Oh fuck, these guys were the best at open-world stuff, and one of my favorite developers

EA didn't own them when they made the first one.
They forced them to release the second one too early, and then were surprised when no one bought the glitchy half-done game.
Obviously, EA had a reason for doing this, they weren't just being hateful dickwads.

right, their games haven't sold well since EA started running them into the ground, so consequently they get shut down.
Didn't Pandemic make Battlezone 1 and 2?
Well, hopefully we'll still be seeing another Battlefront soon if they make another after Elite Squadron.

I did genuinely mean to write publish rather than produce.
At any rate a massive publisher like EA is great for games like those listed. The funds and world class marketing ensure that games like this can not only be developed, but bring in the profit that they deserve. EA also has a say in the direction that the game is developed, and judging by the ever increasing quality of games being published by EA I'd definitely say they're getting better at it.
Compare that to say, Activision and I'd definitely take EA as the lesser of two evils, in fact I would hardly even consider them an evil.

After Activision fucked up MW2 i'm guessing that EA went "They got away with THAT!!!! people have come to expect us to be shitty and activision want to do THAT!!!! Oh thats it! Shits on Mothufuka! Let's see how bad we can go? Who made some decent games but now nobody cares about? PANDEMIC! OF COURSE! We can cut them because of their shitty work as of late and people will rage because of nostalgia!

Just because you can't play sports doesn't make sports games shitty, EA makes the best soccer games imo and they're worth the money
I'm not really bothered that Pandemic have been closed down. Mercenaries is pretty good, Destroy All Humans is really funny but a rather "meh" game. I loved the first two Battlefront games, but Pandemic weren't making the 3rd one anyway so it's no loss.
