I figure I'd just hope for the best and pick Shen. It was horrible. Trist would just stand still autoattacking them using Heal (against Olaf and Twitch, who both had Heal as well). Still, they somehow manage to get fed, but then it was 35 minutes and they had a Tryndamere.

If you can avoid a potential loss or a potential waste of 25+ minutes, why not?
Clarity mundo and two afk's? No, I don't want to spend the next 25 minutes getting my face kicked in and not being able to do anything even if the enemy team is all horrible.

Goddamn, how many times this need to be explained? It isn't a nerf. Mana regeneration is going to be the EXACT same if you keep your same masteries and runes, it's just they took a % off the Runes + Masteries and gave it to the base regen pool of every hero. This means 3 things:
a) Lower level people can have an easier time dealing with non-mana heroes in lower level games. (Yes it matters, if they get frustrated or something, then they won't go to 30)
b) It means if you are playing a hero that uses Mana but isn't as mana intensive, you can replace your mp/5's with other runes, just like manaless casters like Vlad do. This evens the playing field between manaless casters and casters.
c) Without those runes, you're not going to have good enough mp/5 on mana intensive heroes.
Basically, nothing has changed. All you're hearing is nerf. Someone with the mp/5 runes is still going to have a pretty big advantage over someone who doesn't on a mana intensive hero. Non-mana intensive mana heroes will now have more defensive options which is a pseudo-nerf against manaless casters like Vlad (who is already bad early on).
