From what I read on the wiki it looks as though the Goons can still run for Congress in PIMP. The Party President cannot block someone standing unless there are more candidates than there are potential seats.

The Party President can select the 2 official candidates for each region. This means we'll move people into all the regions to make sure goons can't get official positions. Even after that, goons can still get positions if they have enough votes and qualify for a wild card congress seat. But this is the best we can do.

Well, to anyone who does decide to run for congress: Be aware that it's not the biggest deal in the world, so don't spam newspaper articles or shouts trying to get people to vote for you, because it doesn't make as much of a difference as just being active. And if you do get into congress, don't act high and mighty because you're just one out of 40 people who are helping the country. Being in congress is fun, but I hate seeing people who think they're suddenly badasses because they got in.
Yea I agree but from what Ive seen, most of our members have good eEtiquite. I don't see the harm in just one shout but like n00blett said, don't go overboard. I think that's my biggest problem with modern German congressmen. They think because they got in with just 1 vote or 2 that they were unquestionable and all mighty hotshots. They'd kick people out of the IRC channel for no reason and would post awful and undiscussed proposals. I'm pretty sure you guys aren't like that but I just have to make sure.

I'm Peter D from eRepublik(DeLusionisT in the eSC forum).
Took the last hour and a half reading through this thread... O.o;; (well took about 10 minutes getting sidetracked into this thread to start off)
Hm... to introduce myself, I was one of the original post-beta liberationists back in Day 350 ish and continued to stick with my eSC citizenship through multiple regimes. I'm a RL Korean(I think I have slightly biased opinions, sorry) living in the US. (If anyone wants some Korean lessons for any reasons, just pm in eRepublik or the eSC forum.)
I signed up for facepunch to experience the community. So far, I see it's kinda like 4chan(massive internet presence) with good intentions. It's a compliment, don't worry.

Well to get to the meat of the game you have to step away from the game and acctually put effort into outside sources. Main two being the Official Forum and the IRC channel. The Game becomes so much more once you do this.

I'm working on this now. I got the Ambassador job to eRussia and they are keen to ally with us. Theyhave regular wars everyday and will make a powerful ally to protect eSK while we build the country up.
I just need to persuade Spade as President to agree to it and for Congress to vote it through. We have more than enough gold to sign it now after spyakns good work at the national bank.
Get in touch with members of congress and the president and ask them to support this and when I put up the topic in the eSK forum and in an article in game make sure to back me up with positive comments and we can get a good strong ally and regular battles to fight in and level up.
