PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games! (WARNING: LARGE IMAGES AHOY!)

Company of Heroes: Online is on 11th place, what... No... What... Company of Heroes Online shouldn't be on the list. Vanilla Company of Heroes is alright but no where that good.
With this I mean why did they put Company of Heroes Online on the list instead of putting the ACTUAL CoH games on the list?
WoW at second place? Wow. Just Wow...
I love how high freespace 2 is on the list :h:
They put Supreme Commander 2 higher than Forged Alliance...
In the end, the endgame and competetative play is much more balanced out in SupCom2 than in FA.
FA the only worthwhile strat is to spam ints and strategic bombers for large games. SupCom2 offers a much larger variety of end-game choice in this aspect.
Early game FA was pretty simple too and didn't provide much of a competitive background (though argubly was more balanced from a pure numbers standpoint as the Cybran are still weaker than every other faction in SupCom2 until the endgame).
I've played about 80 hours of FA and about 80 hours of SupCom2 total, and I can honestly say that they are pretty much equal in their own ways. SupCom2 has much better strategic depth and variety between the factions thanks to a bevy of unique experimentals and abilities and the fact that usually games never devolve into one specific strat always being the best (unlike FA). It also makes experimentals useful, as in FA they were very niche due to normal unit spam (which was easy with it's runaway exponentual economy) always beating it. Which doesn't make sense when experimental units are the main game's selling point. SupCom2 really suffered when it first released but they've patched so many awesome things into it now (including some of the best AI in RTS history, and the infinite que system from FA) that it really is a great game and one of my favorite RTS's.
FA suffers from being too broken to work with it's larger maps (which is why any map larger than 20x20 pretty much is determined by who gets strat bombers first, as it's a waste of time to do anything else), and the gameplay isn't very balanced with itself in the sense that there's an assload of useless units, and useless strategies. But they really nailed the "feel" department and the sense of scale. Plus the variety in non-experimental units was pretty cool. SupCom2's sense of scale and unit feel is much more arcadey, and thus not as appealing to me (and a lot of fans). But the better more refined gameplay makes up for it.
What?? Grim Fandango at place 80?? It's always top 3 in PC Gamer Sweden
Maybe them Swedes are more fond of Mexico than America is fond of Mexicans?
WoW at second place? Wow. Just Wow...
Aside from being addicting and time wasting, it's fairly well made.
KOTOR should of been in the TOP 10 :colbert:
Can see why WoW is 2nd, you can ask anyone, even if they've never played a PC game and they could still tell you what it is. Shows how well known and how much it sells.
There should really be two lists:
One with the best games that are really best.
One with the top selling games that aren't really best but think they are.

How the hell do you judge a game then?

If a game is enjoyable, it's a good game in my book.
[editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
So it's impossible to make a list because you can't say what game you enjoyed the most out of 200 games, and neither does your opinion say which game is the best for anyone else than you.
I'm glad Arma 2 didn't get overlooked.
The fuck be my Baldur's Gate series at? Rip L4D off this list!
Hell yea STALKER!
Usually I just stay out of arguing what's wrong about these kinds of lists, but damn, I can't even begin comprehend why #3 is Oblivion.
[editline]31st January 2011[/editline]
Dunno why Shadow of Chernobyl isn't in there either, IMO ShoC should be in place of CoP. CoP wasn't that great on any level really. I enjoyed it, but looking back it didn't do anything new or especially interesting.
If you replay HL2 right now you'll see it's honestly nothing amazing
Everytime I replay it I'm amazed how good a game it actually is.
The environments are also some of the most beautiful I've ever seen a game even this long after it's release.
To be honest, after finishing Dead Space 2, it deserves a high spot as well. Mass Effect 2 should be higher than 42 though.
7 Valve Games to appear in the top 20?
Okay.
This list is shit.
Most of the choices make sense, although I'd change around the top 20.

Fanboys. You can't live with them, you can't just kill 'em.
What a stupid list.. WoW at second place?
This, despite all the clichés it's actually a good game, but it doesn't deserve second place.
No dawn of war? i'm not happy.

Not only that, but 17 spots under the original one?
I replay it alot and it's still better than most FPS's today tbh
QFT, fun gameplay and a good plot which isn't thrown into your face and rewards you for hanging around to spot snippets and understand what's going on.
Can't wait for E3

Also, seriously who cares about some nerd making Top lists?
Its mostly wrong anyway.
Deus Ex should've been in the top 30, not the very first game. It was a well done game, but I preferred BioShock and KOTOR a LOT more than the majority of the top 10.
Also, WoW is a shitty MMO as is. There are loads of RPGs and MMOs better than WoW...it only won 2nd place because of its massive popularity.
this list is bullshit

I've never played WoW but I'm pretty sure it IS the MOST successful mmorpg.
