Are there still any active tekkit servers out there, if so, please give me an IP?
If one wanted to really make fishing more interesting, the first thing they should do is at least make the fish visible. That way you could see the fish swimming around the water, and if one comes near your bobber or not. It would make more sense then the bobber just suddenly dipping for a second. Make the fish spawn like squids, in bodies of water, except more often and near the player.

Good god, Imagine something like Deadliest catch, that would be hilarious

That would be a neat rare drop. Some kind of big fish that can feed you more or have some other feature for potion making.
I quite enjoy the fishing system of WoW, with fish pool nodes dotted around that give you a chance to catch something other than fish. Imagine fishing up leather armour and written books and shit.

i just really dont want minecraft to have any sea creatures that can harm you due to my insane fear of water

Funfact: Potions of Night Vision remove the darkness from underwater.
didn't everyone think that silverfish were going to spawn in water as hostile mobs
and then it turned out they are just terrible enemies that spawn in a terrible dungeon
nobody was sure what the model was meant to be, yeah

Does this require somekind of special Tekkit client or something?
If you mean walking a thousand blocks in the nether, than no.
If you mean walking a thousand blocks in the overworld, then just record the coordinates of where the portal is in the overworld, divide the X and Z coords by 8, and custom build another nethergate on the new coordinates in the nether.
[editline]a[/editline]
The reason it did that is probably because when it tried to create the new nethergate it was inside of a wall or in midair, so it looked for the nearest open space available, which was already occupied by your first nethergate.
Thanks, this worked.
The reason it was connecting was that the first portal was within 128 blocks of the second portal's destination.

This is the reason I hate sailing with maps.
Fishing for food makes a lot of sense. It's really boring, but you can fish almost anywhere if you keep water with you. If you don't want to kill a land's animals/have no access to animals, then it might be a good idea to set up a little pond.
It would be cool if you could do this

Does anyone know why that even happens? With either normal or map hands becoming broken like that?

How did that even happen if you can't do it right now? Mods?
Does anyone know why that even happens? With either normal or map hands becoming broken like that?
It's actually because you update the playermodel position when you hit F5 or open the inventory. If you just have your hand out when you're on a boat or a minecart then the hand will shift to the left some. It fixes if you get out and hit E/F5 again.

That looks amazingly useful

I know that much, but why does the hand bug actually occur, assuming it is even a bug (that's a fucking horrible feature if not)?
How did that even happen if you can't do it right now? Mods?
Pretty sure it's either a mod, or an edited image.
Concerning fishing, one way to make it better would probably involve having different kinds of fish, as well as having bait so you can attract the different fish. Also, I bet that if fishing were advanced, someone would make a mod where you could land a mermaid, probably whoever thought a certain mod would be a good idea to make (we don't speak of that mod).

Someone should tweet this to dinnerbone

It'd be quite tricky though unless he added it as a seperate entity, since that's basically 2 block IDs taking up a single space.
They could just rewrite the entire block coding so that it would be possible to do that, and therefore be possible to put a different slab on top of another. But they would also have to rewrite redstone code.
Far too complicated for them.
There was an idea a while back of a stone block with a 1 pixel hole in the bottom, and it was a "Hidden Redstone Wire" block and it transmitted redstone power just like wire.
Would you guys be interested in making a new mega build?
I was thinking of a modern one.
Or they could just make it so redstone takes half a block or maybe even none?
I wish they'd make a more compact power system. Maybe a redstone motherboard or something, where you could open up a GUI and make a circuit in that, and the block would function as the circuit you make. It'd be handy for compacting contraptions.

redstone motherblock
They could do something like Little Blocks but restrict it to redstone.
