You can't expect to have L4D2 gibbing in HL2 engine.
Both HL2 and L4D/2 run on the Source engine.
Both HL2 and L4D/2 run on the Source engine.
YES, I meant the version HL2 uses. Try to make a gibbing system like L4D2's and we'll see if you succeed
Man, this looks amazing. Will download
YES, I meant the version HL2 uses. Try to make a gibbing system like L4D2's and we'll see if you succeed
It's actually really easy. Remove polys in sphere, insert the wound model, and do sound and particle effects. I know it's possible to edit models on the fly but I have no idea how it's actually done via code. Edit: Here's the Valve publication: http://valvesoftware.com/publications/2010/gdc2010_vlachos_l4d2wounds.pdf
YES, I meant the version HL2 uses. Try to make a gibbing system like L4D2's and we'll see if you succeed
Obviously it's possible if you can code it if it wasn't possible then L4D wouldn't be using Source
Looks fun, it comes out the day when halloween starts or sometime this month?
I never said it was impossible. I mean it's a LOT of work. Not really easy to achieve.
I hope it comes with an FGD, I am going to make so many Shaun of the Dead bars and Day of the Dead bunkers, it will be ridiculous. The gameplay of it reminds me a lot of Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green.
This looks really good. Can't wait to try it. I've been looking for a good zombie fix; Left 4 Dead just isn't doing it for me anymore.
Oh my god yes yes YES
Oh my god!!
Holy shit I LOVE zombie games featuring John Goodman!
Holy shit, I thought was in development hell (no pun intended)
Holy shit this has been in development for like 7 years what the fuck, can't believe it's finally gonna be here.
The mod was restarted from scratch about 2-3 years ago, before that there was....'stuff' so this is what we have after a few years worth of time, it's nowhere near done and this is just a first release that the team is going to update with a bunch of content over the time like new gamemodes, maps, weapons, models etc. also those animetions are bad jesus christ i wonder who did them
I forgot this even existed, I can't wait :v:
amazing and opposing force 2 is going to release december finally the mods are being released
Holy shitting fuck, I remember frequenting the NMRiH forums a few years back. It kept my interest because it sounded exactly like my ideal MP survival horror, and despite the fact that it's taken the piss, it looks fucking awesome. It reminds me of a GoldSRC mod called Resident Evil: Cold Blood, in that it's objective based. I can't fucking wait. [editline]27th October 2011[/editline]
also those animetions are bad jesus christ i wonder who did them
If you ask me, the animations are really well done considering MP player animations aren't great in most commercial games until recently.
Finally, after all these years!
If you ask me, the animations are really well done considering MP player animations aren't great in most commercial games until recently.
He's the one who made animations, he's joking.
He's the one who made animations, he's joking.
keep in mind thats it just a beta release
now i get to fuck zombies in the ass
Shit, I've been following this mod since I could masturbate.
This is probably the first zombie mod for half-life 2 that has custom zombie animations. I am impressed by that alone.
This is probably the first zombie mod for half-life 2 that has custom zombie animations. I am impressed by that alone.
Pretty sure this was the first announced zombie mod for the Source engine.
Me likey. Too bad the release is after half-term.
Which animations are you talking about? Character animations are a bit abrupt, but acceptable, and weapon animations could be much better. And all the animations are kinda slow in general, this ruins the sense of weight for me. But, hey, i gotta play it first.
For all those thinking the animations are clunky, they really aren't. Yes, it takes time to get used to them, but after a while you see why. You aren't supposed to feel like a feather in the wind, normal people aren't able to run for 200 miles before they get tired. Guns actually are heavy and clunky, not some toy that weighs 1 pound. Melee weapons actually have feeling instead of some plastic model of an axe, etc...
I hope it comes with an FGD, I am going to make so many Shaun of the Dead bars and Day of the Dead bunkers, it will be ridiculous. I remember following this mod for the longest time. I was so psyched about it for the longest time. Then Left 4 Dead 1 was announced and that sort of stole all my attention away from the mod. Still, it's great to see something releasing after all this time. And hey, if No More Room In Hell can actually release, then there is hope for Black Mesa.
Looks like BrainBread, only on source and better. Although 1 thing bother me: The souble action revolver that has to be cocked every time.
Holy shit I'm actually really happy have been waiting years for this :D Hope they continue to improve it
