Jesus christ, i made a new creative map to experiment on the new behaviours of villagers and was lucky to spawn inside one. After doing some testing, night eventually arrived and all the villagers went into their houses.
What followed was like from a zombie movie.
It was like a zombie apocalypse. I just stood there going D:
I need a village too. Can you give me the seed?

Just generate a superflat map and look around near where you start at. Villages are really common on superflat maps.
Anyone know if the server property build-height is capped at 256?
Redstone components are lagging me with this new snapshot. My oscillating piston tower brings my fps to a crawl.

That's terribly false. They aren't any more common on flat maps, it's just it's much easy to fly over a giant fucking flat map than it is to walk over it.

I don't know, whenever I generate a superflat map I always spawn within easy walking distance of at least one village.

This method is the only way I have found a village.
I like to improve and reinforce them.

Fused two guard towers together with a corridor and blocked an entrance before evicting the tenant testificates. I live there now.

Since I've never found a mushroom biome before, I made an artificial one. :v:

Also found four diamonds in the blacksmith chest, which was unforeseen but nice.
Ah, that's Dokucraft light. I find that its the giant brown mushrooms that look bad.
Dokucraft has it's parts.
I walked into a village in my flatlands save when night fell. I was just entering and all of a sudden the zombie scourge came... 3 zombies were crowded at the nearest door with a bunch of Testificates inside, I tried knocking the zombies away but as I rounded the corner I saw another door with 5 zombies all pounding away or clawing at the entrance. I was panicking, I didn't want my villagers dead, but I had just entered the village so it wasn't too late. As I paused the game to think, I realized I could just go to easy mode. My village was saved! Day came, and the Testificates flooded out of their houses. I noticed one house, two villagers came out and there was a baby Testificate.
The villagers were fucking during a zombie siege
Then I saw one of the parents in a white apron take off down the street, fall in love with another villager, and run into the nearest house.
Did the sky always change color when you were in a different biome, or did they just add it in this snapshot?

It's been that way for quite some time now.
uhh it just started snowing in a non-snow biome in my map in the latest snapshot, its pre-snapshot world.
[editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
its even snowing in the desert next to it.
Apparently the snapshot is really buggy, notch must of helped.
How it works is that it's simply a data value in the minecraft save, and that data value is the generate structures on/off, and by default it's 0. You can change it via nbtedit.
How could I do this? Is it MapFeatures in level.dat? That's already set to 1, so I should have a nether fortress, I think.
Waiting for someone to build a replica of Burj Khalifa.
Or just a really fucking tall skyscraper in general.

same happened to me, spots of snow all over a desert biome and ice creeping into its water :(
The biomes-stored-in-chunks format didn't exist before this snapshot so that's to be expected. But it won't happen in future snapshots/updates.
Did just Cloudy weather exist before? My game right now its dark and cloudy like its raining but there is no rain.
I think the rain is broken.
You thought you were safe from 360 no scopes in minecraft.

You were wrong.
Guys, my millenaire is acting weird. I bit ago I got on and it said that the chests to a village was unlocked. I disregarded it, being distract in real life. I caved a bit and found a dungeon, but resurfaced in a location near a village that was close to my house. I explored it, and found that all the houses said empty, despite the village population being 10. All except one, which had the name of a couple. The whole village is deserted and I don't know what happened. I can access most of the chests now, but it feels really desolate without villagers. The other day I had 3 dogs, one of which died due to a creeper incident. I died previously and wanted to take them along to use as bait against the skeletons that killed me. Once I retrieved my items, I got fed up with the dogs teleporting right infront of me while I was running, and killed them in cold blood and logged off. I feel really alone in this new house now (I conquered a floating castle from some armored skeletons). I think I'm going to get some dogs I left at my original house and move them to this location, but does anyone know why the villagers disappeared?

Sounds like something in a Creepypasta.
I wish. I found another village and it's inhabited, I'll keep you updated.
Is anyone else getting extreme lag on certain worlds while others are perfectly fine?

Not going to lie, but that's pretty damn impressive.

Write a Creepypasta from it. DO IT NOW

Did you by any chance update your millenaire, but keep the same world? Becuase that used to cause phantom villages.
