Dinnerbone replied to controlling pigs. Confirmed! Now I wonder what the pro's are. Maybe they move at sprint speed.

I just discovered industrial craft, pretty fun.. trying to get the right reactor design. I was unhappy when my usual reactors didn't actually melt down, they simply exploded. this one melts down and leaves permanent lava, which is nice. And it does its job. Now I have no idea what to do with 3 giant, complicated, self-cooling reactors and the power they generate.
Alright so I got a few agrees and thats enough for me :v:
The game idea is called Conquest! Make a Village, try and survive the mobs and other leaders, and also try and be good to the gods.
There are rules, but i will explain them if requested.
Phase 1: During the first day of hosting, each leader will be put in creative mode and begin building their village. They must not use rare materials in their houses. You must make a small *1 room* house, a medium *2-4 rooms* house, and a large *6+ room* house. They must have a wall and 2 open entrance as well. As well during this phase, the gods* who will be explained later* will build their temples for worship. After that, aesthetic buildings can be built if the leader wants to.
Now for Phase 2!
In Phase 2 all leaders are put in survival, 4 villagers are placed in the village, and the server is put in hard difficulty. Building is still permitted during this phase, so you have to find the rarer materials afterward. Each leader can PVP each other, team up, merge villages, etc. Leaders can't kill villagers directly, so they must improvise *TnT cannon, Leading into fires. Leading mobs into the village, or what ever they can come up with*. In the end, the village with the most villagers is the winner, or the last village with a villager in it. This phase may last 2 whole days to 4 whole days.
Now there is no Phase 3 but there is a twist. Gods!
Gods are the almighty beings of power, they can change the rules, cause global events, help and hurt players, or what ever they can come up with. Some examples: Nether portal surrounded in obsidian that if not destroyed, ghasts and blazes will attack the villages, place a diamond block and tell the cords to all players and watch em run for it :v: , or even just for all leaders to group up and battle each other, or what ever they can come up with. Gods can hurt the player if they are doing really good, like spawn lots of zombies at their gates. If they are doing badly, they can help the leaders. Give them ore, food, weps, armor, etc. You may also worship the gods for goodies as well. The worse your doing, the better goodies you get, also depends on what you did to worship. Another thing, there can be multiple gods. 1 bad god, 1 good, 2 bad 2 good etc. At the moment for the first game im doing with friends is 4 gods, 2 good and bad.
One last thing is that there can also be 2 leaders per village, 2 villages vs 2 villagers, etc.
Thats all i got! There is still the rules but i can type them if requested. What you think? Criticism is requested!

That sounds kinda neat, a pinch complicated considering you need more then 1 player, but a mod could probably do it.
That sounds kinda neat, a pinch complicated considering you need more then 1 player, but a mod could probably do it.
It doesn't need to be a mod. I am playing it currently with some friends. Besides you NEED more then 3 for it to work.
What about certain trees with magical properties that can be used with brewing? A more purplish-tint of the biome's leaves, the Magic Tree's leaves drop experience orbs over time of decaying. Its bark (wood in this case) is excellent in brewing some sort of magnificent concoction.
It'd be pretty cool if you could get the ingredients from the world and craft gunpowder. So a mix of a bucket of lava (for the sulphur), and coal/charcoal (for the carbon). As the for the saltpetre, uhh... a drop from pigs? Either that, or have pigs occasionally take a dump, and use that to either fertilize crops or craft it to make saltpetre. I say pigs, because chickens and cows already have multiple uses.
Isn't saltpetre a stone?
Now I start to wonder if there wasn't an easier way to do this.

Oh. Custom map maybe? The next update with the command block would be useful. Like have the main people open a piston door that holds a command block that switches over the persons gamemode
The point of lurking is so you understand what people like and dont like.
This isnt the minecraft forums where you can just post what you want and make dumb remarks about everything. People here are much much different, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you will be "accepted" and not constantly hounded on by everyone and their mother.
Well, ok. Only because you guys arent being rude/un-kind.

If you default the weight to 1 (or whatever), you could always just include entries for blocks with different weights, then look up the special block IDs in your array, and if they exist use the value or just return 1.
weight = weightValues[id] ? weightValues[id] : 1;
Or something like that (Never done Java before)

Yeah, but pretty much everything has a weight other than 1. The zeros are just placeholders.

It would be nice to adapt to the old Legend Of Mir 2 ore system with ore qualities, the higher quality the higher cost, between 1 and 10.
Then you have a minimum quality (5) to smelt into normal iron bars. Then 10 would smelt into hardened iron with stronger qualities and more uses for a pick or something.
For what I'm working on? Or just in general?
It means you have an invalid minecraft account. (AKA it doesnt exist under mojangs purchased usernames list) Thats why there is an option for some servers to check logins for servers. It is also used for when the login servers are down, so if you use a hacked client you change your username. And if you dont change it, (or have a legit copy of minecraft) your name will be Player_000 but a random number like 091 or something like that.
No it doesn't.

Just in general. It would make mining a lot more interesting.
I've been playing around with interdiction torches in the technic pack, they can be funny as hell, but also quite buggy and laggy.

Zac, this isn't me trying to sound mean or anything, but I think it would benefit you (and possibly the rest of the MC section) if you stopped posting; just for a while, at least. Think of it this way: When I joined, I was your age, and probably posted like you do now. However, after lurking for a considerable number of months, I began posting.
I still don't post much now, to be honest... They just add up over time. I could post a picture of my current singleplayer house, but I don't, just for the fact that I don't feel it would contribute much to the thread as it currently stands; I'd much prefer to wait until I have something rather impressive, or at least a before/after shot of the area.
Like I said, not trying to sound mean, but simply watch how other people type- recognise when people are posting things sarcastically (the whole 'xD' stuff). But you know, I'm probably not putting my point across well enough.
Need ideas for buffs that fit the Minecraft style. Need good ways to increase the Player's strength.

No, i understand. I will start lurking, but i will NOT stop posting. Well, i wont post as much, but im not going to stop because a few people are annoyed about me. Like i said before, i just utterly dont care about them. Thank you for being nice, and i will take your advice.

Ability to see underwater
Ability to see more light from light sources (torches would light up more of an area, for example)
Ability to jump higher and take falling damage only from higher heights
Ability to passively climb certain extra blocks (iron fences or trees, for example)
Ability to climb ladders (or extra blocks if the above effect is also active) much more quickly (think sprinting, but upwards)
Ability to float or fly short distances
Wait I think I completely misunderstood the question there
im older than you do what i say.
Lurking, at least, in my opinion, is where you don't post for a while. I've seen an emerging pattern with you where you seem to post the first thing that comes to mind-- without even fully formulating the thought in your head (to make sure it sounds and looks logical). Only if you spend a week or so not posting *as much*, you'd probably benefit from it.
In fact,
lurk (lûrk)
intr.v. lurked, lurk·ing, lurks
1. To lie in wait, as in ambush.
2. To move furtively; sneak.
3. To exist unobserved or unsuspected: danger lurking around every bend.
4. To read but not contribute to the discussion in a newsgroup, chatroom, or other online forum.
People aren't annoyed about you, they're just a little frustrated you're not taking advice, and constantly keep saying 'I don't care about them' hate to go all sentimental or whatever, but we're a community-- admittedly, there are people you can grow to dislike, but saying "I don't care" when they are sort of giving constructive citicism (admittedly, in their own way :v:) can be pretty infuriating.
Eh, this is definitely going off topic. I'll post a picture of my current house when I have time, to make up for it.
Zac, feel free to PM me about whatever. I'm not the oldest member in the world, but I can give you my opinion on things if needed (or, if you want to discuss anything, INCLUDING this topic)
If you've ever heard of the SCP Foundation, you might like the SCP Minecraft server that some folks here run.
Isn't saltpetre a stone?
Nah, it's potassium nitrate. It can be found in mineral sources as well as animal shit. IIRC there was once this one highly-valued tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean or somewhere like that which was highly-valued simply because it was absolutely coated in KNO3-rich bird shit.
