Medal of Honor (2010) - "Call of Honor: Medal of Duty"

I have preordered it for PS3, so i'm going to get the HD remake of Medal of Honor: Frontline.
Well. I played the PC beta. Didn't much care for it, but I have a feeling it would play better on consoles. I dislike the 3-class system.
Preordering today.
I pre-ordered it. I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a mistake since I usually research my purchases before getting them.
Also I just watched the first singleplayer level on gametrailers. It took about 50 minutes to get through it but subtracting repeat times after death I'd say it'd take about 40 minutes on that level.
There's leaning, sliding, and firing mode selectors, as well as the fact that if you reload mid-mag you keep the chambered bullet, which are nice details.
Looks atmospheric enough as well and the duration is supposed to be about 8-10 hours (although that still feels short but whatever, most fps's are shorter nowadays.
What I still don't get is why they put MP on the Frostbite engine. Frostbite is mainly for sound and destruction, and since the unreal engine does a good enough job with sound and there's a distinct lack of destruction in MP, I see no reason why they used it. Hell, Singleplayer looks so much nicer graphically compared to multiplayer.

"A credible shooter that's more realistic than CoD, with multiplayer that sees DICE on top form."

Meh, UE3 has HDR Audio with 7.1 surround support and PhysX is good for destruction which it also has. There's alternatives to PhysX too.
Planet Xbox 360 Review: 7.7 (which is quite strange considering how much he praises the SP; imo he's a bit biased towards CoD but whatever)

"Medal of Honor is the result of two developers and two completely different games, each of which feel disconnected from the other and end up weakening the overall package. Not so much that you shouldn't play it, but enough for it to be pointed out and to dock the score. The top strength of Medal of Honor is in the single-player campaign, and Danger Close has done an incredible job of putting together a tribute to the Special Forces community, honoring their many sacrifices and daily dangers. The same can't be said for the effort DICE has put forth with multiplayer, as it feels unpolished and in some regards unbalanced and unfinished."
Playstation Official Magazine Australia Review: 8/10
"The Medal of Honor series has been a bit of a shambles ever since Medal of Honor: Frontline. The quality of this contemporary reboot, then, might surprise you. The presentation is terrific. It's a far more realistic and compelling single-player campaign than either Modern Warfare 2 or Bad Company 2; we were hugely engrossed and thoroughly recommend it." [Nov. 2010, p.60]
Can't wait, to bad I can't get it on release date. D:
My impulse preorder seems worthwhile. Stupid cod fanboys putting the game down over the MP which was a shitty beta.
I'm pretty sure the multiplayer won't improve that much from the beta but the singleplayer looks fun.

I'm completely sure that the MP in the full game will be exactly like the beta's MP, except with more maps.
Only getting the game for Single Player. MP on the PC beta was terrible.
Snipers. Snipers everywhere.
My dad who's about as much of a gamer as me pre-ordered this about a month and half ago, he's pretty hyped about it, and I'm hoping to try it out as well tomorrow. Looks pretty great. :buddy:
although i was worried about the multiplayer from everyone bitching about it being similar to cod and bc2 or whatever, i'm definitely going to get this. medal of honor campaigns are always good and i haven't had a multiplayer fps since march with bc2 so it'll be fresh. the fact that frontline comes with it for ps3 is cool too cause i loved that game.
Eh ended up (trying) to cancel my preorder. After reading that nothing's changed since the beta in multiplayer and that the singleplayer is eh I think I'll pass for now. I might get it when the price drops a bit.
Or for Christmas
word of mouth isn't terrific so far

If the PC version came with Allied Assault + Expansions I would buy this for that and the BF3 beta.
Am I the only one who actually enjoyed the beta?
Have you played MW2/BC2?
If no it might be enjoyable.
Also is it just me or do DICE not know what props are?
[editline]01:10AM[/editline]
It's bordering on plagiarism at times.
I like how the story for this gets a 6.5 while MW2's story got over a 9 on gametrailers
Mostly interested in this game for the singleplayer tbh
The Multiplayer (Beta) never really worked and what I've seen is plain shit, the few minutes I got to play I feeled totally overpowered. I hope my hopes for SP aren't proven wrong.
So I've heard it's pretty terrible, but not a great deal on the multiplayer. Anyone been playing it over in the States / Beta testers on here that can give me the heads up on it? I don't know whether or not I should spend £40 on this with Fallout New Vegas and even Black Ops around the corner.

It scored a [sp]8.1[/sp], but hey, the score doesn't matter. Just listen to the criticism.
We were furiously F5'ing this review at work earlier, and we're very confused.
They totalled it, ripped it apart and seemed to hate it and then give it a score like that?
I just bought this game for the Battlefield 3 Beta.

I don't even see any EA/DICE ads on that page??
the IGN review is such biased bullshit. They've been covering the game but at almost every preview they've always had to include something about Call of Duty then when the review came they give a "Passable" rating. If it isn't a FPS title from Activision that the 12 year olds will clamor for then they will obviously give it a bad score.

It`s a pretty avarage game to say at least.
Maybe it doesn`t suck that hard, but it feels pretty crappy because we`re being spoiled with so many better shooters these days ( And not only Call of Duty )
