That's like saying "Fuck Walmart, Best Buy is sooooo much better"
There are a couple of store rivarlies and whatnot, actually.
A lot of people I know (including myself) hate Walmart.
/////Valve Fanboys End here\\\\\\
While the market is expanding, all Xfire needs to do is offer something that the others don't, and it can jump to become as large as steam. I'll switch only when I know it's better
Uhh, last time I used Xfire, I ran into steam on it, and I was like, "this shit's 10 times better because it's autopatching actually works :O". If they fix that they have a chance.
Damn it, this will make the PC Gaming market sort of like the whole Mac vs. PC shit.
That is, if the XFire store becomes popular enough (which would be basically around 10% or more of the entire market)
Hmm, wow, I'd like to see how you concluded that. Specifically the 10%.
[editline]04:53AM[/editline]
Basically, tell me how you aren't pulling shit out of your ass.
I like how it's competition, but not good enough to even make me consider switching. Win/Win situation.
They also offer Modern Warfare 2 on the PC...I hope they figure out that they really shouldn't do that.
have you ever even played it
There are a couple of store rivarlies and whatnot, actually.

Yeah lets hate a store that's logical. Dumbass
you do realise you can use steam and xfire store at the same time? just like the same reason you can buy things from more than one shop irl.
You are all retarded children.
Yeah lets hate a store that's logical. Dumbass
I actually prefer Target to Walmart, from experiences I've had.

Well, of course, but sometimes people have their preferences.
It's like owning both a Mac and a PC.

stop comparing an online store to an os it doesn't work and you look stupid
I'll care when prices start going down because of competition.
have you ever even played it
Maybe I worded my post wrong because I meant to say that shouldn't do that because Steam doesn't take in keys from any other place than steam and the retail version. http://kotaku.com/5409642/valve-bans-gray+market-modern-warfare-2-keys I thought everyone knew that and yes I have played and yes it is actually decent so I'm not hating...
If I can pay in dollars over euros I'm happy with it.
this argument is retarded
there are like 20 other online stores already, this is just going to be one in a bunch of choices. this isn't going to get popular in a short timespan. this has been done before. why are you all excited
and comparing it to mac vs pc is even more retarded. this is like saying "gamecrazy vs gamespot is like mac vs pc"

Yo G don' be hatin', gaddit?
I would prefer this to steam, because steam is laggy.
Who fucking cares, XFire sucks and noone even uses their shitty store.

Peter Noone?
I bought Dragon Age through Impulse because they aren't faggots with $=€ prices.
If it keeps Valve on their toes about prices, I say there's no problem with this.
I like both. Will use both. Steam is still primary to me though.
Well, of course, but sometimes people have their preferences.

No, it's nothing like that.
Steam, XFire, retail outlets, D2D, Impulse.. They're all outlets to get the exact same thing. Whether you buy from Steam, D2D or XFire, the games will largely be the same. It's a means to the same end.
Who would argue over Steam and XFire or vice-versa? It's not like Mac vs. PC, it's like PC vs. PC - they're almost exactly the same, and the end product - the game you download - pretty much is.
About the only grounds for argument would be comparing prices, DRM restrictions or perhaps download speeds - which I think - although hard to believe - is even more pointless than Mac vs. PC arguments.
Xfire is a cool idea, but the overlay is a shitload of steaming bullshit... Steam though is simple and not overloaded with unneeded crap.
I am a steam diehard fan.
I even bought L4D2 and will buy L4D3 in a few months when the survivors will finally use their fists and throw their hats at zombies when they are close.
Maybe they can figure out that 1 euro is not 1 usd
If they extend to europe, that is.
They do it that way to be fair to all the other stores selling games (the non digital ones). They would go out of business when steam was selling the games cheaper.
xfire exception errors are fun when the game shouldnt be crashing at all and doesnt when you dont use xfire what shit software
I would uninstall it in a heartbeat if another software like it comes out, or if Steam gets an automatically detect games function.
Yeah lets hate a store that's logical. Dumbass
I think walmart has plenty of reasons to be hated, considering their business strategies.
Xfire + Steam = Bunch of Clanfags against casual gamers on a Gmod build server.... :sigh:
