Americans speak English you tool, we just have a different vernacular
that's like saying the people in mexico who speak spanish don't actually speak spanish because their language has subtle differences from spain's spanish
[editline]10:02PM[/editline]
that source pretty much directly states that there's more variation in british english sub dialects than american english sub dialects
They both butcher the language quite a bit.

Well, I am impressed with the CoP AI sometimes. I attacked a Duty patrol because I was favoring Freedom this play through. So I kill one of their squad mates and leave to find the Monolith squad. When I come back from fast traveling with some loners, the Duty squad left. I go to loot their comrades body and they come out of the bushes from a distance and attack me. Since I'm playing Redux, I die in like 2 hits.
So, every time I reloaded my save, I always got ambushed whenever I searched the body. They never shot at me when I didn't go near the body.
TL;DR - I saw great examples of AI, but it didn't match the two bullets their little Duty brains received from my SVD.

TASTE THE RAINBOW
Oh shit cannibals.

As I lay on the ground in that loathsome bubble, waiting for death, I felt a drop of water on my face. Then another. It began to rain. I welcomed this deluge - I felt as though it was the Zone itself, cleansing my body before I passed. Like Charon, seeing a soul off to the underworld. Curiously, the rain felt extraordinarily rejuvinating. It was as though it was healing my body, and my exhaustion and fatigue began to wither away. I began to feel strong enough to stand. I opened my eyes, and sheepishly stood up. The clouds, now filling the sky, were a dark purple from the faint light of the sun, which had now set beyond the horizon. Finally, the Zone seemed to be smiling upon me. It was twilight, yet the clearing I'd stopped in was inexplicably lit by a strange glow. Looking around my immediate vicinity, the trees didn't seem so dead and lifeless anymore. In fact, the entire glade that I'd settled in seemed to have come to life. Was this bubble an oasis? I'd heard of "oases" before, but I'd never even begun to think that they existed before this strange encounter with the Zone.
The rain felt incredible, and I began to laugh. I didn't care that it could attract the local wildlife. Mutants were the last things on my mind. "Katya!" I yelled, as lightning flashed, "I will see you again! The Zone wills it! The Zone demands it!" In my sudden madness, I craned my neck towards the dark, overcast sky. Streaks of lightning stretched across the clouds like veins. I was reminded of the times when as children, Katya and I would sneak out of the house during rainstorms to frolic in the deluge. In light of these thoughts, and on a sudden, childish impulse, I held my tongue out to the rain. It was the sweetest water I'd ever tasted. Tears welled to my eyes, and I fell to my knees in awe of the Zone's blessing upon me.
Everything happens for a reason here. The Zone led me into the bubble so that I could find the Oasis. I climbed out of that repugnant hole for a reason too. While I craved to see my sister again, somehow I knew that there was more to my survival than just that. The Zone let me survive in order to fulfill something important, and I was obligated to carry out that task. The Zone willed it. The Zone demanded it. That's how things work here.
The rain subsided, and darkness settled over the dale again. I switched on my headlamp and peered into the darkness beyond the clearing. Rainwater was still trickling from the treetops, striking shimmering puddles on the ground. The clearing now seemd as lifeless as it had been before the rain. It was then that it began to dawn on me that I was still trapped in the bubble. The only stalkers who'd ever walked away from a bubble did so with the help of an artefact known as "compass." Very few even understood how to use the compass. I conlcuded that there was no way out. "How would I escape? It was impossible," I thought, "No, surely the Zone wouldn't just leave me to die after that incident." It would show me a way out. I just needed to be patient.
As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. I say bullshit. To stay in one place for any length of time in the Zone without several key things is fatal - fire, to keep the mutants away, a weapon for when curiosity overwhelms the beasts, and finally, food. I had none of these luxuries, as it was too wet to start a fire, my sidearm could hardly stop a roaming mutant, and I had nothing to satiate myself with. I could have taken solace in the fact that I still had my headlamp, but the battery wouldn't last through the morning. Needless to say, I more or less felt that I was going to die again.
I settled on climbing a large oak. Most stalkers keep their distance from the trees - the trees are...different, in the Zone. They're not like trees in the big land. The gnarly, twisted branches of a common oak seem infinitely more forboding and ominous in the Zone. The trees are not to be trusted... they... whisper. Something isn't quite right about them. Whatever it is, I had no choice but to settle in the eaves of a tree to escape from whatever might be lurking on the ground below. Resting against a large branch, I pulled a cigarette from my coat pocket and let it rest between my lips. I pulled my lighter out, and flicked it. The striker hit the flint and produced a flame. The tree shuddered.
I decided that I wasn't going to smoke that night.
Oh man, that was awesome.
Caale, where's that Stalker version?

Does anyone here want to know the tecnique of the legendary Ninja brothers?
Alright, apart from the horrible HUD, how could the graphics be improved?

I would like to try Nardonya Soljanka, but those damn Russians are to lazy to translate :kratos:
P.S. The Ninja tecnique is actually discovered by me.

What mod is that? It's for ShoC right? With CS maps?
Nervemind, It's the Narodnaya Solanka mod. I think...
Well, there is a possibility. I wonder how they pulled it off.
I hope in the next STALKER they make the AI more life-like. Reminds me of FEAR, it was the coolest shit when the replica soldiers freaked out because you had just gunned down most of their squad so they basically try to retreat firing wildly behind them or just hide in the corners.
It really kills the immersion when you have whole squads of guys just ignoring the enemy or all pointing their guns off into the distance at what always seems to be nothing.
Not even sure why I'm ranting here so I think I might just stop half way.

Well, the STALKER AI is preety decent, in my game they tend to go around hunting mutants(mostly Duty), go into anomalies (mostly Freedom), and bandits and stalkers tend to go guerilla on each other whenever somebody holds a position. I really doubt they would be scared of anything since the stalkers of the North had preety much everything thrown at them. However the combat descisions seem to be a bit crazy, like they always underestimate you or they just take a terrible fighting position.
The seconds rant is just a common glitch.
the problem for me was the lack of people, the AI is fine
Yea, that's another problem. The fact that there is far less stalkers in CoP makes Alife a bit useless.
Anyone else have the problem in SOC that causes bodies to disappear the instant they hit the ground?
Anyone else have the problem in SOC that causes bodies to disappear the instant they hit the ground?
Thats a minor bug I think, they are still there, they are just invisible, shoot the ground where they fell, if blood comes out, then he is there.
Yeah, I know, I was just wondering if there was any fix for it.
