Sadly, textures (for those blocks, anyway) don't work like that. You'll only be able to use a single block of texture.

no new art, just copying, pasting and rotating, it was quickly done in like 2 minutes so maybe someone with more time to spare might do a better job, but i'm sure this will hold you for a little bit

I'm sure of it. I simply don't understand why it keeps doing the same: give the "end of stream" message for any client trying to place mod's blocks. I must've done it over and over for 5 times now.

Yes.
If the client and the server have any content misalignment, it'll result in End of Stream errors.
If you try to make a crafting recipe, and you can see the new product, but trying to make it EOS's you, then it means the server does not have that mod.
If you try to make a crafting recipe, and it instantly EOS's you (before you get a chance to see what it makes), then it means the client (you) do not have that mod.

What's happening now, is that when I try to place the mod item in my inventory, I crash. So that means the server doesn't have the mod installed?

I hope they expand on their "Fill" idea, in official Mojang mod marketplace form.
This will be good. Means we finally get a server software that works, and works well. Also means Bukkit mods will be natively supported in every server.jar. They'll probably also be working on the clientside modding API.

Pulling either lever will open the door, and it's impossible to lock yourself out. This is probably a very obvious answer, but it took me a good while to figure it out so I'm posting it either way.
argggh I really don't understand why the server doesn't see redpower. It's says it's on in Modloader's config files but it's not seeing it
