With the new zombie AI, zombies will have an easier time tracking you down.
I'm fine with zombies being smarter and being able to find inventive routes to get to you, but combine that with being able to open doors and you have a real nuisance. I don't want to always have to place stone blocks in front of my door at night, because it's fuck ugly and inconvenient when I want to get in and out. I also don't want only iron doors to be safe, because iron is harder to come by, they sometimes look fuck ugly, and it's more inconvenient than normal doors in terms of opening mechanics.
No, I don't want zombies to be able to open doors. I don't want to download mods to prevent them from opening doors, not only because I'm never the host of any servers and I don't play single player. Also because I feel that if you're the kind of person that would allow such an extremely frustrating feature because you enjoy making the game harder, then you're the one who should be modding your Minecraft since I'm perfectly fine with the difficulty in Minecraft as it is now.

Not to mention the idea that I can just use a bed, is not possible when you usually play on a server where you're rarely alone and nobody else ever use their bed.
Sorry. My point of view is from singleplayer, I've never played multiplayer. From what I understand, combat is much harder and buggier, so I see how this could be much more of a problem for you than me.

Combat in multiplayer is near impossible unless you have an extremely low-latency connection. Playing on normal mode in singleplayer is a cakewalk compared to playing on easy on multiplayer on my connection.
Sorry if people have asked this before but does anyone have a reason/fix as to why when the game changes from day to night my game lags to the point of it being unplayable?
Usually when I save and shut down it works for a while longer but every day to night transition it returns to its laggy self
Interesting, but i'm more interested about what happend to their base.
Do you really? Someone griefed it and one of the members got really mad and rage quit
I was trying to make an Adventure Craft map, only to find out that it's too slow and clunky.
chunk updates
get speccy and post a picture of it here tia
I have no idea what chunk updates are but my specs:
Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 3.61 GHz
8 GB of RAM
GC: nVidia GeForce GTX 460
And a HDD with half a TB of space left.
I didn't have a problem with it before but I stopped playing for ~3 or 4 months and now I have these problems
Do you have 64-bit java? That may help.

The world is saved into 16x16x128 'chunks' of cubes, when you move around, you either generate or load chunks.

So how do I fix it
You've set performance to "Max FPS"?
So how do I fix it
Sounds like a memory issue. You can try running the 64bit java.

Did you select HD fonts?

The new lighting engine is texture based, the lighting doesn't update chunks like the old days. So it shouldn't be from that.
And by your specs you should be fine, its probably just minecraft being stupid and having memory leaks or something. Maybe the mod optimine, it think that's the name, can help.
Or use 64 bit java, open the 64 bit internet explore, go to java and download it will download the 64 bit version.
Fuck hunger, it's such a pain in the ass to manage if you're just starting out. I'm trying to play on 2b2t and after getting out of the main spawn area I just die of starvation, now I can't even find my way out again, not like there's a single animal around anyway.

Find sheep/spiders, kill said mob, make bed (wool from string) keep sleeping then dying when ur hunger bar depletes?

Oh... That's a bummer for the player and his base.

Probably not anything super strange, but I found it interesting.
I found a triple-chest in a double-dungeon once
It was L-shaped
I wonder if they fixed that

I'd do that but I'm lucky if I can find just 3 mobs ever 500 meters.

Hmm, do you have any other mods installed? And you could also try installing Optifine instead, it provides everything MCPatcher does.

DON'T LOOK HIM IN THE EYES
Or you'll wake up in a North Korean prison camp
I spawned myself a bunch of cats, thinking that they would just sit around my house and be cats, but they teleport to me whenever I walk around. I feel a bit like Gaddafi now because I have a bodyguard detail full of pussies.
I was kinda hoping that if I put torches on his eyes on the other side they would glow, I did not get a very satisfying result.
Oh I have another picture too.

On the other hand building it on a mountain looks awesome.
Optifine should really be included in vanilla.
It's just one of those mods that you should have even if you hate mods.

I'd love me some mipmapping in vanilla.

Sorry, with your texture pack and the blocks you've used, I can't comprehend the structure. Is it a T-flipflop with an XOR? Because of so I can just build my own.
