I love the tears of everyone crying that mages get a perma elemental pet.
its not like it doesn't come at a big cost though, that second frost nova is helpful, plus if they don't fix the pet's mana issues, it wont be doing that much damage anyway.

The whole point of that pet is for the extra freeze.
Its like the Glyph of frostbolt- gives it more damage but removes the whole point of the spell.
It's for PVE where you just want the damage boost and the snare is worthless. Same reason behind glyphing thunderstorm and typhoon to not knock people back.
The Frozen Core buff seems cool.. 0.8sec frostbolts inc!
I think the new Glyph is quite a clever buff to Frost Mages.
With the Glyph, the pet is useless at PvP, but much better at PvE.
Will frost be viable for pve though?
Cause if not the buffs are going to be very pointless.

Well. The Frozen Core talent buff is awesome for PvP, and for PvE I believe.
The pet glyph "buff" sucks to PvP, absolutely NO ONE is going to get it. Not to mention the pet is even more fragile then Warlock succubus. Can be 2 shotted.
Now for PvE.. hmm.. The pet doesn't even deal good damage, and has nothing else but waterbolt.
If they want to make the pet glyph worth, they gotta re-design the pet imo.
theyll probably make it do similar to the imp's damage and give a talent which relates to spell power/mana regen, i dont imagine frost having v big crits
i think blizzard needs to give up with making the 3 specs all pve and pvp viable and just accept that each is good for different things. due to the mechnics of frost it will never be better for raiding than the other trees unless they completely and i mean completely revamp the tree. if they just made it give more damage output it would be op in pvp without survivability nerfs
