Just got back. To anyone going tomorrow, play Aliens Colonial Marines, they give out free T-shirts.
[QUOTE=hogofwar;37821646]You wouldn't happen to be they guy that was waiting at dash (or whatever the place was called) and boasted about hugging 10 random girls?
[editline]27th September 2012[/editline]
Okay, been, been back. It was awesome, just managed to get into the Dean Hall talk, which was good.
Managed to miss every single freebie there (except for a postcard).
On another note I have a 3 person, early entry ticket for tomorrow(friday), Anyone willing to buy it from me quickly for £20 or so?
If not then this ticket will go to waste.[/QUOTE]
Not me! I was at the Warface raffle/tournament though, any of you guys attended that?

Went last year. [i]Everything[/i] gives out free t-shirts.
I'll be there tomorrow, say hi if you see me.

Sorry for the laziness of the image, won't have a better chance to take a pic later.
I look forward to bumping into any of you.
[QUOTE=Smashman;37822799]Went last year. [i]Everything[/i] gives out free t-shirts.[/QUOTE]
No one was giving them out this year. I was disappointed but hey I cant complain, its free stuff.
[QUOTE=Smashman;37822799]Went last year. [I]Everything[/I] gives out free t-shirts.[/QUOTE]
This year was all about posters, which is the worst thing possible to give someone who has a 4-5 hour journey both ways so they come out ruined at the other end.
It wasn't as good as last year in my opinion, but still alright. So many eh games and no one is giving anything out really.
Also when I played BLOPS 2 I got put on the VIP table where you have a guy commentating and one of the 4 teams is made up of 3 "pro" players (it's 3v3v3v3).
I haven't played a console CoD since MW1.
It was the very definition of getting wrecked.
ALSO my friend loves the youtubers syndicate and KSI (Xbox 360 commentaries etc), who were present there and he asked to have a photo taken and obviously I was the camera man. I had no idea who these people were but they were being swamped and Syndicate asked me if I wanted my photo taken with him as well and I just smiled, shook my head and said "No, I have no idea who you are" and walked off. Now I've watched his videos at home I'm glad I didn't have a photo done.
Here's a list of things you should do:
-Play Need For Speed Most Wanted or BLOPS 2, there's something great about doing multiplayer where when you look up you see the fear in your opponents eyes
-If you're interested in the Wii U go about 1-2 o'clock, has the shortest queue then unless you have an early pass
-if you want t-shirts, the places to go were X-Com, PES 13 where you need to win one match, Needs for Speed Most Wanted where you have to be most wanted 3 times in a row and you get it, BLOPS 2 if you come top in your group of 12 and probably a few others. It isn't especially noticeable so you may have to keep an eye out.
-I didn't find any places which gave out a beta key or anything similar, I got a mask for my Xbox live avatar from dishonoured which would be neat if I still had an Xbox but maybe you want that so idk.
-Tomorrow (As in Friday) the aforementioned Syndicate and KSI will be giving out free Razer hardware. Even if you don't want it scout them the fuck out because they will be giving out lots.
-Hang around for the Tekken tournaments, so much cheering.
The only posters I saw given out were for Medal of Honor.
There was a free t shirt giveaway at some point in a t shirt stall.
I think the best games I saw there were at Rezzed (Especially Natural selection 2, though it isn't exactly "unreleased"), good things at the indiearcade too though.
The game DREAM (Has been accepted on greenlight) looked REALLY good, I managed to crash it though which apparently was a first.
Shame I couldn't get into the 18+ section, Dishonored was calling for me.
[B]ALSO[/B]
Seeing as I can't sell my friday ticket I will give it away to the person who promises to go to chet's talk and ask why there was no RED and BLU in Mann Vs Machine.
Plus, the tickets are early entry, so...
yeah. Please.
I know this has been over but how hard is it to get into the 18+ area? I don't exactly look 18 so that's not going for me already.

They got some big mean black dudes guarding it so you won't get in. I had a giggle with one as I pretended to be under 18.

I got a cool Metal Gear 25th Anniversary one as well as the MOH one.
Holy shit I went to Eurogamer last year with friends. Thought it was pretty terrible to be honest. Only good thing was getting a free T-shirt and and CSGO beta key from Chet Faliszek himself and not even acknowledging that he was Chet Faliszek. Also playing CSGO on console, running through de_dust backwards while quick switching and then stabbing people in the back with the knife for all grouping up together.
Got a free OnLive console too. Talked with some guy about how it was going to be "the future of gaming". Look how that turned out.

Pretty sure you need ID.
I won an iPad 3 from the Warface booth yesterday. And a hat signed by the dev team :o
[thumb]https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/528687_10151161970012207_718024520_n.jpg[/thumb]
Moment of victory in which the guy behind me looks like he wants to cut me.

They asked me to get a photo with the signed hat and iPad (and promo girls). So I decided to get into the moment and show them my (slightly happy) warface.
[thumb]https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/545685_10151161971692207_1294876820_n.jpg[/thumb]
I was nervous as hell the moment the match finished and the guy on the mic was like "Well done Player 15!". I've never won anything like this before so I wasn't sure how to react. The guy came up to me with the mic and said "Have you got anything to say?" and I was stupid enough to reply with "I won...and I dunno how."
So overall, £12 well spent on a ticket.
Finished today and It was pretty fun. Dispite being split up quite a bit. Managed to play Halo 4... It's. Halo except better, though I'm shit on a controller. Managed to get into the 18 area but they still check inside so was asked to leave rofl.
Whoever's going tomorrow/Sunday can you get the link that's under Hotline Miami? I fucking love that game.
You should go see it.
like
and play it, it's [I]radical[/I]
Oh cool, I think the Abe's Oddysee remake will be shown on here aswell on Sunday or Saturday. I hope there will be streams
I've finally recovered from my visit yesterday, would anybody object to a bit of a megapost?
Well, I got on the coach at my college at 6am and we journeyed to the mighty land of London, everybody was a bit tired but watching the sunrise was fairly nice.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19ESE[/img_thumb]
After many hours of coach singalongs and people trying to sneak in a few extra hours of sleep we all made it to the convention hall.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19ETS[/img_thumb]
While I was waiting for the tutor to get us our wristbands I got a picture taken with the Carmageddon range rover. This picture is the first of many starring me looking awkward in public. :v:
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19EVh[/img_thumb]
The first thing I did upon entering was head to the Rezzed section to check out Dream, one of the first games to be Greenlit on Steam.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19EWp[/img]
After a small wait and a chat with some of the devs I sat down to play, and unlike most people I didn't just stay for 10 seconds before leaving because of the lack of action.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19EXG[/img_thumb]
The game was incredibly atmospheric and the music was great. Some people assume it's just Dear Esther with a different graphic style but it actually has gameplay, unlike DE. I completed 4 maze puzzles while being chased by a shadow born out of the anxiety of the player, triggered what the devs consider the end of Act 1, gathered some hidden items and really took in the environment. One of the devs even showed me a bit of an easter egg. (You can type microsoft as a username on a PC with no password and it will bluescreen)
The devs also let me know that so far development has only been going on for 3 months so what they've done so far is incredibly impressive, they were also incredibly pleased that I sat down and completed everything they had set out. They agreed to let me get a picture with them.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19F2y[/img_thumb]
After leaving the Dream section I headed to The Cave with my friend. We played co-op so he couldn't act as cameraman. Got a pic of the display though.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19F7z[/img_thumb]
The game was fairly fun, not really my kind of game but I certainly enjoyed it. Playing it nabbed me a mini figure of one of the characters from the game.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FcO[/img_thumb]
After recieving our figures we decided to go back to the indie section, early day lines were still massive and the indies were fairly unpopulated. After a moment of contemplation I played some Natural Selection 2.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FdU[/img_thumb]
After several years of following the game I finally got a chance to play it so I decided to have a good long session. Played as a marine (my screen was hooked up to the big screen so good god I felt awkward) and tried out a good few weapons. Bunch of kills, couple of deaths and I managed to end the long-lasting match with a flamethrower to the main hive. Awesome game.
At this point I seperated from my friend because he wanted to go to the 18 section. I met up with a different friend and decided to give Rocksmith a try. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of this but oh well.
Rocksmith really surprised me, it clearly had a fuckton of content and was really pretty damn fun. I had barely even touched a guitar in the past so having a bit of a play pleased me. I'll definitely pick up the PC version once I can scavenge one of the required cables and the cash for the game itself. (My brother has plenty of guitars so I won't need to pick one up.)
After Rocksmith we decided to jump into the WiiU line, or at least we thought it was the WiiU line, we had no idea there were multiple lines but we were content with being in the ZombiU queue.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19Fij[/img_thumb]
After over an hour and a half we got in and gave it a go. Because of how big the line was we didn't get to play long before getting shoved off. The controller was reasonably responsive and very comfortable, the game itself was awesome. I'm thinking I may nab the console after a price drop and the game library beefs up a bit, it was fun but I'm content with my PC for now.
After ZombiU we had a chance to try any of the other WiiU games but we decided to take a chance and attempt getting into the 18 section despite us both being 17.
And it worked.
So after infiltrating the 18 section I decided to go after all of the games I was most excited for, the first one being Hitman: Absolution. I was thrilled to find that it was just as good as the previous games, everything played really well and I had a lot of fun. For playing I was rewarded with a little Agent 47 figure.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19Fnb[/img_thumb]
After that I jumped on Dishonored, amazed that so far I hadn't seen any large queues for these games. The game played really well, just as I expected. Really fucking fun and I'm eager to nab a Steam copy when I get the cash together.
I then went over to play Metal Gear Rising Revengeance since I heard that you got a fucking amazing holo poster for beating their demo in under 15 minutes.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FoV[/img_thumb]
After quite a bit of a wait me and my friend jumped onto the game with the speedrun mindset. Despite not really being interested in the game itself I found it pretty fucking fun, it sure made me feel like a badass pulling off 50+ combos and slicing people in half. Completed in under 15 minutes only to learn that they ran out of posters and had to give out pens instead, so I ended up with a pen. :v:
Before leaving the 18 section (since we were almost out of time) me and my friend took a bunch of photos.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19Fr3[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19Fri[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FrN[/img_thumb]
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19Fs8[/img_thumb]
Before abandoning we spent a few minutes playing Dance Central 3, how he dragged me onto that I'll never know. Was kinda fun though. :v:
With about 2 minutes left we charged to the store, I saw this guy and couldn't resist wasting my money.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FuF[/img_thumb]
With an acceptable amount of swag, some photos and a lot of fun memories I departed from the con, ready for a 4+ hour coach journey home. Goodbye Eurogamer.
[img_thumb]http://puu.sh/19FtA[/img_thumb]
It seems Like I was the only person at the convention not to get any freebies, I managed to avoid every single one.
Also that dream game was pretty good, I didn't get to play much because I crashed the game after going on the computer for the first time, which one of the dev's said was a first.
I went to EuroGamer yesterday with a group of people from my college, all I can say is...those fucking zombies that are walking around!
Talk about playing the part :tinfoil:

What was even more impressive was the 8ft Spartan walking around.

I'll upload them soon.

Agreed, my friend Mattem here who hates what Halo 4 has become (but his opinion doesnt matter because its Halo) even got a few pictures with him. Talk about intimidating, I honestly expected to see a ton of horrible cos-players but most were pretty good. Although at one point I say an Altair dancing with a half naked guy on Just Dance 4 D:
I think the Halo 4 Chief was done by a professional company for 343, but like you said, that guy was really intimidating.
Though it might have had something to do with the body guards around him.
Image time!
Since my camera was being kind of a cunt (when it wanted to be), a few of the pictures I took are blurred, including the one I took of the colonial marine (he was fucking cool). Sorry about that.
Here are the cool dudes me and Drarrk met.
Caution: HUGE.

[url=http://i.imgur.com/8WtOC.jpg]Me and Syndicate (Some cool youtuber guy. He was a cool guy (and my dads girlfriend's son loves his videos), so I took a photo with him.)[/url]
And lastly, [url=http://i.imgur.com/rebnI.jpg]me and Drarrk on the way home![/url]
I didn't see any tf2 cosplayers on the thursday, I did see a half naked fat guy with a clown mask and a kukri-ish sword with holes in it though.
I am actually really surprised there weren't that many tf2 cosplayers.
There was an engineer going around.
