They are selling MW2 for less than steam.
If I could buy from them, I would.
Steam = £39.99
Xfire = $39.95
The fuck steam.

Steam charges whatever the fuck they want because they're leading the digital distribution market.
More competition will bring their prices down.
nvm for some reasons it's still 60 euros for mw2 if you switch to europe.
:iia: [sp]Not[/sp]
Steam > Impulse > My Ass Crack > Your Ass Crack > Xfire
I would prefer this to steam, because steam is laggy.
Agreed. I can not run any newer games that are not steam coordinated without my fps dropping. When I use xfire, it stays the same.
I like both. Will use both. Steam is still primary to me though.
Same thing for me.
Seems like Xfire is trying to steal the way Steam sells games... I wonder how much profit they're going to make out of this.
If it uses the same downloading procedure that the promised "game auto-patcher" uses, screw this. I don't remember it downloading anything, and when it did, it said, "Finished downloading game update-20123xsxsomerandomshitnumbers
http://us.xfirestore.com/
Seems as if they're trying to even steal the Top Preview Banner as well. This is funny.
What do you think?
They are approaching 15 million registered users. They do offer a great service in all honesty. I love Xfire myself.
Also, there are some games on their store that aren't on steam and vice versa.
I don't see why you have such a massive problem with it OP.
you do realise you can use steam and xfire store at the same time? just like the same reason you can buy things from more than one shop irl.
You are all retarded children.
Why not just go the easy route and buy them on steam, it is so much more simple.
Oh hey, they have Fallout 1 and 2!
Xfire is owned by MTV and therefore Viacom. Don't buy shit from them.

Only if steam has that game.
I find myself using both Xfire and Steam to talk to friends that may not have steam or xfire, though I do admit that I buy my game on steam just because I find it more convenient to have it all on one account and just click on the game I want to play, and steam's interface is better I find.

I do the same, sadly I'm a programmer in a big network of gamers that all use Xfire, so I'm forced to use it just to talk, i'd never use any of their other features though.
Steam > Impulse > My Ass Crack > Your Ass Crack > Xfire
I think you'll find my ass crack is superior to yours :smug:
I can see why XFire would try and do this, they have become a widely used platform by many people from varying countries, of varying ages, who refuse to buy their games from shops, and tend to use online stores. Most of which are using D2D for some games, which is a bad decision anyway. But Steam is near monopolizing the digital distribution market, Valve have such a huge portion of people in this market using their platform it's making it hard for anything to thrive.
Though I will most likely never use it as the XFire client is a horrible piece of software, and the community is full of "Omg noscope 1337 JOIN MEH Cl4NZZz!!1!£" idiots. The software is crashy, the overlay sucks performance like a bitch at times, the patching system is heavily flawed, the server system is just as bad. Almost nothing on the client appeals to me, the video recorder has improved a lot, but it still spits out videos a bit odd if it's not set up perfectly. And why the fuck would you need to have streaming done by XFire, to the XFire site only? Limits your audience a ton.
