Won't grow back as long as the dirt isn't connected to other grass

Actually there needs to be a 2-wide gap, and grass can also grow for an infinite distance directly downwards, too.
Does anyone know how I can remove player names on a Minecraft server? I tried using HeroSneak, but it doesn't work for some reason.

...while losing the bucket. If 32 coal goes ~10km, think of what 100 fuel does. Then again, I did swipe four buckets of lava during village trips, conveniently. I think I'll use two of them, just to make inventory room. To as far as my laptop allows before overheating...and hoping it doesn't end me stuck over this ocean of the same distance. Still no sight of landmasses for kilometers out!
