The mod thankfully includes the option to disable all the god awful character models.
Welcome to literally 20 posts ago.
EDIT: Besides the odd foliage placeage, the mod is actually pretty good looking if you get the "light edition" without the shitty almost-nude Alyx and combover Breen or any of the other reject character models.
Yeah but the lite version is for an older version of the mod, some better things have been added since then in the maps.
Pretty much all the females in the mod look quite alike due to everyone of them being recreated in intricate detail after Fakefactorys favorite pornstar if the stories are true.
Yup
Adriana Lima (the model he modeled Alyx after) and Grace Park (you may know her from the Remastered BSG)
Someone did a mouse over comparison of some areas

I think he took the L4D2 fire textures
The only thing I really like about this mod are things like dynamic shadows, better particles, etc.
Its a shame that you can't just play the original HL2 maps with those improvements without having to sacrifice the original games tone to be "Cinematic" (boring and generic).

Maybe Fakefactory is jewish or something.

EDIT: I took these screenshots.
Looking back on these screenshots, I just realized there's no way for those buildings to be laid out like that and still have an ordinary street layout.
Either City 17 became some sort of modern shantytown or FF just didn't care about sensible layout and just cluttered things up.

The latter. He, for some reason, kept Valve's skybox size, but crammed more into it.

To everyone saying you can't use the default models in CM11, you're completely and horribly wrong. Just go to the install directory in /steam/sourcemods/CM11 and run Konfigurator.exe, then go down to the Character Pimper and change shitty models back to normal at your heart's content.

Its also in the start menu.

If someone had the patience and was nice enough they could create a "lite" version of his mod with just the Maps and textures.
I'm nice, I just don't have patience to wade through the models and textures and see what it doesn't need. Plus I don't have the mod downloaded. (and my net is shit at uploading)
And also downsize the textures because I'm pretty sure they could be half the size they are now and still look good.

I can't seem to notice much difference between Source 2007-styled fire or L4D-style, except it's a little bigger and brighter. By the way, the "new" crowbar animations made me think: "Black Mesa: Source, in Cinematic Mod? I guess not even he can wait for BMS!"
i just noticed how the rpg texture there is the default texture, keep up the good work fakefactory
Really? I don't see that the texture is re-used, he must have put in self-illumination without checking the alpha channel when he modified the texture. This isn't very noticable due to the selfillum though, but it has Environment maps too. I know how to take the glow away though, go to the "sourcemods\FAKEFACTORY_CM11\hl2game\materials\models\weapons\v_rocket_launcher" directory and open the rocket launcher sheet.vmt with either Notepad or VTFEdit (I recommend VTFEdit because it can detect errors which can be fixed when the VMT is opened with Notepad, I told jason278 how to fix that with the Spiderman model he hexed) and either remove the string completely, place two leftslashes to the left of it or put a zero over the one (basically disables it). And those worldmodels for the RPG and .357 Magnum are still shit and I mods to replace them w_models (I know they're not that noticable, but it's better than looking at a model ported directly and shrunken from HL1 in an HL2 world! Personally, Romka's Rocket Launcher worldmodel is 20% cooler, no offence Fakefactory.)
What the f-, he didn't fix the black areas on the HEV Suit either! Valve should have made the parts you'd see in the viewmodel on the HEV Suit worldmodel orange in the first place.

That's pretty easy, remove model files that already exist like "Humans/Group0#/Male_01 to 09" and any model files that doesn't have "FF" in them or are "props_street", "ff_buildings" or "FF_Models"
NOTE: One needs to know which entities or NPCs would use such models too, or else trouble might come up
He added a small room off of Eli's lab it seems, which also has a shotgun, kinda ruins the moment when you finally get one from Father Gregori

Also is it possible to install the thing even if you don't have a 64 bit system?

Sure it is, but I think he actually recommends having a 64 bit system.

There's something about this that kind of gives off an "amateur" vibe.
Maybe it's the main part of the bed being made from brushes or the poster of Dog jutting out of the wall when it could have looked better as a decal/overlay.

To be honest, I think his is actually a good improvement for that scene, although I think that's just because he made the lighting more dramatic.
I do like that he had the forethought to make it so that Alyx doesn't just come in out of a room that leads to nowhere anymore, but I don't really like what he ended up making it into. Oh well, just a small thing.
Also, there was no shotgun in there for me when I was exploring around.
good thing that bleach is on the shelf right next to the bed for an early morning pick-me-up
I do like that he had the forethought to make it so that Alyx doesn't just come in out of a room that leads to nowhere anymore
according to the Dialogue she was out on watch, so it still doesn't make sense.
"Todo: Valve-style HD-Alyx. I'll wait for the enhanced EP3 model to work with."
Welp, I guess we're stuck with Adriana Lima.
Oh wait he's also going to attempt doing a Jamil Mullen(IRL Alyx) style model because he ain't satisfied with the current one.
If you think about it, all that rubble lying about is pretty realistic. The world was invaded, buildings got blown to shit. It's sensible that there are fragments of building scattered all over the place, since the Combine obviously don't care enough to clean up.
Although I agree that since they used the same prop over and over it looks repetitive and stupid. They could've at least taken some initiative and and placed an assortment of different rubble props here and there...
While I'm perfectly fine with rubble and such being in cities, I find it to be incredibly weird when they're in canals that have hardly ANY buildings in them.
Also, those character models look way too much like they came from a porno for me to take the characters seriously. I mean, why the fuck does Alyx look more and more like some weird Brazilian/Asian pornstar?
While I'm perfectly fine with rubble and such being in cities, I find it to be incredibly weird when they're in canals that have hardly ANY buildings in them.
Yeah, if it was various trash and dirt piles then maybe it would make sense, but now it's just weird and goofy.
Also, why was the shotgun given to you in Eli's lab? One of the things I liked about the Ravenholm chapters is that Father Grigori gives you a shotgun in the middle of a localized zombie outbreak, which I thought was rather appropriate for it, given that shotguns are potrayed as godly anti-zombie weapons.
because he is dumb

That floor looks incredibly slippery, no wonder kleiner fucked up with the previous teleports.
Does Kliener wax the floor daily?
No. Lamarr just isn't paper trained.
That's not water or even wax, it's the particle remains of a certain cat Barney and Kleiner have taken a vow of silence over, splattered across the floor in pure liquid form. They just haven't cleaned it up yet.
What cat, indeed, Alyx. What cat indeed.
