That's the same the exact same thing you can say for a Tank allistar. all you are doing is saying stuff that applies to both.
How are they even touching your lane mate with double cc and them not being overextended. You have to have the slowest reaction time to not help your teammate in a double gank. A jungle gank with 3 maybe.

If AP Alistar is somehow able to farm early on with no real amount of AP, then Tank Alistar can farm. Also getting assists in the teamfight phase.
Tank Alistar has more survivability due to the fact he has more defensive stats. Early game the difference between the two isn't that major, but after the first blue pill the difference shows.
And again, you still haven't convinced me that an AP Alistar is useful for the team. I've seen one too many AP Alistars fail hard for you telling me all this to convince me that having some damage and a heal is worth trading for invincibility in team fights.

As far as ap tanks go:
Why are we arguing about Alistar?
Ironically I'm thinking of picking him up since I want another tank, amumu is good and all, and I love me some jungle nunu, but I want a lane-tank that doesn't blow semen out his nose.
(Jungle nunu is best nunu)
As far as AP tanks go, sure ap sion is beast and can eat turrets + carries. But he gets FF'd to death.
Current champs I'm considering:
Leblanc, Alistar.
Alistar is cheaper, seems more fun, but I Leblanc seems like a sweet support that I might like.
P.S.
Renekton is easy mode. Lane with Caitlyn (there's always going to be one in a game at any given time because she's free). Buy items that don't suck. Protip: Start with doran's shield.
Item suggestions: BT, Spirit Visage(CDR?), Boots (I see lots of 'zerk greaves on him, I'm not sure I agree)
Theories: I've seen some people with gunblades to make his ult pretty sick with that spell vamp but I'm not sure this is correct. Another (worse) idea is Rylai's to make his ult fuck-rape
Also: AP Trist is best AP of all time. Just like AD annie.

AI Queue sounds sick, hopefully some players will get better (unlikely).
IP farms are infested with baddies as is (how can you be bad at an ip farm I don't even).
Learning to play is still tough for people.

I'm totally fucked because yes. I troll team-mates, enemies and just about anyone. I've toned down a lot on the team-mate bashing because my clan is getting pissed that I'm making randoms rage.
The people who don't listen are going to be the end of me.
When I say, "Please stop jungling, it's 30 minutes in, the team scores are like 12-13 either way etc w/e, dragon is not fucking important right now, protect/push lanes to farm and participate in team fights."

Except the stun isn't definite and magic resist can shut him down pretty easily. All in all I like the idea of him, he's just not viable enough though.

If you're playing Veigar and you're not putting the ring of your stun on the hero you want to stun and just putting them in the middle of it, expecting them to walk into it, you should stop playing Veigar.

The stun is amazing in team fights, but if you're against Jax, Tristana, or anyone else with a "flash" ability, they won't be threatened by it. And you should be dropping the ring so that they land on the edges of it initially though.
