PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games! (WARNING: LARGE IMAGES AHOY!)

No Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, no Prince of Persia, no Caesar III and no Aquaria!?
Any top list is opinionated, don't take it as an absolute.
Where the fuck is Bioshock?

Hey, Supreme Commander 2 made it to 2. :buddy:
Definitely deserves it.

It's number 34...
Dungeon Keeper is actually on a top 100 list? I approve of this so much. I can't say I approve of WoW being 2nd on the list, even as a WoW player myself.. A top 10 spot for sure but I wouldn't put it below Number 5.
top games are call of duty and halo
starcraft ranks eightieth place
fuck you pcgamer
fuck you

My mistake, then. :saddowns:
Deservers a better spot than Half-Life, though. :colbert:
I find myself agreeing. I didn't find Half Life 2's gameplay to be all that engaging. And I suppose that ultimately, if a game isn't fun to play then it isn't worth playing.
I get bored to tears when I play Mass Effect 2.
I can tell I'm going to be criticized to death for saying that.

I hate WRPGs, and I don't like Half-Life or Half-Life 2 (to a lesser extent).

I feel like the only person who thinks they did almost everything wrong in ME2 and that ME1 was superior in almost every way

I could spent 20 minutes overanalyzing how the streamlining of the gameplay coincides with the faster pace and tone of the sequel. I won't and will simply say that I agree with you!
I DO hope they find a good balance between action and rpg for ME3 to end the trilogy properly.
The Curse of Monkey Island at #83, I've lost faith in PC Gamer.

Well, that's what they're planning, adding in a lot more RPG features, but making the combat better.
The only game that I really disagree with on this list is Supreme Commander 2
It took a brilliant formula, and instead of fixing flaws of the previous game, changed everything and became a mediocre strategy game. Forged Alliance beats it by miles, but at least PC Gamer recognized it and put it in the list as well.

Well they had the RPG right with ME1 and the action right with ME2 I just HOPE they do go through with their promises.

I respect your opinion

This month's issue? I may pick this up.
No Battlefield 1942? Oh well. I still play it. At least Battlefield 2 is on there. And MoH:AA
Which is why I think it's overrated. If you didn't play it it's glory days then it just doesn't feel like a fun game.
I played it in 2006 and I still consider it one of the best games I've ever played so
A welcome surprise to see good (and sometimes ignored) games like Dungeon Keeper and ArmA 2 on there.
Minecraft, Released: 2011
:mmmhmm:
Kind of an iffy list, but hey, can't please everyone, right? I'm relieved to see that Half-Life 2 didn't make first or anything... I like it as much as the next guy, but it just ultimately wasn't as special as people seem to think it is. ([sp]Also Half-Life 1 was better.[/sp])
And why the hell is GTAIV 100? Or anywhere on this list? Sure it was a fantastic game, but it was an awful PC game considering how disgustingly unoptimized it was.

I played it in 2009 and it fucking blew my mind. So not over rated.
Hl2>HL?
What?
Also, Deus Ex at number one is pretty questionable, as well. I loved Deus Ex, but god damn the actual gameplay was pretty awful. (Stealth was dead simple, shooting was just bad, etc.) The only reason it was so remarkable was the deftness with which it combined gameplay and story.

That is what really turns me off from that game. I really want to like deus-ex. But I can't get immersed at any way at all just because how bad the gameplay is.
Personally I would have switched places between Starcraft 1 and 2, or at least had Starcraft somewhere ahead of the sequel. Starcraft 2 just doesn't really have the ability to pull me back for 'one last game', even the custom matches. While it's still a great game I would put the original ahead of the sequel.

Deus Ex was a diamond from innovation and story's point of view, but in terms of gameplay... it was kinda meh.
what a terrible list
[editline]29th January 2011[/editline]
those "top xxx" are always so subjective i don't even see the point
Yeah the top ones are WAY too mainstream.
I'm going to complain to my Mac community friends about it.
