OMG Time is going so fast, and we are wasting our shitty lives playing games. We are gonna die, we are gonna die, we need to ask Valve and demand a refund.
That just turns those wasted hours into wasted hours and money...
Nice avatars Stripez and Exuberance... I haven't even finished the game yet... I get scared easily :gonk:
Half life 2 and scary should not be in the same sentence unless the word 'not' is in the middle. Also, Happy Birthday Half Life 2 :toot:
HL2 is a fantastic game, but it's not very replayable. [editline]08:44PM[/editline]
I remember getting it as a birthday present. I was like "What the fuck is this shit?", but after I completed it I wanted more.
I LOL'd.
HL2 came out 5 years ago? ...I feel old. D:
If you're under thirty could you please be quiet?
Before playing I was like "Wow -.-" While playing I was like "WOW! :O" After playing I was like "Wow.... :D"
So, 5 years ago to this day, Valve released Half-Life 2. How many of you can honestly say you played it on day one? I sure wish I had a PC that could play it back in 2004. Who wants to take a guess at how many sales (retail and Steam) Half-Life 2 has garnered to this day?
Played it on day 1, check my profile, proof, November 16 04
Half-Life 2 still have the graphics to be called a 2009 game.
I remember the first day it came out. I got to the bridge part where you have to turn off the forcefield and battle that gunship. It killed me, so I raged. Then I went downstairs to see my parents to see they brought a new puppy dog :D
I asked one of the EA guys what was that game about. He said: "just a zombie game, you won't like it" but I bought it anyway.
Cool story bro ^^ Like honestly xD And OBVIOUSLY the EA guy was like "lul not our game, don't buy it." Typical response from a company's competition ^______^ :D
Cool story bro ^^ Like honestly xD And OBVIOUSLY the EA guy was like "lul not our game, don't buy it." Typical response from a company's competition ^______^ :D
Isn't EA the game's distributor?
Isn't EA the game's distributor?
It was the distributor for Half Life 2, in about 2005? Or 2004? When it was sold on the XBox? But Half Life 1 I think was distributed by Sierra "Half-Life is a science fiction first-person shooter computer game series which consists of two full games, three episodic games, and three third-party made expansions, as well as a number of demos featuring exclusive content. Most games and expansions in the series were developed by Valve Corporation and published by Sierra Studios" Hooray Google for quick answers!
My uncle (Who looks shockingly similar to Freeman, believe it or not) introduced me to Half-life when I was 8. "Holy shit" I would think to myself, "I'm shooting fucking aliens and stuff!" It was such a new concept, to kill these aliens from another planet with these various weapons before they killed me. I played the shit out of it. Years later I saw a poster in Game Stop in the mall, and saw the picture of the Strider standing above the rebel soldiers. "Holy fuck" I got it for Christmas 2004 and so began my great journey. A year after that, I was browsing planethalflife.com, and noticed a link for a "mod" called "Garry's Mod 8.3b" "What the fuck is this" I thought as I looked at the picture of the bathtub with the sawblade wheels and G-Man sitting ontop with the most rediculous looking face. I downloaded it and was blown away. Soon Gmod 9 came out. On a server called "The Antlion Pit" or something like that, I was wondering what all the error things were and why lightning bolts fell from the sky and exploded in a shower of melon pieces that evaporated me when they hit me. I asked the admin and he said, "Go to facepunch" "what" "Facepunch studios, the forum for Garry's mod" I never found the super lightning melon melting rifle of doom SWEP, but I had a lot of questions about the game the entire Garry's mod community could now answer! I was called a "noob" and my threads got 1/5 ratings, but I stayed. Here I am today. Thank you Half-Life 2 for blessing (or cursing) me with the greatness that is Facepunch. Oh and happy birthday that was 3 days ago.
Happy Birthday Half Life 2!! (Three days late, I know)... The day I picked this up at Wal-Mart in August of 2007 is a day I will NEVER forget. I was so eager to get home and play it on Steam, this being the first time opening Steam since 2005. As I played it, I was truly astonished and stunned at the graphics, gameplay, physics, AI, story, sound, just everything was unbelievable! And ever since, it has changed my life. HL2 made a tremendous benchmark in gaming. It's also absolutely astounding to see how much has been done with HL2's content, all of the maps and mods created in just five years outnumbers the number of hairs on my head. :toot:
Yeah, when this first came out i played and loved it. few weeks later HALO 2 came out, i played it and i was like: Half Life 2 wins game of the year hands down.
Yeah, when this first came out i played and loved it. few weeks later HALO 2 came out, i played it and i was like: Half Life 2 wins game of the year hands down.
And it did.
I can remember never having the need to upgrade my computer. Then Half Life 2 was released and I realised how bad my computer was. Those were the days :)
I remember reading something about HL2 being leaked in PC Gamer at the time (I had played HL1 a bit) and then I only discovered HL2 in 2007. Fuck man I was 9 when this game came out.
I almost chewed on my mouse while reading your posts. Happy Birthday HL2!
I preordered it and had it day one, delay... after delay... ( the first release date was my birthday i raged)
:toot:

Happy B-Day Gordon, Now where is that beer? (On a sidenote i was guessing they might of given a HL2 hat for TF2)
SHow many of you can honestly say you played it on day one? I sure wish I had a PC that could play it back in 2004.
what? i played it on a laptop my mothers work laptop even
So 5 years ago i lost my life. :D
:toot: Happy birthday! :buddy: I only played this game 2 years ago! glad I did, got me into PC gaming.
When HL2 was first released I had a shit computer and was still completing HL. It seems wierd that even though it's 5 years old it still has polish, if you showed it to a person who hadn't heard of it the'd tell you it was released 08 time.I only completed it last year, but what a game.
Happy birthday you beautiful, easily modifiable beast of a fan base, I love you Half-Life 2! :downs: [editline]10:47PM[/editline]
