those who have been getting weary of vanilla Minecraft.

Your avatar TOTALLY fits my reaction to reading your post.

You hate it because it's big?
I mean, do you hate it because it's got a large file size and would take up a large amount of your HDD or do you feel like the game becomes too cluttered? Because the main reason I prefer to play Technic over Tekkit is because Technic takes out a lot of the SSP mods that just add annoying bullshit to the game (MO' CREATURES).

I like how it's big. Minecraft, after playing Tekkit and Technic, feels too shallow without it.

Yeah, it totally changes the game. It makes it almost un-playable to me.
To be honest, I can agree to a point with Zac. A lot of the stuff is complicated and really doesn't seem to fit into the simplistic Minecraft. On the other hand, some stuff can be neat.
I can sorta agree with you Zac, but please express your opinion in a less annoying way.

I'm not following...
Wait, are you talking about something like the old wand tool that let you set two points and fill it with blocks?
Well, I could do that, but this is supposed to be a ruler. Make two points, and it tells you the distance between them for each axis.
Well, I could do that, but this is supposed to be a ruler. Make two points, and it tells you the distance between them for each axis.
Oh, I see now.
Also: I would really appreciate the tool, I used it a lot before and it was great.
Felt like just making a bunch of mods that will aid builders. Any other suggestions?

If you are doing the wand tool, here are some things that were really useful:
1. Ability to remove blocks as well as add them
2. Ability to remove/replace specific blocks with other specific blocks.
What i'm basically asking you to do is replicate the tool, the previous creator stopped working on it. Also, if you could merge your ruler tool with the wand it would be even more useful.
So, you're asking for the ability to place and remove blocks in a selected area, and replace some blocks with other blocks?
Kinda like worldedit?
Kinda like worldedit?
Exactly like worldedit minus the fact that it's outside of the game. It's pointless for singleplayer but works great for large-scale multiplayer projects.
Alright. I'll see what I can do. Any suggestions for other useful tools?
Alright. I'll see what I can do. Any suggestions for other useful tools?
Maybe a mode that put an outline around each individual block (not including air), so that it could be like a grid format? Toggle it on and off?
