Anyone interested in like special PVP games? Like 2 teams of 5 on a certain map or something. I can easily host one.
That sounds fun.
Well, it has to be 2 teams of 5 since I only have 10 slots. Maybe like a US hosted Hardcore PVP. I dunno. Also, Tobi updated the Inspiration text pack, if anyone here uses it. Compatible up to Snapshot w36a. http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/inspiration-by-tobiwank3nobi/
Sounds like a fine event. Im in
A lot of servers I know, and one I play one, disables the nether anyways. So these are going to be stupidly impossible to obtain.
Servers disabling a core feature of the game, which in turn makes an item unobtainable, makes the item stupid? what
Well, what would you guys like? I'm just gonna see what you guys would want to do the most and I'll host it.
Well, maybe 2 already built forts or even us building the forts?
Make it so one team of players is pitted against just one other player that has their health boosted to like 500 or something. Whoever kills the Boss player wins. You can use MaxHealth

So, I found a little bug with redstone that lets you have wireless redstone: Not sure if it's new or not, but it's definitely new to me.

Whatever you guys want. But remember, it's a 10 slot server. I'll make a thread after you guys agree on an idea. [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] I might just use my server to host events as well as the 3 people that play survival.
Made a simple house design, four connected into one. Doors on two sides, connected by small tunnels that can easily be removed and have the wall replaced. Interiors on each are 5 by 5. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/k8Xky.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I'm gonna go with the Saxton Halecraft thingy idea. I'll make it so you have certain classes and shit and the Saxton Hale will have pretty good gear and loads of health. Hopefully it goes well. Now all I need is a nice PVP map.
any 1.3.2 mods that go well alongside millenaire?
Apparently the village I found doesn't have too many houses that the villagers can access: [t]http://www.niggaupload.com/images/hC1oY.png[/t] :v: Texture pack is JohnSmith, if someone cares.
Steve? Yaranaika?
Started playing the new snapshot with my friend. He found a desert village and now we live there. We have went through like 1 diamond pick, atleast 3 iron picks and a few stone picks and we have destroyed half of the village (Village outskirts without villagers) and we built a few (20) shacks for them. And then put doors outside of the shacks. Also we started a 10x10 quarry. After 1 diamond pick, 3 iron picks, atlteast 3 stone picks, we are about halfway through. But the diamond pick cost 10 emeralds. We traded them with wheat and fishies. You know what happened? We lost that guy. And we do not know where :c
How do BUDs even work? I tried to make one but it didn't do anything.
You have to power/unpower a block diagonally above the piston. [editline]8th September 2012[/editline] Like this The right piston is powered by the lever but since flipping the lever doesn't cause the piston to update it stays retracted until something updates it. The left piston is not powered but since turning the lever off, again, doesn't cause it to update it remains extended until something updates it..
Still no villages found in the north-west corner, though I did find a torrent of lava flowing down the side of a mountain, plus a massive plateau with a great hollow interior. I hope not to find a village at night, since i'd have to spend half the time building the defenses and half the time killing the fiends that stalk the night. Actually that'd make a decent beginning of a tale. Wall of text -Memoirs of George Logan, a priest of Stonewall Village.
You know, I'd love to see this turned into a series of some sort, whether by video or pictures like People's Republic of Brotopia.
Me and my friend are playing on a Hamachi server, he leaves, his computer goes to sleep mode for no reason, I get kicked off server, he gets back and boots server back up and I start getting intense lag, to the point where it takes chunks 10 seconds to load. I've restarted my client and Hamachi and he has restarted the server and it didn't get better. :(
Anyone know of any plugins that add a timer to respawn after death? Sort of like this one, but works with the newest bukkits.
I remember when Minecraft had just released it's full 'offical' survival mode, Alpha. The game was small in terms of gameplay back then but everyone practically worshipped Notch. Why today, does everyone call him out for everything? Minecraft was pretty much like Terraria when it first came out, a developer who didn't know what to do and just fleshed out their ideas a little too much and ended up disappointing some people who expected more out of the game. After this post, I'm going to take a vacation. Also, does anyone else think that the mob heads are going to be WAAAY fucking annoying inventory wise? Of course they're rare but they'll probably take up a fuck ton of space...throwing something out in the middle of a cave isn't really a good idea.
3 hours of MC yesterday and 7 hours of MC today. We started in a desert village with a few villagers. They had atleast 10 buildings, we took most of them down and built little shacks for them. Because villagers count by doors. We had like 32 villagers I guess (Two iron golems) Also yesterday night we were out of almost everything. Today we found a nice cavern and we found over 3 stacks of iron, atleast 1 stack of redstone and 7 stacks of coal (What I traded into Emerald, my friend hated me after that) Also went to the nether, found two nether fortresses, from one we harvested blaze rods and from the other we found two netherwart farms. We also built a big semi-automatic farm. Yields 1 stack of wheat, 2 stacks of carrots and potatoes or something in these lines. Also managed to complete the enchantment stuff, getting enough reeds is always a pain in the ass. And I had to go like 1000 blocks from our base to find a lot of cows. And I have only seen three major biomes, Desert, Taiga and Ice Plains. That sucks. And in the end I disliked most of the villagers because they had crappy trades. So I made a few blocks deep hole, put them in it and then suffocated them. When I finally got tired of it, I found out that only 3 villagers survived. Oops. Also our village is next to a desert pyramid. And I found another pyramid in the same desert, but it was under a lot of sand. I found it because a surface dungeon had collapsed under sand, they had spawned together. The final thing I did in the server was touch the fucking pressure plate in the desert. I had a slight lag spike and heared tsssssssss and I esc+disconnected so fucking fast. Also got a Sharpness IV Diamond sword with a lvl 30 enchant, helps with killing wither skeletons and blazes in the nether. Does not help when there is two of you in the small blazespawner room and you kill your friend though. And I used 15 levels on an iron pick and got Efficency 3, Unbreaking 3 and Fortune I. Oh yeah, we have a pig farm with atleast 20 pigs and two racingpigs in their little shacks. My friend started building a race track but he destroyed his shovel and got tired of it.
The reason people are calling Notch on his shit is because what started as a game with pretty big frequent updates devolved into a game that would fix 5 bugs with each patch and cause 10 more when not a whole lot was even added. Anyone remember the nightmare that was 1.6? All that bullshit because Notch decided "Oh we need an update now to throw them off the trail of how many vacations I've been taking lately... I know! I'll give them cookies and wolves! *takkity takkity taktaktakkity tak* GREAT SUCCESS! NOW OFF TO VEGAS!" There's been a massive increase in quality not only in the updating process (snapshots for those who WANT frequent potentially-game-ruining updates and for those who wish to help find bugs to improve the final version) but in the quality of the update content itself ever since Jeb took over, and the addition of Dinnerbone has added greatly to the game as well. Still no mod API, yet, but we can only hope it's on the horizon.
Also, does anyone else think that the mob heads are going to be WAAAY fucking annoying inventory wise? Of course they're rare but they'll probably take up a fuck ton of space...throwing something out in the middle of a cave isn't really a good idea.
I throw shit out in the middle of caves all the time, don't be such a wiener. Obligations when exploring a new cave: 1) Light that bitch up first/purge monsters as needed. 2) Ensure non-lit areas are blocked or too high for mobs to come down. 3) Look above you. 4) Always carry enough cobblestone to make a furnace in case you need more tools/armor. (smelting ores and shit, yo) 5) Take a stack of logs with you. It's the most compact way to have enough materials for sticks needed for tools/torches, and they can also be used to make wooden planks which you can use to cross ravines/deep holes. 6) Take some food, ya big heathen dummy. Steak is best.
I wouldn't say the content is much better, sure writable books and villager AI is nice but I'll still get bored in no time. I want Minecraft to have a living ecosystem and dungeons that aren't primitive box rooms, this game just feels so flat.

And lo and behold, modders would make it happen. So if you tweet the suggestions to Jeb/Dinnerbone I'm sure they'd take it into consideration (they're pretty busy with the ModAPI currently, at least I hope they are amidst all this Wither/potatoes/carrots business.
So I found a really cool way of making "classes" without plugins. Stepping on the pressure plates makes the dispensers spit out a stone sword, swiftness potion, iron boots, and leather pants.
