I don't think it would be that bad to make everything that uses wood to match the color of the planks that are used to make it. Be nice to have different colored tool handles, fences, doors, hatches, torches, ladders, stairs, chests, and what not. Its those small details that make games really shine too.

I just had a really good idea. A amnesia type game in minecraft. The whole thing would be at bedrock so that it's always really dark, and at certain areas where it's design to have light there is a light shaft to the surface so it looks like the area is lit up more. There will be cave spider player trackers to track the proximity to the dark areas, and if the player stays in dark areas for an extended period of time it will start to lower a 'Sanity Meter'. There will be note blocks placed across the entire map, and it will sound like a heart beat. If the player's sanity is at maximum, it will only beat every once and a while with a soft sound, and the lower it is the more common it is and the louder it is, until it's extremely loud and then the player will die from some way like TNT or something.

I'd be running a server by now, but I'm still pressed in how to do decent, 24/7 hosting for minimal cost. Plus mods.

Sheffcraft (a Minecraft server of course) has no tp's. It is factions, yet if you want to play normally you can, we will protect your house to stop others trying to raid you even when you just want to play normal survival.
Unfortunately, the server went down, and really doesn't want to boot back up remotely.So until the server owner goes and boots it manually up, it's not going up. I've been trying for a couple of days now trying to reboot it remotely, but no luck what so ever.

When that guy was doing free servers around Christmas last year, the servers were on Elpishost. Sadly, they don't seem to do much in the way of mods, besides what they support.
