whoever rated me late, hahahah
I posted this 40 minutes after twitter.
anyways, I'm pumped (no pun) for the new shotgun and melee weapon, as well as rebalanced melee.
Wish this game would get some bloody steam support. It wouldnt nessarily make the game more stable or whatever, but it'd put it in the spotlight for more casual and lass astute steam users who aren't watching the mod scene.
It's not necessarily their job but Valve really should get off their asses and start hosting/advertising some of the newer HL2 mods on steam, even if they aren't 100% stable.. Steam intergration would allow for much more frequent patching and obviously it'd introduce a lot more people to the game.

If anything you could write them. Knowing Valve, they'd be the one developer to actually do it.
Ugh the human male voice in the mod sounds horrid. It makes everyone sound like bunch of nerdy teenagers.
New update makes it more likley that you'll get infected. Sat in the corridoor in cabin with 5 teammates infront of me shooting a huge hoard down. Someone falls and turns into a zombie killing another guy, then the zombies break through and within a minute I'm staring at all my teammates turn into zombies.
I only had a wrench so I joined them within seconds.
The new map, Flooded, is ridiculously unstable. Whenever someone shoots a flare, (which I presume calls a supply drop) the server crashes.

supply drops fall in at timed intervals, not flares
This game does a pretty good job at making the zombies frightening monsters that swarm you.
Especially in the cabin map, it can get really intense.
It also seems to be very difficult. In pub games the humans almost never win.

Once you know what you're doing, you're pretty much unstoppable, even if you're alone. But I do notice an overall difficulty increase, mostly in the number of zombies. Sometimes you should just run through a croud of zombies instead of slowly killing the endless horde with a crowbar. When people go all "OMGWTF so many zombies, holy shit OMG!" it's usually because they waited too long and now shit got even worse.
Remember to abuse the shove-function as much as you can, getting the zombies out of the way is much quicker than slowly bashing them down with a maglite
I get a Invalid steam ID error every time I try to join a sever, does anyone know how to fix it?
delete everything except your steam.exe and your steamapps folder and start steam again
Is Beta 1.03 an improvement enough for me to come back to this game? When it came out it was like when I first played through all the maps fun, but then got repetitive really fast.

It's more fluid, less buggy and survival is pretty fun. Worth another go considering the only thing it's wasting is a few hours of your time.
tried desperatly hard to like this but the combat is fucking god awful. laggy hitboxes, some hits dont register, , wonky grabbing by zombies and shove doesnt always work, not enough ammo and melee is a fucking joke. theres so much postential here and its unfortunatly utterly wasted, what a shame.
Survival mode is fun, but the motherfucking supply chopper needs to stop dropping packages just out of reach. Was playing earlier today, and twice the chopper dropped the package behind some type of invisible wall... Also some weapons seem to be unobtainable and are permanently stuck in the ground. Other than that its great fun and pretty difficult with a small group of players.
The intervals the chopper seems to drop supplies at seem very random (and thus bullshit) and most of the time there's a single faggot who hordes all the weapons.

kill him
Oh yeah, since when does the army help you by dropping lead pipes and shovels instead of guns and ammo?

Oh, they don't expect you to survive, the choppers are garbage disposal units.

Bringing the hurt
Fun game but the utter fucking lag and some hits not registering gets annoying.

Infection is dumb and terribly implemented though, as it is it's just "oh I'm now waiting for a delayed death". The end result is the same, you still die, it's just dragged out and annoying.
What they need to do is make infected become player controlled zombies. This not only makes infection actually interesting, but will also stop people from telling the rest of the survivors that they are infected.
That's basically how Zombie Panic does it.

Please god no player controlled zombies. Running round jumping everywere 'IM A FRIENDLY ZOMBIE K'. This is what seperates it from Zombie Panic.

Not just that, but then it totally ruins the coop feel, as your teammate soon turns into your enemy.
Does anyone actually still play this? Surprisingly, I only find out about it yesterday and I'm having a damn good time playing it, solo or with friends.
1.05 looks really good as well.

I suggest you crack out the ol' chainsaw and get back to zombie killing.

Why not have infection at something like 50/50? Or anything else than 100% chance of death, really. You would still get all the symptoms, but you would have a reason to continue playing.
