I never really liked the game from the start, it felt ridiculously imbalanced towards heavy people with gliders, haven't played it since a week after release. Still, it's a game I paid money for and now it's going f2p barely even half a year after it came out.
Neat! but why do i have to convert the game content?
How do I get this piece of garbage out of my games list? Trying to uninstall it does nothing. It just dumped itself there.
i am happy that it went free to play i didn't feel like spending money on a game i might not like.
Question: Does matchmaking actually work now? Because when I played last month, I could literally never get into a game. It'd load everything up, then when I went into the game with a lobby full of people it would give me a "Cannot connect to server" error or something.
I can play just fine.
If it is f2p now, why is it saying it can't convert because I don't have a subscription?
You have to restart steam [editline]30th August 2012[/editline] I always wanted to play this game and now that it went F2P I installed it and it is amazing, most fun I had in a while Playing as a light character with glider and a Katana makes you a slaughtering machine
Playing as a light character with glider and a Katana makes you a slaughter machine
Yeah, And the only cost is your Honor, Dignity and soul.
Someone should make a Facepunch steam group so we can all play together.
this is one of those love-hate games isn't it, it's either you love it or you absolutely despise it.
This is a neat game but it plays really safe. It does nothing new or original, it's just a mish mash of various mechanics that work. Really solid and satisfying guns and gunplay, though. The fact it includes a rocket launcher that handles like one from quake in this day and age is a fucking godsend.
Am I the only one that doesn't understand the DLC list in steam?
Still has somewhat of a lag problem with the main menu and the game sometimes.. (it's not my computer, its brand new).
?? So they seperated F2P servers from the customers who actually bought the game? da fuq
?? So they seperated F2P servers from the customers who actually bought the game? da fuq
Yes, So now all people that bought the game have to choose between keeping their items, setups and costums but play with a deserted playerbase (I swear there's only 20 people playing at most) or abandon everything and play F2P mode.
Does this have any consolitis? I'm downloading F2P now, wondering if it's capped in any way.
http://www.gothamcityimpostors.com/migration-to-steam At least people who purchased it aren't completely screwed over (we might not be screwed over at all, I haven't actually seen what we get). Many people probably already worked this out but it looks like they might have ditched GFWL altogether now too.
I downloaded it. Hopefully it's good and not just a 6gb waste...

But. I already bought all the DLC for the non f2p version. :( And you're going to make me purchase it again?
But. I already bought all the DLC for the non f2p version. :( And you're going to make me purchase it again?
Look at your DLC tab in the F2P version. You should have everything if you bought the original game. Edit:Nevermind, Not everything. But you still get plenty. This game sure does have a lot of DLC.
So if I actually own the game I don't get to play with a living playerbase?
So if I actually own the game I don't get to play with a living playerbase?
Just play the F2P version, You lose your progress from the original game but they give you some of the paid DLC.
I did play a bit of this on the Xbox, and for the most part it was enjoyable. Always went light, couldn't stand being slow and bulky. I'm surprised this went Free to Play.

It gets repopulated again during free weekends, but there hasn't been one for a while and now very few people play.

Regardless, i think the PS3/Xbox situation wasn't too good either. That and it suffered from some horrific frame rate issues... Particularly at Crime Alley.
Just played my first match, took like 5 minutes until the match finally started and then it was lagging so bad that everyone lost connection after 3 minutes. So far, not impressed. Game seemed to be fun though.

It really just depended on what day and time it was you were trying to play.
Oh man, I'm loving the shurikens.
