This mod is fantastic, it calls for dismemberment for sure.
I don't like how player corpses disappear if somebody teamkilled them.
I can bare with a kind of poor hit detection, but those asshats who take every single firearm and flashlight before rushing to the gun shop in chinatown and dying there are pissing me off. We are suposed to survive, not kill as many zombies as possible!
Spent a couple hours playing it with a friend, in the end we both agreed that it had the potential - though not without some pretty glaring issues that killed a lot of the fun we might have had. Constant crashes aside - good faith that those will all be fixed eventually, thing that really bothered me were the constant respawns of zombies - makes ammo management and exploration entirely pointless if turning your back to a hallfway repopulates it with as many zombies as the ammo you just earned by straying off the path. Rushing past everything has it's place - but it can't be the only rational choice at all times, makes it rather dull. It makes sense to me that the open streets and immediately adjacent open defendable areas would have the zombies streaming in without end - but not so much a bathroom cleared and marked as a safespot not 15 seconds ago. The hit detection is pretty problematic too, as it is now it's a complete gamble if a measured headshot will hit anything at all - and it only compounds the above problem of infinite respawns with finite ammo.
My god, do flashlights lag the entire server to shit for anyone else?

30 more mins and the linux server files will be done downloading, I will post mirror when it's done.
This reminds me a lot of Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green.
Pretty awesome HL2 mod that has been in the works for fucking ever. Really happy that this game out this halloween all of a sudden after about 6 years, so I decided to make a video going over the entire game, although not really completing any levels because that would take HOURS, because this game is hard as fucking nails, and given there was only two of us, we were limited in how far we could get in a level. Anyway, to the videos! There will be three parts uploaded, I will update them as they all come up on YouTube, any feedback either on this thread, or in YouTube comments, dislikes and likes to gauge whether people like the videos, etc, are ALL appreciated.
This reminds me a lot of Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green.
In a good way? The multiplayer support and community from that was fantastic. I had great fun on it.
The zombification is sooo coool.
The child zombie models are just terrible I was lagging on my own LAN server it made my shitty X1950 heat up to 95 celsius and I was getting artifacts after about 20 minutes
One thing that really ruins the experience is the fact that you and your 7 other team mates waste all your bullets and two of you end up dying, 3 seconds later the zombies decide to respawn and you're like " fuck " One other thing is when you run out of energy you just instantly can't walk you stand completely still and get raped by zombies. I do have to say the maps and the mod look sexy as fuck, the sounds are amazing and the melee weapons are pretty cool, but other than the two issues I've seen so far in terms of gameplay are the only things that bother me. But, oh well who cares , for a beta it's wonderful.
Also I got mobbed by about 20 zombies and survived without being hit once, i was stuck in a corner but I just jumped over this railing and nashed edit: they were in hitting range for about 15 seconds

[editline]1st November 2011[/editline] I was looking in the files and this guy is going to be a playermodel eventually. You guys should totally make Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) from Jurassic Park a playable character.
Throwing up a link for those of you who don't already have it / are downloading it slowly. d129vg7rq2s9ep.cloudfront.net/nmrih/b1/NMRiH_Beta1_Client.zip And a .torrent version for those of us awesome people who love bittorrent. (If you add trackers tell me so I can update the file) d129vg7rq2s9ep.cloudfront.net/nmrih/b1/nmrih_b1_NMRiH_Beta1_Client.zip.torrent (I have unlimited bandwidth, I could care less if the devs add this as a mirror)
Here's the linux server files http://wegea.com/archive/nmrih/NMRiH_Beta1_LinuxDS.zip
Do you guys have a server up now? I'm itching to play with competant team mates
why the Mod size is only 1 gb? isnt it a bit too small for such a mod?
Isn't that a good thing?
That's the zip file. It's more about 2.6 gigs.
I was crashing a lot when my settings were on high, lowering them fixes it.
I wish all the characters weren't so shiny.
I got stuck on a potted plant in Cabin.

New torrent link here, download both old one and new one, then choose to add trackers. You're entering a world of pain, smokey
I'm hoping for a Simon Pegg character :v: Also, it's a shame that you just... die when you're infected. I hoped you'd be able to shamble around as a zombie for a while, ZPS style
As soon as I go outside my ping will go above 200. This happening to anyone else?
