Hyfe's guide is fine, Nasus hasn't been touched in ages (SS was made undodgeable and Sheen was buffed, that's about it.)

I like B veil over FoN for nasus for MR but either one is great.
Getting Gunblades and Spirit visages and such is not a good idea. You do your damage by staying alive during your ultimate.
DPS nasus 900 damage SS crits die really fast
Offtank nasus 700 Damage SS crits never die when ult is up

Skill order Q E E W E R (W or Q) E E then max W but make sure you have at least rank 2 in SS
Only reason to level it up is to get shorter CD for more last hits. With sheen you dont' even have to have a brain to last hit with it. Pretty much if a minion is at 50% HP you can kill it with SS

Don't use SS till it's at least level 3, it'll just push the lane and you'll feed the jungler. Save wither for their carry. Keep in mind that Nasus can 1v1 anyone with his ult but that doesn't mean he should. It's really useful for easy dragons and barons.
Summoner spells I like Ghost and Teleport but these are by no means set in stone

Also you kinda depend on SS. So if for some reason you get put against something silly like sion/panth where you won't be able to farm, request a switch. You CAN sit back and farm with your Spirit fire but then your SS will get gimped.
That's actually part of why he was buffed, too many harass champs out there, it was far too hard for Nasus to get to last hit.

You can dive like a monster with your ult, and against high-HP champs (lol chogath warmogs, vlad) it grapes them in the mouth. If someone dives you, pop it, Spirit fire, and wither them and laugh as they eat turret shots and SS's.
Beware of getting kited. Only pop ult once you're there and everyone's committed. you'll be able to survive till them because you build tanky. Don't be a noob Nasus and pop it as you run in. The counter to nasus is to slow him and avoid him during his ult. Don't let them ahve the chance, get int he middle of them. Also never underestimate the power of Spirit fire. Whoops did I say SS instead? yeah no SF. Use SS as much as you can but don't waste it if you won't get last hits.
you CAN get baron at level 11, but it's a tough fight and it depends on what kind of team you have.

Also no he can't solo it but he can tank it for his team and get an early one depending on what your team is.
Nasus is very strong. Was before his buff and even stronger now. He's incredibly fun to play. Turn on your ult, run down the middle use wither on someone, siphon strike, watch their hp bar drain about half way. Repeat.

I'd say the best melee DPS to learn with is xin and the worst is renek as of now.

Yea, Renekton is a flawed character. A melee DPS that relies on CDR when he's so slow he needs mercs. Honestly he's good powerwise, but he just really needs to have better cooldowns or better overall speed so he doesn't fall apart since he didn't get the other half of the build.
And I just played Swain again for the first time in a while, I remembered the joy of snaring a vlad right after his bloodpool and nuking him. :h:

Not so much as learning with renek as supplementing olaf experience. It's going well as of now. Also the "rammus like ulti" is p cool.
Yeah I've been experimenting with CDR boots + phantom dancer.
Also I've seen it suggested that Gunblade isn't bad on him. Spell vamp off your ulti is p. sweet. But I feel the money is spent better elsewhere
Renek just doesn't meet up to the expectations of a good melee DPS. He needs some serious modifications to be as viable as other melee DPS imo

I understand that sona gets outshadowed by janna and taric.
But cassiopeia has good ap scaling, decent spammy attacks and ok base stats.

Insanely squishy, terrible early game, close range caster with no stun/snare, can't nuke, can only 1v1 at most if fed, bad ratio on her spam move, bad ult, huge mana drain
