dammit, modding community. I thought I could trust you, I thought you were my friend. And now, after that whole summer, I come back to this. I think I'll take a break from mods. Forever.
I'd just like to point out, aside from the obvious sexual uses this is actually a fantastic mod in some regards. Swap out the graphics (I used blank files) and write your own scripting, and it could easily actually be useful for adventure maps instead of books that can only be used by one player at a time, or signs that really break immersion. There's also a lot possible regarding the actual scripting of it - you can have the mobs remove themselves, or begin to attack you even for neutral mobs. You could have, for example, a zombie pigman in a 1x2 empty space surrounded by netherrack or nether brick, with a gap at face level for the player to interact with them. That pigman would then explain whatever he needs to explain, then you call the self-kill function to remove the pseudo-NPC (this doesn't cause xp or mob drops, not even a corpse) to release a pressure plate he was standing on, opening iron gates and leading the way forward. Further pigmen would then have minor interactions and if you choose to tease them or piss them off, they'll start attack you - you hit one, and the rest begin attacking you. Essentially a game over. Even if you do survive, you can't use the mob talker on mobs if they're trying to kill you. I'm not entirely sure how this actually works, but if you call the attack function on one pigman, you can still talk to further pigmen, but if you attack one you can't talk to any who are aggressive. You can, however, talk to skeletons and creepers and blazes who spawn aggressive until you attack them. You can no longer talk to them if you hit them. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] That said, the 18+ scripts on their wiki are not helping their case.
I found these cows testing my adventure map. They look pretty frightened so I guess I'm doing a good job!
Had another idea for entity teleportation via portals, if it does work instantly, then dispensers into portals, with pressureplates on the other side of the respective portal, means that you could transmit a redstone signal over long distances, using 8 times as less redstone due to the distance reduction in the nether.
You can already transmit redstone infinite distances, wirelessly. The only limitation is having that chunk loaded. You can even transmit redstone to and from the nether. And you can do this right now. In fact, it's nothing new, you could do it several months ago. And this is completely vanilla, no mods at all.
[img_thumb]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m979w7ADBj1qlmm34o1_1280.png[/img_thumb] It was thunderstorming today in Minecraft and I heard the blip of an Enderman teleporting. Of course I instantly froze and stared at the ground, but today it turned out to just be a harmless little Endermiss taking shelter from the rain and checking out my pantry. I just can't help but find it really cute when Endermen do that. During one rainstorm I ended up with an Enderman hiding in my basement cellar. I left him alone and he rearranged blocks of my dirt wall before moving on. shit wait now there's two of them [img_thumb]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m97adimzNj1qlmm34o2_1280.png[/img_thumb]
To get back on the topic of wonderful Minecraft stuff, any other suggestions before I upload?
I assume it's possible to place the circle vertically? This would be pretty useful for building ridiculously huge and neat gate entrances.
Anyone know of mods like this? This one is out of date, and i really like how it adds new generations, but it doesnt add new blocks.
Betterdungeons.
Its 1.2.5 . [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] Nothing? Well thats a shame, i REALLY like mods like that
I'll probably get a bunch of late ratings for this but here's a trick I discovered for putting vines in the ceiling [vid]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3685777/javaw%202012-08-23%2011-32-18-73.webmvp8.webm[/vid]
Alright. I'll see what I can do. Any suggestions for other useful tools?
Give it a config to take the blocks out of your inventory or not, that way if you just don't want to go and jump up and down and all that shit to build a wall you can still do survival, just not build as much.
When I try to install a mod with the Tekkit launcher by placing it in the mod folder, the game will just crash. What do? [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline] Mod select button is greyed out.
Crash log would help.
Shit, of course. Sorry.
I'll probably get a bunch of late ratings for this but here's a trick I discovered for putting vines in the ceiling
It can also be used to levitate sand and gravel. Also, has anyone noticed themselves taking damage when walking off 3-high drops? I could have sworn it used to be 4-high.
Shit, of course. Sorry. [editline]23rd August 2012[/editline]
Is the mod for the same version as tekkit? (1.2.5)
It's the circle projector. I guess he made it for 1.3 though.
And thats another reason i dont like HUGE modpacks

This is actually really useful, then.
And thats another reason i dont like HUGE modpacks
I think you should say it about 20 more times, I'm not quite sure if you like huge modpacks or not.
New PC, shaders are so pretty :D
New PC, shaders are so pretty :D
I think they should rebrand the mod as the "Instagram mod" I mean, sure, it looks cool, but for some reason whenever I use it, it devours memory (I think) and I end up crashing within five minutes. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the shaders or a problem with Optifine, since I get similar (but not as bad) problems when I just use Optifine.
Trying to help my driving instructors son get his Minecraft working again, he keeps getting this message does anyone know how to sort it? Edit: One way to fix this problem is to update your Java to 64 bit if its 32 and you're running a 64 bit system and reducing render distance.

Turning down the view distance is the simplest fix.

When you're done just run the .bat file instead of Minecraft.exe and you should be good to go.

Are you by any chance running 32 bit java on 64 bit OS?
today it turned out to just be a harmless little Endermiss taking shelter from the rain and checking out my pantry.
[I]The Ender Miss is a special kind of ender mobs: Like the name suggest, she's female and also totally passive! I've started a bit of a Minecraft server project. It's semi-anarchy in that cheating and exploits are bannable, but everything else is allowed. If I hit 16 players online at once in the next few days I'll start hosting it from an actual provider. Then I'll probably make a thread too. IP is 69.76.3.7.
Plugins: NoCheat, McMMO, WorldBorder, and RandomSpawn. The world stops at 15k. This is to prevent the game getting boring because everyone lives 100k blocks away in the middle of nowhere. On Death you lose 75% of your McMMO stats. The leveling curve is majorly reduced though. You could probably reach level 500 on most stats in just 30 minutes - 1 hour. Everyone spawns in a random location across the world.
If you guys have any tips on what I should add/improve, just give me a PM ingame or on Steam.
I love using the Painterly Pack. It always gives me a sense of nostalgia.
