Just don't make it a random parkour map in the middle of a regular Survival world. Add scenery.
So I'm exploring this Tekkit server I'm on, next to no rules. I find this house in the desert, next to a quarry. Then I find this sign on the inside of it. I mention this in the chat, and someone mentions "oh, yeah. And then some other asshole comes along and steals it all anyway." [editline]9th September 2012[/editline] That tower in the background was also his base... which has been looted of all torches, machines, everything. Creepers and skeletons now live in it.
finished my multiplayer house its pretty far out
i dont like the stone
I don't think my Mac likes 128x texture packs.
i dont like the stone
i actually have like 10 stacks of bricks should i replace the walls?
i actually have like 10 stacks of bricks should i replace the walls?
If you mean stone bricks, then yes. If normal brick, no.
My old MC server had 7 unique worlds connected through one single "portal" world, with connecting inventories and stuff. Is this something facepunch would be interested in or is it too generic?
Jesus that took way longer than I thought it would.
Episode 1 of Season 2 of my Minecraft Faction videos!
Holy shit, I was considering joining a server like this to try fighting with people but not anymore, Minecraft combat just looks so boring. It pretty much comes down to who spent the most time farming for enchants and potions.
dome
Wow, I figured you were just gonna go into creativity mode and use infinite glass.. props to you for doing it in survival mode. Does anybody know how you find villages? Does it have to be a certain gamemode on a certain type of map(flatland, biomes, ect), in a certain area of the map? I haven't discovered anything yet.
hows that look?

Who would have guessed.
Because I hate myself, I'm going to (after finishing furnishing the GLOBO-DOME 40 (speaking of which, I need help with furnishing ideas. So far I'm making a sandstone floor with a giant lava pillar flowing through the middle, but no idea for furnishings)) make a giant observatory on a mountain. Because why not. More specifically, this observatory at Caltech: It is 42m in diameter with a 5m telescope inside. And I will make a 1:1 scale model. :suicide:

After some convincing from my friends, I finally tried out the Technic Launcher. I have to say, it really adds a load of replay value to minecraft especially with the yogbox.
use this http://www.plotz.co.uk/plotz.php change it to observatory
That totally wasn't the place where I got the idea. :shh:
Tobi, the guy that does the Inspiration pack, updated the night sky again. I have no fucking clue how he did the shooting star.
What is it with Adfly and Minecraft? I have never seen it outside of Minecraft sites.
What is it with Adfly and Minecraft? I have never seen it outside of Minecraft sites.
I suppose it could be linked to the similar rise in popularity of minecraft itself. As soon as one person uses it, others start to see that and use it.

Did you turn on "Generate Structures" in "More Game Options" when you went to make a new map?

So that way you can get "donations" from people who enjoy your mod without having to ask them to pay anything but 5 seconds of their time.
I FUCKING HATE THE SPIDERS no matter how high i seem to build my walls they ALWAYS seem to get in and invade my city lets see them try it now you cocky little fucks. (oh, and that large blimp-like object? yeah that's a blimp i was building from to get that high. ignore that, i've been going a little overboard with blimp building lately.)
Here's a tip; it's not the height of the walls that matters, it's how you build them. For instance, Stonewall Village has a sort of "lip" at the top of its walls that prevents Spiders from climbing up and over, and I have plenty of light within those walls; the only problem is the village gates, since you can't really make proper gates in Minecraft without semi-complex Redstone mechanisms that take up space, since the Lone Wizard of Technology apparently doesn't know about miniaturization or circuit boards yet. Besides, even if I could make a gate mechanism using Redstone and Pistons, the gates could only be either 2 blocks high or 2 blocks wide due to how the mechanisms work. If I could just make a reliable portcullis that didn't act or look like arse, the village gates would be fine. Also I think Stonewall is pretty much just a farming village; only Farmers behind these here walls, not a single Priest or Librarian or Blacksmith in sight, not even an Iron Golem. If I could change that, if I could train a Butcher or Blacksmith, then the village could become more like a small town than just a small enclave of farmers. Nonetheless I will try to construct roads that lead to Redwood "Mansion" and any future villages I discover.

I used it a few times, but the mechanism is a little meticulous to build. Result is nice though: He has a newer version out, but his clocks are all screwed up and he has no idea how to fix it. this one still works however.
Yeah, i'm not down with making ridiculously huge machines to achieve a simple means; I want an actual portcullis that just rises up and down, WITHOUT the pathetically-large amount of shit required. Personally I think that connecting several blocks together with something would be a good addition, so they can be moved as one regardless of the size of the desired gate. Using a stack of Sticky Pistons could work in moving it, or just have a programmable "Displacer" block that tells an allocated block-group to move to a certain location, namely to an open position or a closed position. Hell, if things could actually rotate, like in that one mod I forget the name of, one could actually make genuine gates that open like doors.
