Has anoyne done anything or seen anything cool done with computercraft?
Has anoyne done anything or seen anything cool done with computercraft?
I think I saw someone playing Quake in-game, but that might have been Garry's Mod.
I think I saw someone playing Quake in-game, but that might have been Garry's Mod.
I have seen a few farms and things, that seems cool but I just want to see what it is limited to.
Just to confirm, the guys aren't gonna put out a snapshot this week; they're at GDC. But on the bright side, hopefully they'll use the extra days after GDC finishes, and the stuff they learned there, to put out a snapshot next week with something new in it, as well as the usual fixes and cool beans they do.
Hnnngh literally spend my entire day making the start of the the 3 tribal villages that'll form the basis of my factional pvp server. You can't see the awesome spawn or the market town though. And the outposts have yet to be built. Just the tribal village centres really, they'll be expanded with towny. Also.. anyone know how many slots a 2.6ghz quadcore, 8gb ram with 100mb/s down and 90mb/s up should be able to churn up? I'm aiming for 30 people as lag free as possible. Or upwards to 50 if its still playable.

Yes it says 60. I was hoping for some experience rather than an algorithm. :v:

Oh my god its impossible to play this game, it crashes from not enough memory every 5 or so minutes. Also does anybody know how to make instant jungle trees? I tried with bonemeal and it made mediocre sized trees, I want some huge ones.
Oh my god its impossible to play this game, it crashes from not enough memory every 5 or so minutes.
INVASIVE: If you're using a 64bit OS, use a 64-bit java. Preferably Java 7. Uninstall all other versions of java first. If you want to dedicate more memory to minecraft, use McPatcher on a CLEAN minecraft.jar and hit the "options" tab and enter an amount (within the amount of RAM you have) into the box and Hit PATCH under the main "Mods" tab. You can then mod as you see fit after this. NON-INVASIVE: (via video options menu) Render/Fog Distance on normal/short/tiny. Set Graphics to fast Set Particles to none/minimal Toggle Advance OpenGL on/off :eng101:
Oh my god its impossible to play this game, it crashes from not enough memory every 5 or so minutes.
Are you using a high-res texture pack? Have you dedicated more RAM to the Java heap? If you answered 'yes' to either or both or the above questions, stoppit. The higher-res your texture pack is, the more VRAM it'll use. And if you set -Xmx too high, some of Minecraft's memory could get dumped to page file, which destroys performance. If you aren't using -Xmx, you might want to try it. But again, don't set it to high or it'll just make things worse.
I'm using default and I just changed some settings. Should be good now. Still want to make instant jungle trees.
Someone should make a mod where trees grow like wheat; in "stages". If you try to cut it down too early, you either get nothing back, or get significantly less wood.
I love finding the NPC Villages, I've found 3 in the last 20 minutes and one has a population of about 22 people. No Iron Golem, though.
I'm guessing cartograph doesn't work in the latest update. Anyone have a similar map thing that can create isometric maps? nevermind (again)
Going back to my old world was fun, I made it before colored wool and all that. No villages or anything, I spawned in a few villagers and let them populate the city. Also found some love looking statue of a man and a woman and replaced it with a super meat boy

Making the top part of a stair a table leg sucks, trying to put a stair piece on a half slab DOESN'T work no matter how hard I try it just hovers above it like an asshole.
Speaking of beans, cocoa beans farming please yes soon Jeb.
Yep, they should do that. Also, there should be more things that use Cocoa Beans in crafting, since Cookies are essentially useless junk food at the moment. Maybe have it be an ingredient in Alchemy, acting as the opposite of the Fermented Spider Eye by "purifying" the effect as opposed to corrupting it.

Would make them a VERY hot item then.
I think there are a lot of items in Minecraft that should be implemented in alchemical context. Cocoa-Beans, Mushrooms, Inksacks, maybe even flowers.

I may be late, but I've just heard a cave ambient in a multiplayer game. Finally. Edit: All right, this was added in the snapshot 12w07a. Still cool that these can be heard on Multiplayer.
