For every Little Big Planet there are a dozen COD clones.
There was dark humor in Bioshock? where?
No really, I don't know what you're talking about.
For every COD clone there are atleast two good shooters being released.

Sadly true.

So putting creepy dark images together with peppy music counts as dark humor nowadays?
Oh, another moment, at the beginning when the woman is talking to the gun in the crib. How she talks about missing when it was warm and how its now cold.

....It was the best video I could find, none had the actual specific spot but it happens in Cohen's den.
I could also say, oh wow.....50's music in Fallout, so dark humored.
Well whatever, I don't like Bioshock and I never will, I don't care if you like it, that's fine too. I just couldn't get into it.

That's what I was waiting for. I knew you weren't truly paying attention. You don't like it, but that doesn't mean it hasn't done anything new or its horrible. That's the point I was trying to get across.
I don't even know if people are reading my posts but Rahkshi is demonstrating what I was talking about before. You like a game or not. Graphics, story and setting matter different amounts to different people.
Classics are still great none the less. Like Goldeney 007, Timesplitters, and Call of Duty 4.
I wouldn't count Cod4 as a "classic" but I can't say it's bad.

yeah 4 years is a perfect amount of time to call a game a classic

It's a classic to me. Besides, enough CoD games have come out since then that it would seem like a classic. IMO, Call of Duty 4 was the golden age of CoD.

Not really saying much, as a new COD game comes out every year.

It is? Are you 14 now?
"Golden age of COD" was CoD 2. Man that game was just too good.

"No cows were harmed in the making of this game."
Continuous over-praising of classic games is the reason Nintendo can make the same Zelda game over and over and still get great reviews. It was great in the 90's, but it's not very good any more.
-snip due to hilariously embarrassing rage, Sorry about that-
I love how every time someone brings up some widely praised (Although somewhat obscure) old game like Deus Ex or Morrowind, some smug asshole will attempt to be ironic and edgy by calling the game an overrated piece of shit, then the asshole who mentioned it in the first place defends it with more irony and old jokes/assumptions (You prolly play Cock of Doody (LOL GEDDIT UR GAY IM FUNNI XD) all day, contard :smug:), then the two assholes continue the pointless smugness competition that doesn't change the opinion of either side, therefore being entirely pointless.

Seriously, look at the argument about Morrowind here, that is the exact same argument as almost every other argument I've seen here about Morrowind.
calm down

I love how that wasn't even close to what happened here.
"we're not willing to admit that they may be obsolete by today's standards"
wtf is that supposed to mean? if a game is good its good it doesnt become obsolete
THe old Zelda games are great....the new ones...not so much
Yes they are, the new ones are just as good as the old ones.
I finished Fallout 1 and 2 a few months ago, haven't never played them before. They're very very good.
There are certain things that hold their value over time, and video games are one of those.
Yes they are, the new ones are just as good as the old ones.
In all fairness, I could never really get into any of them. I tried really....really hard....I even set up my computer so I could play it with an emulator along with a PS3 controller so it was something I was used to. Still...hated them.
Nintendo should stop remaking their old games on new consoles and should try to focus on making new games.

HERETIC, DIE! BURN HEATHEN!
Ahem, sorry about that. What about them were hard to get into for you?

You have to understand, every time Nintendo has done that (Chibi Robo, Pikmin), they flop like a mother fucker. Besides, if "remaking their old games" brings about things like Wind Waker and Paper Mario, I don't care.
Also, even if there's an improvement in physical power, Planescape Torment still has a better narrative than any of Bioware's recent affairs.

.....the almost lack of instructions, Ocarina didn't have this problem, but the original and a Link to the Past suffered greatly from it. I wondered around more than I try solving puzzles.

In what way?
Speaking of Dues Ex in your post, I've really been trying to play the game but....the controls, they just feel to clunky. And while I love the way the maps are designed at the same time the ambiguity of the different paths just ruins it. I don't mind exploring, but if I get lost every 10 minutes because I don't know how I got in a different path then I'm not able to find my way out, there is something wrong. Also, the philosophical debates it supposedly brings up are annoying as hell. Most games with a story have a theme and it pisses me off that something that brings up the theme at the end of the game(which is a tell-tale sign of a crappy story by the way) instead of through out gets more discussion as if we haven't already debated enough about it. So yes, I'm saying the Dues Ex is over rated.
I agree, the openworld environment can get really annoying several times, but that's why people liked it. There were several ways to solve a mission, and you usually find shit that you don't find at first glance.
