Hm, I've played about 15 minutes mimicking and obeying to my other (and only one alive) teammate's orders because I don't know anything except to keep zombies at bay from us, then I crashed, it looks interesting, but I can see a lots of griefing easily feasible.
When the hit detection works and you hit a zombie (not fatally) the zombie doesn't react. The zombie really needs to react, like get knocked back, slowed down etc. Having zombies like dead island would be cool, they do react properly. I don't know if you can do them in source or not but surly you can improve what you currently have.
Dead Island walkers, not the Infected, they get 2 or 3 hits in as you're hitting them, currently how it is not it seems, not to mention the fucking annoying ass grapple.

How do you update? I cleared config.cfg, but dont know if that did anything.
I will never... ever play Broadway again...

Patch 1.01 Notes (Download coming later today)
oh its not out.
yeah sorry, thought today was the 3rd.
Maxx said the patch will be live tonight, and seeing that he lives in Canada, it'll be around 3-4 hours. If I am correct.
So does this mean I can play with high settings and actually read the menu?
So does this mean I can play with high settings and actually read the menu?
Yes and yes.
loli short shorts
interesting
Hallelujah
Depending on exactly what you mean by that, it's very likely what you are experiencing is actually part of the intended features. What we have in place basically, at least as far as what the source engine is fully capable of, is a "within hearing range" system. In short, like in real life when you are behind large barriers, or between a fairly large distance from the person who is talking, it becomes harder to hear them. It adds a bit of realism, and it increases the notable effect that straying off alone vs working as a team would produce... helps remind people to stay together :).
In the audio menu it works perfectly, in the first 30 seconds of a game it works too. But after that it turns to white noise and rapes everyone's audio. Its a shame because I can't communicate with people once we leave the spawn.
I know its not my microphone because it works perfectly with everything else.
Downloaded, can't wait to play.

Wonder why this always happens in that spot in particular
Grim, you should add a "press C to view your objectives" hint.

If you can't see it, it's two zombies stuck in the floor.

Yes.

Good idea! I'll add it.
And I think the zombie spawn system doesn't like slopes, because they seem to spawn right in it. Or maybe just a gap in the system/map.
I must be lucky, only one crash which I fixed by going to medium settings and one bug which was that yellow screen bug I explained earlier. Go me!
Darn, I can't decompile the zombie models. I want to replace them with Resident Evil zombies.
So I joined, lagged ONCE and then the ground acted like it was sticky. Then I crashed.
Sometimes I wish I could just punch right through my fucking monitor and instantly get a new better PC.
Time for FP's second opinion :eng101:

What's your steam info? PM it to me. I will help you with the sounds you need to have recorded.
One thing that I couldn't quite figure in the mod: does reloading discard all the bullets left in your current clip? It seems like it ought to (because if it didn't, what would the point of checking remaining ammo be), but from my short observation, it doesn't.

Nope, and thank god it doesn't.

Unless I am interpreting this incorrectly, the answer is that even after reloading your magazine, you still won't find a ton of ammo laying around... so either way you'll still be faced with the need to conserve ammo... I've ran out of ammo altogether quite a few times, so the best thing to do is to keep frequent tabs on how much you have remaining entirely.
I should probably tack on that you will likely face a situation here and there where you suddenly find yourself surrounded by zombies immediately after using most of the ammo in your magazine. Seconds really do count in this game, so I will usually check to make sure that I have my mag loaded completely as soon as I finish defending myself with the gun. Otherwise you'll end up finding yourself needing to reload in the middle of having a 7 year old schoolgirl gnawing your leg off and sharing it with John Goodman/Christian Bale in their zombie form.

Reload syndrome.
