Go to a library, they usually have computers you can use. Download minecraft and and install it and transfer the game to a usb stick. I am sure nobody would mind uploading their .minecraft folder and I guess it really doesn't matter now that if you do not have a premium account you can only play the demo, but its against the rules.
Wouldnt it be nice with a block that only sends a redstone signal once the right item has been put in?
Would be useful for adventure maps where you need a certain item to get somewhere instead of just throwing a torch or something.
I'd rather something a little more expansive, condition based box.
Outputs if item is not in, or if item is in, or only if a certain numbers is or is not in the box.
Shouldn't be too hard to make work :v:
I'm finding this hard to believe; you have a steam account with 75 owned games... obviously you have internet.
yeah profanwolf

So because he has downloaded things in the past means he has internet forever?

Would make in-game HDDs much more easy to implement. I know, I know - I'm not playing minecraft properly, but who wouldn't like a little platter-based love-making?

The fact he was signed onto his steam account three days ago tells me he has internet as every internet cafe I've been to does not allow you to run your own applications/games or sign into your steam account. They have all of that setup for you with restricted access; typically it's a welcome page with the ability to open specific applications.

Most internet cafes I've been to let you sign into your own steam account :v:

Mojang panel @ PAX starting in 30 minutes.
What would you do if you suddenly had developmental control over a ridiculously popular game? In the past two years, Minecraft has turned the indie world upside down. But what happens when the lead developer, Markus “Notch” Persson turns the development over. Listen to Jens Bergensten walk you through the game development process which even involved hiring community developers (aka the Bukkit team). Learn about the trials and triumphs they’ve encountered along the way and where Minecraft is headed in the future.

The ones I've been to force you to pay for time and have a locked system with only pre-approved games. :)
So is it ok to make server advertisement threads now?

Even if it is just a 10 slot server?
Me and a friend have been trying to get tekkit running on a paid(not)-hosting space so graciously provided by darksoul, but we haven't been able to get it working. The space won't let us use batch files, so we're at a loss on how to get it working. Can anyone help?
gee i dunno
ask darksoul

Don't upload the batch file and rename the tekkit.jar to minecraft_server.jar. Don't upload the included server.properties in the tekkit zip either.
also ftp is a lot better to use imo

I always read it as fukkit.
Guess I begin on a "studio city," somewhere where I would record if/and/or/when I get mods done. It's looking like a good residency there. Only one or two of ya'll will remember this, and I call the place Arubia, capital city of the kingdom of Fz.

What texture pack is that?

Derivation RPG.

Finished the first block of residency. As of now, it can hold six individuals in 3x3 rooms. As for Arubia, think of it like the antithesis of The People's Republic of Brotopia, but still with a monarchy. It is one of the three known Testificate Kingdoms, the other two being located in Gargamel Gorge and the other somewhere in a Taiga biome.

Thought I suppose I could fit five more rooms down there, but how would I style the other staircase?

Something about you building style totally conflicts with making it out of sandstone, but another part totally works with it. Your house is a mindfuck.

That's part of making a whole new world: making a distinctive style native to it and only it. Coincidences otherwise. The angled roofs remain as a regular Testificate style, with many large structures. Roads not only go up, but there also half-blocks (as in city blocks) where one road may go between other roads. It does not go unorganized. It may even go underground if enough citizens are there. The structure allows for it with minimal rennovations.
If I use the Philosopher's stone from Equilavent Exchange to transmute fuels, will I get it back?
Yes, you never lose it in any recipe (not even transmutation tablets and interdiction torches)
Another EE question. I have 10.000 EMC stored in my Klein Star so the Transmutation tablet will give me diamonds etc., but I only want wooden planks. Anyone got an idea?

I recommend you watch direwolf20's letsplay.
Info from PAX
- The mob-head decoration thingy will be a very rare mob drop
- Putting three skeleton heads together (in some sort of ritualistic way) will create the Wither (which is the official name for the mob).
- The 1.4 update is officially going to be called the "Pretty Scary" update, because it involves lots of pretty stuff, and apparently lots of scary stuff (since the plan is to make it something of a Halloween release).
- Dinnerbone has, for the time being, removed the mob spawner XP nerf.
- Minecraft for XBox will likely diverge with Minecraft for PC in terms of the features in updates.
Yeah, direwolf20 explains everything he does and I've learned a great deal about various mods from watching his let's plays.
They better not disappoint us with the scary stuff like the Endermen did.
Does anyone have experience with the Essentials plugin, specifically CommandBook? I've got a Hamachi server up and running so I can play with a couple friends, and it works perfectly. I switched to Bukkit today and got the server running fine so I could install a couple plugins. It looks like everything is working except I don't know how to give myself permissions to do anything. I see a config.yml but inside it doesn't have anything where I'd add a name or anything to give permissions to when I join. All I get is "You don't have access to this command" or "You do not have permission to build" everywhere I go.
