People should read this thread before posting/sending in any bugs.
It's okay. Except that I recieved 3 BSoD's from it. :(
I hope they put shields in, will add something new and fresh to the game.
Terrorist rush to the bomb, making a circle with shields, 4 covering the sides and 1 covering the top :v:
Terrorist rush to the bomb, making a circle with shields, 4 covering the sides and 1 covering the top :v:
To bad that wont work against grenades.
What, it doesn't cover you from grenades ? :(
What, it doesn't cover you from grenades ? :(
And only CT's can buy riot shields.
I like seeing the "pros" cry about the beta.
so,with the new engine upgrades, can we see the result? if it's possible and if they are applied?
I like seeing the "pros" cry about the beta.
I love hearing the "noobs" talk about iron sights, perks, and sprint.
In my opinion, CSS needs a sprint feature replacing or being used as well as walk. Who the hell walks? As far as I know, they don't mask footsteps.
I don't play much counter strike, though I want to be in the beta. However, if it is like some said (updated graphics, nothing else), I can probably wait till it comes out. By that, it should be out on both mac and pc on the next wedsnesday after TF2 releases.
I was on my shit computer because my brother had my good computer. I get it back tomorrow so I was like "Gonna wait" then tomorrow the slots were filled so I was like "Gonna hate!" [editline]09:32PM[/editline] I haven't been able to post that's why I'm talking about when there were slots.
Already bitched about CS:S being the most overrated game of all time once, so I won't post it again. What I will say would be things that would help improve the game as it is. 1. Customizable player models with real voice acting. Why not have a TF2 type of option at switching emblems, colors, and clothing types while selecting one of 10 or so voice actors? It would add options to allow players to have some personality in the game, depending on what side you're on, and using people without mics to use the bots to speak for them. Would be nice if it would allow certain types of skins to be on them depending on the map. Urban levels have urban cammo and snow levels have white cammo as well as a neutral style. Also would be nice to have Nick say "Grenade Out!" when one throws the H E out. The weapons could also be bought with subtle upgrades that cost more money, like +10% accuracy or a silencer. 2. Remake the maps and add new ones. CS:S and the original was made 6 and 10 years ago in a time when games were still in that Quake\Doom era of blocky style maps with next to no details in it. Some of the maps have that 'amateur' sense to it that they were made quickly and didn't want to put in things like signs, grafiti, or little things that would make them more interesting to look at. I understand it's a semi-fast paced shooter, but maps like Dust look barren. Nitpicking, but the geometry doesn't seem quite right either, like in the middle of the Italy map inside the apartments. The area is squared off with longer then normal hallways and a couple rooms that serve as descent arenas, but isn't architecturally sound. I thought there weren't many maps, but I went back and counted. 18 maps and it seems most people seems to only want to play a few like Dust and Office, maybe a couple others. Never played the others except within HL2 mods. It would be nice if there was a smart vote map\rotation script that lists 5 random maps or extension, but keeps the recently played 7 off it. 3. Gameplay has changed a little for the better, but guns need to be tweaked. You move while aiming the rifles faster and the weapons are relatively accurate. Weapons need to be tweaked though, because after playing with the pistols I've noticed that the crosshairs don't really expand to show where the bullets will hit and the recoil is insane when you fire off too many rounds. This might be good for trimming people down that like to hammer on the fire button, but it's not noticable in game unless you test it. Recoil needs to either be more consistent or the crosshairs need to be tweaked to show how inacurate your shot will be. I know people will bitch about it, but this is the first time I've ever noticed this and I just like more consistency in weapons. If the guns, aiming, and crosshairs 'jumped' I wouldn't think this would be a problem. 4. More "Friendly" and "Expert" game modes. It will get very boring if there was only just the 2 modes, if you can call them that since there's only a slight change in objective. It seems like a lot of pub servers treat this game like a deathmatch game while the "Pro" players treat it like a tactical shooter on Expert difficulty. There needs to be a little more of a divide that should cater to the pub lurkers, the pro servers, and everyone in between. Some more fun game modes, even ones that have nerfed weapons so that people could fight back. It would be nice, like the well equiped T's have to defend a location against the poorly equiped CTs. T's have 1 life while the CTs have a dozen or so lives. Experiments like that would make the game more fun and acessible to other groups of people and would make this game really worth the $20 that many put down on it. I'm probably gonna be rediculed for posting this and suggesting changes, but fuck it. I had fun a couple times only to be spoiled by it's flaws and some of the people playing it, so I want to see it be better. TL\DR: CS:S + TF2 + L4D2 = Awesome
In my opinion, CSS needs a sprint feature replacing or being used as well as walk. Who the hell walks? As far as I know, they don't mask footsteps.
Yes it does. It makes you quiet.
blah blah
I sincerely hope you're not serious, because these ideas are shitty.
Hopefully when this is released in it's entirety. TF2 won't be needed for the bomb explosion.
The information about the shield has always been in the vanilla CS:S cache, don't get your hopes up guys.
Already bitched about CS:S being the most overrated game of all time once, so I won't post it again. What I will say would be things that would help improve the game as it is.
People always make posts about CS:S and DOD:S that basically add up to "I've got it, just remake the entire game!" The update they're doing now requires mostly coding and a very small amount of artwork, which is something they can easily hand off to an indie dev that also happens to be in Seattle. They're not gonna put any more resources into it than they want to.
Whenever I try to launch the beta, it pauses for a second before coming up with "hl2.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
This game is still the most frustrating shooter I have ever played. I don't see why people like it. So much Elitism around...
The learning curve isn't for everyone. It's fun, but not until you're good at it unfortunately.
The learning curve isn't for everyone. It's fun, but not until you're good at it unfortunately.
Even in matches where I play well, I still don't enjoy it, every part of it feels so repetitive and tedious after a while, it just becomes boring. A kill in Counter Strike is rarely as satisfying as one in TF2 or DoD:S. That, and generally the players themselves are obnoxious, abuse certain weapons, and use shit tactics. It isn't really a fun game, its like competitive sports but comprised mostly of lonely and angry nerds who hate the game that they play but do it anyways.
I was really hoping for some balancing with this update :(
I was really hoping for some balancing with this update :(
How is it not already balanced?
Try playing CS 1.6, the kids in that are x10 more elitist.
