I learned a great lesson SEVA+X18=Death

Well that's pretty much it though.
They were bulky, unwieldy, heavy as hell and a price tag that'd make Bill Gates actually notice the dent in his fortune.
From what I read (Dont remember where) STAKER 2 is going to be a trilogy aswell and it's being developed as we speak.
There are rumors that the next game will feature a Zone BIGGER (has in it grew outside of chernobyl) and more factions (Countries) will be in the game.
But these are just rumors (Hopefully false ones!), although the STALKER 2 being a trilogy, that's true.
Fuck you, I wanna be a Canadian.
need moar reasons
-Weight. Compared to the M4/16 series weapons with M203 and optics, it is several pounds heavier both loaded and unloaded. Considering the overall total weight a soldier's kit should ideally have, this translates into either leaving some piece of equipment behind (a few less rations, maybe not taking that extra something) or allowing those several extra pounds of weapon be added to a soldiers overall load and therefore decrease a soldier's average effective operational range when on foot patrol or other out of vehicle activities.
-Physical Size (Bulk). This thing was HUGE. Someone posted a pic earlier in the thread of one in the hands of soldier, and it is massive. In CQB situations it proved fairly unwieldy to use or to even "holster" while pulling out a sidearm or knife. Even some of the later prototype mock ups that tried to make the weapon more compact still suffered from the weight issues.
-Field Repairs (Complexity). Field striping this thing is a nightmare. While the in some versions it was fairly easy to separate the lower block from the upper block (rifle part from GL part), actually disassembling said sections was needlessly complex. Not to mention the ways the optics interfaced with the GL. They partially fixed some of these issues in later revisions of the design, but because of the tech being used in the GL and Optics they really couldn't "fix" something that was supposed to be a feature.
-Training. Because it is such a departure from the M4/16 series they would need to totally change how training is handled, although this is an issue brought up when anyone proposes a new design that is significantly different from the M4/16 pattern. The complexity of the systems, as previously mentioned, would likely mean several extra weeks of training for everyone using it, and that means more money and time going into training programs overall.
-Price Tag. By the time they got to the last few revisions of the design they had managed to knock a few zeroes off the price tag, but at the end of the day it was still projected to be insanely expensive. Not to mention replacement parts for those times when a stray round or bit of shrapnel hits the several thousand dollar optics, completely destroying it (the optics were the most expensive part of the weapon). To go with that, the GL uses a specially designed round that can be programmed to detonate at certain times, among other things. Just producing four (size of the GL's magazine) was projected as also being very expensive.
Those are the main reasons that I can think of right now. For further reading, just google "XM29" or "OICW", there is a lot of info about the OICW program and the XM29 out there.

You know, it dawned on me that I should be able to take stuff from wounded guys on the ground. Actually, you could add a whole new layer to how you handle combat by simply adding a feature that lets you incapacitate someone by simply wounding both legs.
I wondered what if you cross and Exo Suit,Eco suit,SKAT suit, and Seva the EESS I wonder how good it would be
Help? My SoC's still freezing for long times when settings are changed, and still taking up to 10 minutes to load (It's so slow that it takes a few seconds to start A-life, when normally it takes up to 10 miliseconds)
Already updated drivers, directx, disabled antivirus guard, tried disabling steam overlay, game is patched to 1.0005, tried different optimiziations, aways used -noprefetch, etc.
Set the setting to low :P

Tried that already. It's more like an engine problem than a hardware one.
Just FYI when I get ingame after long loadings the game runs fine at great fps'ses, but when npcs load the game stutters more than normally. I used to run the game normally before I uninstalled it in March.

Have you tried NOT using -noprefetch (assuming you still have it on)?

Loading still takes as much time as with it, except the extra 20-40 seconds prefetching takes. And a little bit extra stuttering ingame without -noprefetch, as usually.
M4 Carbine versus H&K 417
They made an all out specialist weapon that was made for crawling out of the water and firing with, sitting in a muddy field all day, making it withstand dirt. Big whoop, you have a very expensive weapon that works well an dis meant for units operating in difficult terrain.
Are you telling us that every grunt should have this weapon? Why should they, the AR-15 series is perfectly capable of blowing a hole in your body in the Iraq or Afghanistan. Why should we fix what works well enough?
Also, the testers are idiots, as they didn't act liek real scientists and say "Hey, we need to put the M4 through every test", not "Test the M4 till it breaks, then ignore any other tests."

I so want that.

Rated tool, try merging both mods and come out with the best.
Eeeeehhhh How do i merge both?
Since Complete is mostly textures and basic glitch fixes, try using WinMerge and find out which files do you need to edit to fit both. It might take a while but hey, I think it'll be worth it.
Does everybody crash at the Dark Valley in SoC? It always does when I leave that room with the shitload of vodka and 2 suits.

I was just in there today. I had no problems, and i'm on the unpatched version.
You need more RAM
Okay. Thanks.

I already had 15 bottles when I got there. I swear to God my character would have passed out for a week had the game simulated drunkness that far

Well, if you want challenge then get Spartan, if you want advanced graphics and fixed bugs then get Complete.
