Hell, in my vanilla 1.2.4 world I tried "poopoocacapeepeeshire" and it gave me a map with pretty much every biome in easy walking range except for an ocean, woodland or mushroom biome. Puts you right next to a jungle, which is right next to a Taiga, both of which are right next to a desert, and there's plenty of caverns to explore and mine that eventually lead you to a mineshaft.

yes but other game developing companies are generally much bigger and also generally "subcontract" the games to smaller teams rather than notch

Does anyone know a playable Lag-free,stable, european server? It shouldnt have too much plugins. Simple and clean. I dont really like that servers with the Huge spawn areas and you have to go through a 1 Hour tutorial to build.
I knew a server like that once :( Its down nao

Mine, But I crashed it, I got bored so I decided to spawn around 6000 snow golems at spawn. It wasn't the best idea I've ever had. But for when i do manage to get it back up the IP is server.sheffcraft.com
Hey guys, I recently earned 65 dollars on paypal and I wanted to buy minecraft. I've tried it out and it seems fun , but is it worth the money? I will most probably be the only one in my friends group that has it, so if you have any tips on which server to start playing if I start it would be greatly appreciated. Also, is it truly as addictive as some people say?

I will agree that Minecraft's success may have made Notch lose some of his focus on other projects, but I think it's great that he's experimenting with other ideas. When you have money to spend, which Notch does, you can afford to try out ideas that you wouldn't otherwise be able to.
Edit: Just to remind you, Minecraft started out as a hobby project with no real plan and look how far it's come.
