Use RedPower tubes, it'll fill up the first chest first and so on and so forth. Buildcraft pipes are craptastic.
Definitely use tubes. Just grab a RP2 relay, and make sure it's touching the quarry. Then hook up a tube to the back of said relay (smaller hole).

I think the point of that map was to emulate TF2 in a vanilla snapshot.
And there's no bukkit available for the snapshots either.

Tekkit is nothing more than learning a bunch of new mods. Look up some tekkit tutorials, or go into survival and actually play the game. I would not recommend playing with all the mods in creative first, because then you have no clear progression and you're given fifteen thousand items at once.

Very much this. My friends fired up a Tekkit server to try it all out, and when I joined I screwed around in Creative for a while. I didn't like it because it felt very overwhelming, and I was about to call it quits and go play something else when one of my friends asked me to join his little faction. I switched into survival mode and because I had to work to figure out and obtain all the different mod items, it made a whole lot more sense and was far more enjoyable in the end.

I was all like this adds too much shit into the game, but apart from experimenting in creative, playing survival with technic is amazing since it does add so much. In normal survival I end up getting bored after i get diamond tools, technic adds things for you to do, more things to make and find.
So, I don't know if this is possible given Minecraft, but, what if, on every start-up of minecraft, each connection to a server/start to a SP world, each block ID was randomly generated? It'd certainly remove x-ray from the game.
I'm pretty sure it would also break literally everything

Server and client block id's have to be in sync, so it could only be randomized each time the server started. All the player would have to do is log on, get the new set of ids, configure their x-ray client to use those new ids, and boom, it's rendered useless.

no thats retarded if the client knows what block is what then so does a cheat, doesnt matter if you encrypt it.
the only way to stop xray is not not stream in blocks that a player cant see but that requires too much work and servers wont be able to handle it.
the best you can do is replace ores with stone like a lot of the existing plugins do. too bad they are god awful and don't work a lot of the time so you miss a butt load of ores.

Then all you'd need is access to that mod, decompile it, figure out how it changes the IDs and then code your X-ray to work around that. The ONE thing that would work is the one that just replaces non-visible objects with stone, but it runs the possibility of royally fucking up the map if 2b2t has one of its little hiccups again (ie, all ores turning to stone).
Any suggestions for what the GUIs for the tag detector and the tag itself should offer?

If you're using Bukkit for the server, Use BuyCraft for the donations. And for the plugins, Essentials and PermissionsEX are the two main ones.
