Holy fuck guys this thing has a modeling program JUST FOR TREES!
Hot damn this is some AA+ stuff.
Hey do you see textures on your trees? When I try to make a tree it has no textures.

Nope. I think you have to give it textures somehow.
Can the trees and plants have jigglebones like in crysis where when you walk through them they move.
Or even just like how it is in halo 3 and barely jigglebones or an animation.

By default probably no. You can try using softbody, but I dunno how that would work.
Figured out how to make soft and rigid meshes, light the map, build the map (duh), and create a starting point. I want to find a tutorial for coding so I can change the camera, particles, skybox, and shaders (post processing).
I was going to say, " But I already have this" and then I remembered UT3 Editor is not the same as UT3 Engine.
I'm kind of sick of only seeing World Tutorial #273. Hopefully some scripting tutorials will pop up soon, or maybe even a book or two.
Messing with the world editor is fun, though. The editor is much better than UT3's, and destructible objects are nice.
Just made the game 2.5d Awe yea.
Camera has a side view and the players aim is locked to the z axis.
Has anyone started using the SDK to make something?
Can someone link me and everyone to a website that displays Unreal Engine 3 Mods that I could download and play? I currently don't have any games that use the engine, but would love to get a-hold of free mods that use this engine.
I had to use 7-Zip to extract the files from the exe, but it works now, I just cant find the damn editor.

Same..
An error message pops up when I try to install it.

About SP1?
DLing, lets see how hard this is compared to Hammer.
It appears to be quite a hefty download, should be done in about an hour. :/

I'll check...
It says "Could not load file or assembly 'Accessibility, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a' or one of it's dependencies. The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest."
this is seriously starting to challenge my inner source fanboy.

I know exactly what you mean. That universal brush is pretty epic if you get to use it right. I'm kind of annoyed at how they set up the content browser with textures though. For some reason, I don't have access to about half of them even though they are there.
I am also kind of annoyed at the fact that I can't access Borderland's textures even though I own the game.
Clearly you don't know what and SDK is, and what an engine is.
I'm talking about one that cost like 1,000,000 dollars are so. Or at least the license for it.
Ugh... still downloading. My downloader said it was 1 hour at first, but it changed to 3 hours shortly after I started the download.
Only half an hour now.
So, who will be the first to design: Fuck shit up!?
So, who will be the first to design: Fuck shit up!?
It's been said before, Fuck Shit Up would NOT work well in this engine. UT3 does NOT handle destruction well.
Well, you CAN make things destructible with prescripted destructible meshes. I saw something yesterday that let you split rigid meshes into pieces to be destroyed. The pieces were predetermined everytime you played but you could still destroy it nonetheless.

Select the texture, right-click and click create new material. Right click the new material and select edit material. Then, use the mouse to pan to the upper-left a bit, and drag a line from the black box on the left to the diffuse box.
Of course, that's just a quick material. You can also add special effects like bump mapping if the texture has a normal map, too.

The pieces come off only at the place you aim, so it feels like it is actually dynamic geometry.

And a Tutorial:

Also, if I am correct, PhysX Destructible objects allow for dynamic destruction. The guy who made the fracture tutorial is going to make a tutorial on those, so keep an eye out.
Okay. I understand how to make materials now, but how do you apply the normal material to the new material? I want that nice bump.
They shoud've released UE2 for free instead, or both.

So what's character height? Any dev textures like HL2's?

godammn make some contra on this engine
