I've been looking all over the place for a Gauss rifle... Still haven't found any. They sound epic.
Hopefully it will include bolt action rifles. [editline]09:27PM[/editline] OICW is a crazy ass block weapon. Seems more like an aircraft battery than a weapon
The scope looks like a grenade launcher or something.
The scope looks like a grenade launcher or something.
The whole thing looks like it was designed to fire grenades.

That was a test done by H&K......
I've been looking all over the place for a Gauss rifle... Still haven't found any. They sound epic.
The first time you'll find a monolithian carrying one will be in Pripyat when you get out of the underground parking lot, next time you'll see them using it at a rooftop of a building next to power block 4, and finally you should find some more of them inside the NPP and at the Northern part of the outer area.
The scope looks like a grenade launcher or something.
It fires grenades and bullets.
It fires grenades and bullets.
It was also very complicated, expensive and it weighted like 7 kilos/14 pounds when fully loaded.
Sounds like the Enfield L85 with extra bulk
Sounds like the Enfield L85 with extra bulk
It seems to be a mashup of FN2000 and a grenade launching weapon.
It seems to be a mashup of FN2000 and a grenade launching weapon.
Like the FN2000?
Like the FN2000?
Yea, only more bulkier and bigger.
Yea, only more bulkier and bigger.
And cooler looking (atleast in my opinion)
Also, does anyone think that Military will be more neutral in the next game since [sp]Strelok[/sp] preety much controls everything Ukrainian government wants to do with the Zone after his Zone research institute was formed?
Shouldn't they be keeping their facade of being hostile so that people will stay the fuck away? I mean I wouldn't want regular people to go in there and be held responsible for them walking straight into the nearest springboard.
And I don't see why anyone could possibly want an OICW? They're large, bulky and unpractical.
The tech and principles behind the design are sound, its the execution that leaves A LOT to be desired. On paper, it sounds like a really effective weapon. In practice (at least in the XM29) not so much. But at least the US military did manage to get a new specialized grenade launcher out of the program (look up the XM 25). Realistically, an OICW in the zone would be even more out of place than some of the other weapons they already have in the games. I mean, there were less than a thousand prototypes of the weapon made, and they are almost all still state side.
and hey, at least it shoots regular NATO rounds.
I've always wondered what were the exact practical problems with the gun? Could someone list the reasons? I have always wanted to know
over complicated, heavy, bulky and expensive for starters?
over complicated, heavy, bulky and expensive for starters?
need moar reasons
Someone get ready to patch Lost Alpha to 1.0005 when it's released, as it's going to be for 1.0004
God dommot both AMK 1.4 and OL 2.2 have this problem with my in game vision being blurred like i am slightly drunk, BUT IT NEVER GOES THE FUCK AWAY. happened first time in yantar in OL and army warehouses in AMK. Does anyone know anything about this? I think it's related to blowouts.
I need some protection in suit form from radiation so I can get through to the stingray crashsite by the "circus" in the first area. COP ofcourse. Don't need anything too amazing. just cheap and enough protection to get it.
SEVA suit..? Anti-rad artifacts?
protect yourself with vodka.
I've never bought or used those scientist Hazard suits, I've always gone with the SEVA and whatnot suits that protect from bullets and claws, because they just tend to be around the most hazard areas. And always will be encountered on the way there

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who reads the feature list.

I'm downloading the new CoP Reloaded Beta, the trailer shocked the hell out of me by how much it has been improved. This could turn out to be one of the best mods out there if they just focus more on polish, rather than massive amounts of content. I like some of the odd bit of features like the little light on the detector that actually is a light source in some regards. If things go along smoothly, many, definitely including me, are looking for someone who will tack on the maps from the previous stalker games and get them suited up for CoP. CoP is in fact the last game in this story arc, and it's going to be a while before the next title. It would only be right to make game that host the latest features, best engine version, and fewest bugs to get the best open-world mod someone can offer. I see a day coming when someone comes along and makes one of those mods - all the CS, SoC, and CoP maps into one big game, a huge arsenal of weapons, tolerable realism, good taste of visual art style, and open-world features out the wazoo. AMK expanded the first game tremendously with features like the dynamic event message system, where stalkers would actually report on the network about what was happening. I hope someone will step up to it.
There's a new beta? had no idea.. I use Reloaded right now, I was going to switch to Redux but I figured I'd wait until full release
The 417 is a battle rifle, the 416 is an assault rifle. The norwegian Army has swapped the aG3 against the 416 now. Also, is a sequel confirmed? Do we know any possible release dates?
From what I read (Dont remember where) STAKER 2 is going to be a trilogy aswell and it's being developed as we speak. There are rumors that the next game will feature a Zone BIGGER (has in it grew outside of chernobyl) and more factions (Countries) will be in the game. But these are just rumors (Hopefully false ones!), although the STALKER 2 being a trilogy, that's true.
