Thanks, i hope it will be there soon, i would love those new ninja clothes and voices.
The game blackscreens after the first initiation cutscene, when they tell you to shoot the targets. I have to open task manager and close it from there, it's annoying. I can't play without doing initiation :c
So I got the Kingmaker, and am kind of wishing I'd unlocked the katana instead. It's not that the Kingmaker's a bad weapon, it's just that its aim is considerably worse if you don't aim down its sights, and most of my loadouts heavily feature weapons that have a strict "don't bother aiming down sight" policy (shotguns, Thunder Dragon, Shredder in close quarters or Jackhammer if I've got a red-dot sight on it in similar situations), so having to stop and aim throws me off and make me waste as much time as I save by switching to it. The Desperado's a better sidearm for me (with extended mags) - it's not more accurate than the Kingmaker, but the sheer volume of bullets fired by that gun makes the resulting cone of lead fatal at decent ranges (for my purposes, anyway) and with decent room for error.
I miss the days of Doom, when you could hip-fire a plasma cannon and the only reason it wouldn't hit dead-center would be if it auto-aimed at an unnoticed Pain Elemental. *sigh*
EDIT: Also, the Kingmaker has a couple of weird mods: Hollow Point, which increases damage against unarmored targets but decreases it against armored ones (need to find out by how much for each), and Full Auto Conversion, which basically turns it into an SMG (albeit one with a tiny clip by SMG standards; yes I know the technical term is machine pistol now shut up). Its mod selection aside from those is as diverse as most firearms, although the absence of B.O. Sniffer confuses and enrages me.

I agree with the kingmaker being a bit odd. I want to keep using the weapon because it feels good... but it's extremely difficult to use. It takes 2 to 3 clips for killing heavies, even if you land 3 or 4 headshots.
Is there a way to fix the connection failure thing? it literally takes 15 minutes or more to get into a game

Monolith have gone completely silent on the issue, its been affecting loads of people over at their forums
Finally completed all the challenges for the bucaneer. Fuck... YES!

I love gold. :D
I want to throw money at this so bad, it looks awesome, but they can't just take an hour out of their day to find where the variable for the fov is, and point it to a line in a config file.

I'm "close" to getting gold Thunder Dragon paint... got 1000/1000 kills for that part of the achievement (and obviously 50/50 missile kills), but as far as multikills go I've only made it to 29 (out of what I expect to be 100; the Stage 4/5 goal is 40). I'm praying I won't be stuck grinding multikills for ages at lv100 before I can accept a promotion...
EDIT: Also, I bought the Hollow Points mod for the Kingslayer out of curiosity - I didn't have a chance to test it without Marksman, but with Marksman it does 41 damage / shot to flesh, and 20 damage / shot to armor.

That sounds like it would make the weapon actually worth using. You would just have to pull out a shotgun or rifle for the armored dudes.
What exactly does promoting do anyway? It resets your level and customization options but what are the benefits?
Here's the wiki article, but I'll provide a tl;dr anyway.
Benefits of promotion:
-New calling card background, new patch (that bluish thing with a typhoon logo on your calling card? That changes based on rank)
-New mascot (promotions #1, 5, and 10 only)
-Ability to continue gaining experience to level 101 and beyond (and get the phrases / backgrounds / symbols you'll pick up at odd places along the way, like level 475 or whatever)
-There are not enough unlock keys to unlock everything at lv100; for example, since the patch I'm pretty sure someone at lv100 is still two unlocks short of getting all weapons, and I know that I won't be able to unlock spring shoes until I get a promotion (not to mention the plethora of unusable psych profiles). Getting a promotion lets you "respec" by picking different unlocks to lose out on, albeit very very slowly and to a very minor extent.
What you lose:
-All Feat of Progress prowess, except for Lifetime achievements
-All loadout unlocks and unlock keys (weapons, faces, body types, psych profiles, everything. Wiki claims voices aren't affected, which seems odd.)
-All costume coins (you keep the costume parts, so spend everything before you accept the promotion)
What you keep (lol copy-paste):
-All Lifetime Feat progress.
-All unlocked Costume items.
-All Calling Card elements.
-All Mascots.
-All Weapon Paint Jobs. (ed- This one's important. If you're close to mastering a weapon, finish it off before promotion and you'll get to keep that gold paint - don't, and you'll have a lot of work to do next time around.)
-Gang reputation level.
-Stamps of Excellence.
-Challenge progress.
-All unlocked Voices.
So when is this fabled fov patch coming out, it's been [In submission] for a while.
So when is this fabled fov patch coming out, it's been [In submission] for a while.
it only went into submission this past week. And with it having to go through double certification (steam and GFLW) it probably won't see light for 2 weeks or so, unfortunately.
The FoV patch is out! It also fixed a bunch of little things.
I am going to buy this game
...later
OH SHI--

The school quarter starts on Monday, and I'm taking 20 credits... :suicide:
This game is fucking amazing. You all need to buy it.
Getting it this weekend on the PC once I get money in the bank.
This will be fucking awesome.
Going to purchase in about an hour when my cash gets into my damn account.
Any general gameplay tips for me to keep in mind before I play?

Avoid being spotted by enemies with glider rigs, because getting divebombed is not fun.

If you don't like what you see in terms of attachments get the armor peircing, iirc they don't have a downside.
Bought it, watching Totalbiscuit's new video on the game while I wait for the download. My friend bought it too.
This is going to kick ass.
Also you will probably get the framerate bug because i don't think they fixed it yet. If you do turn your graphic settings all the way down and run the game from the file on your computer.
Got about 110 minutes of gameplay in before I've had to tear myself off in order to sleep.
Loving the game, one of the best shooters I've played in a long time.

What are you talking about, divebombing is so fucking fu- Oh, you're on the receiving end :v:
The game's 50% off on Steam right now, so if you're interested, now would be a better time than later. This includes DLC, so if you already own the game, you might want to reconsider the Dress-Up Pack or the XP boosts.

For some reason, penetrating ammo for shotguns - and only shotguns - does less damage to fleshy targets. For all other guns, though, you're right, it has no downside.
That one hit sniper's as annoying as it was in the closed beta.
Also, I always thought this was a bug, but I guess it's not, the female characters by default use male voices, (though every body type does this, regardless of gender) back in the beta I assumed it was like that because they hadn't yet recorded default voices for the females, but I guess they just kept them at the male voices for default because it was humorous or something. Shame you have to actually get an unlock to change the female's voices to something more appropriate.
I'm up to 9.1 hours of play since I bought it less than a day ago. Fucking brilliant game, I made 4 friends buy it so we could all play together.
