I think Valve will do something like a Portal 2 trailer in the style of portal 1, then have it break down halfway through, and switch to Episode 3 or something similar. They won't just go "So yeah, here's a trailer for episode 3" , they'll do it as a surprise and blow everyone's bollocks off with an awesome display of legendary gaming awesomeness.

The game had better be pretty fucking good, or they've come to their senses and foregone the 2009 release date in order to bring it back to New York, a la Half-life 2's original 2003 style being switches and delaying the game.

But maybe that's what they want you to think. So then they'll end up showing a really shitty trailer that looks like it was made by a monkey, glue, and scissors, but then release a really awesome game.

That's just bad marketing.
Then again, if the surprisingly fun mechanics of Max Payne 2 are anything to go by, Max Payne 3 could work rather well. Then again, I don't think there'll be much variety in levels, and why the fuck would Max even be in Rio in the first place? He's a New York cop...
I still laugh at the fact that he has a painkiller addiction. That's the only thing I like so far about Max Payne 3.

Hmm Splatterhouse reminds me of Batman Arkham Asylum. If it's anything like AA, then it would be really amazing.
Also, on GT5, I played the demo for it a while back, the cars were very horrible feeling. It didn't feel like a simulator at all, the cars seemed very floaty and light.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nintendo has all but forgotten the hardcore fanbase, and I'll hate them until they release the new Zelda, then I'll go right back to hating them.
Their Goddamn third-party games and casual market are good for money, but it's no different than when Guns and Roses got fucked up by Axl and released a shit album (C. Democracy)Yeah, I understand it's smart to cater to the casuals, but it still feels like selling out.
Still, aside from Nintendo being nothing but a dissappointment, I'd like to hear a bit more about microsoft's Project: NATAL.
We still know very little about the kind of stuff it can do, aside from the basic (use your forearm as a sword and fist as a shield)
As well as several games that aren't third-party. that'd be great.
And on Sony's side,
I'll say that I was a fanboy until the PS3 came out, which just dissappointed me.
Until like, a year and a half after it came out, it had next-to-no exclusives, a shitty online network (Which was just recently fixed) and was just all around a departure from what made the PS1 and PS2 awesome.
I suppose a few more good exclusives, and maybe something like infamous 2 or something. I don't keep up with Sony as much as I used to. I liked a couple of games, but last E3, their confrence was sort of uninteresting to me. (not as bad as Nintendo's, but still)
Their big thing last year was teh new Final Fantasy, as soon as it came out, nobody liked the game they had waited years for. Go figure.
