The ones I've been to force you to pay for time and have a locked system with only pre-approved games. :)
internet cafe is closed on weekends couldn't answer these questions. i've a portable hdd which is installed with steam i take it to the cafe to download games to play in offline at home (which they hate me doing) i didn't think about installing minecraft to the cafe's computer then taking the files from here i'm doing that as we speak/type thank you everyone who said that.
I miss the "spawning on a beach" times. And the simpler times of Minecraft. And the old world gen. minecraft is bad now
I thought the Better World Generation mod was neat. It's not. It adds beta areas and makes forests too common and not enough of any other biome. Each forest has sandpit after sandpit after sandpit that a square kilometer of forest may hold .5km surface of sand.
Has anyone else noticed that mountains have looked so much better in the current version? So many overhangs and it's just glorious.
Too many overhangs. 1.4 better have the Mojang Minecraft Modding API.
Too many overhangs. 1.4 better have the Mojang Minecraft Modding API.
It will have it but it will take ages, gotta rewrite the rendering and lighting engines first. They're aiming for end of Oct. (Halloween)
yay minecraft i can finally see the jungle biome and while i'm looking at the splash screen that shows up as you're logging in
Removed Herobrine
that was a joke right? it says it in the minecraft 1.3.1 update
yay minecraft i can finally see the jungle biome and while i'm looking at the splash screen that shows up as you're logging in that was a joke right? it says it in the minecraft 1.3.1 update
It's a very old, very unfunny joke that Jeb started adding to all the update changelogs.
Pistons? An electricity analogue? Compasses, clocks, enchanted shit, hell, even the presence of gunpowder itself places Minecraft at a little higher than the Bronze age. The Chinese invented gunpowder and they almost immediately had war applications for it, I don't see why Steve, who is able to forge armor out of the materials he pulls out of the depths of the earth, create complex logic gates using some kind of magical electricity, and build portals into other dimensions, is unable to craft a simple firearm.
Aye; the way I see it is that Steve is the embodiment of humanity and technology, faced by a strange and dangerous world of magic and mystery. Where he came from, no-one knows, probably not even Steve himself, but his path starts with survival; he has to use his knowledge and strength to build a safe home and outfit himself to deal with the hazards of the Overworld, so that he can explore the world and find others like himself. He finds some of this "sense of self" in the Testificates, though they are still somewhat alien to him, just as he is alien to them. Perhaps he seeks knowledge and power more than companionship? Aside from the whole "I am man, I am technology" part, the personality of Steve is likely up to the player; you decide whether he's a self-centered wizard of technology seeking power, or a lost man seeking to find civilization and humanity amongst the wilds of the Overworld. Personally, i've seen neither hide nor hair of civilization in my world, only the remnants of abandoned mineshafts and the languishing undead husks of a once-great Piggish empire; I guess my Steve's gonna be the Lone Wizard of Technology. In regards to Steve finding civilization, he should be able to do much more than just trade with the villagers; he should be able to help the village become more safe and secure, like building a wall to keep the undead out, teach the villagers how to fight alongside their Golems, basically help to build a kingdom of sorts. Combine this path of the Wandering Lord with the path of the Lone Wizard of Technology, and you could essentially choose between being a king amongst men or a hunter of the strange.

I believe Minecraft should still have Pigmen villagers implemented into the game. And I want to know abit more "lore" or backstory about the endermen.
Pigmen villages would be great in swamp biomes, with mudhuts and stuff.
Personally my theory of the pigmen is that they were an ancient civilization and they used the Nether as a sort of "undead asylum"; they dealt with early-onset cases of the undead plague by banishing them to the Nether, where their condition was metastable; not yet Zombies yet still stricken with decay. As for the Endermen, perhaps they were like Shades/Gestalts; the souls of Pigmen made corporeal and resistant to undeath in a dark pact to the Enderdragon, in an effort to preserve themselves until the day they can walk the Overworld once more, preferably once the stench of undeath has been purged. But if they are the souls, where are the bodies? Are they frozen deep within ancient temples, or do roam around the Nether, awaiting cleansing and reunification with their souls?

I love this guy's work.
If I recall correctly, jeb said that he wasn't going to change terrain gen to go above 128 or whatever the original cap was, because the extra vertical space is "for players to use" or something like that.
He doesn't have to raise the whole ground, just the mountains.
Is there a way I can make Minecraft a little less laggy? I'm trying to play on my laptop (with which I can play many a game at high graphics), but MC goes apeshit when I'm in a 1x2 tunnel. It becomes very tiresome very quickly.
Set graphics to fast and lower render distance. Also get optifine.
Before Optifine, I was going at 12-18 fps, with it I can play at a steady 30. I highly recommend it.
You sound like those highly over excited people complimenting a product on TV
The best part bout a terrain generation that would produce to-scale mountains is that in many cases the slope would be subtle enough that there could be multiple biomes across a given mountain range, so parts of a mountain might be forested, or barren, and the peaks would be snowy.
Someone mentioned Bombs as a use for gunpowder, so here's my idea for how it could work: You craft the bomb with 4 iron ingots and 5 gunpowder, and it gives you 3 bombs. You throw it by right clicking (You can hold it down to throw it further, like a bow) and after it lands it takes a second to go off. It has a 4-5 block radius but doesn't destroy blocks. You can use alchemy to give bombs different effects; With a lava bucket, it will make "Fire Bombs" which will crate 2-3 fire blocks where it lands. With glow stone it will make it deal less damage but have a larger area effect, and with redstone it will do more damage and destroy a small amount of blocks.
Also, improved render distance. I hate climbing atop massive mountains to see nearly nothing from the top.

Also, I think dynamite sticks should be able to be made with: [ ][string][ ] [ ][sulfur][ ] [ ][sulfur][ ] I should give you 2 dynamite sticks. They can be thrown and should only destroy light blocks suck as wool, wood, dirt, etc. Cobblestone and stone, etc, should be invulnerable to dynamite. 4 dynamite sticks in a square should make 1 TNT block which should behave the same as they do now.
That's so crazy it just might.. not make any sense at all what the fuck are you doing.
What?
