Maybe I'll download this and see if I can create anything. I'm pretty lazy and addicted to playing games so I doubt I'll get anywhere though.
Would be extremely helpful if someone made a video tutorial.

I'm still pretty amazed by the tech demo of UE3 that was shown a long while ago, (2007 I think?). I wish they'd release that, or someone went about creating a similar demo.
Pretty cool that they've released it for free too, I remember hearing about it costing over $300,000 initially.

Economic Crysis these days :v:
Well decided to download and install, but fucking MSChart doesn't install for some reason. I will try again tommorow.
Also, this is pretty awesome, never messed with anything like this before, but i guess it's never too late.
Ball demo not working

Won't install, anyone else get that?
NO. These are the standalone binaries.
you're a fucking idiot
what's funny is that the first game to be made with the udk (its on the homepage of their site) uses the ue3 sounds still such as cars exploding and health pick-ups.
downloaded it from another website, still same problem...hmmm.
This weekend I will start the bad boy up and see what I can do before I'm left in the dust.
Here are some tutorials I found on UE3.

I can't wait till Crytek pushes out their engine for this price.
I will be a god
ITT teenage gamers that think they can make a game with a commercial engine over the weekend

First one is obviously making a game over the weekend.
Second one, he's just trying to learn how to utilize the UDK so he doesn't get left behind all of the modders/indie designers coming in?
This will unleash a new era of indie development in the PC gaming market like never before.
I can't use tools other than Copy and Paste.
This is useless for me.

Yes.

I already know how to utilize 98% of the CryEngine 2. It's learning how to script thats the hard part.
Even though the engine has a nice flowgraph system that pretty much makes it easy to do anything in-engine
downloading now, see what cool things I can make.
or uninstall it in rage, because it's more complicated than hammer.

can, I use google sketch up, to make models, for it?
This eats up my ram.
This eats up my ram.
Really? I only have 512mb and it actually runs semi pain free, I can use it pretty well actually.
Can't figure out how to use it properly thanks to my Low IQ,Can't even figure out what to click to start it up. >_>
Nevermind
If you used the tutorials it links you to on the start-page it's easy. I actually prefer it a little bit over hammer.

Aren't those tutorials just for the level editor?
How would you make a game from scratch?
On the animation page it has this...
"Inverse Kinematics solver for calculating limb pose based on a goal location (e.g. for foot placement)."
Sounds awesome. :)
