Woo! I fixed the huge loading times on SHoC and CoP :dance: The problem was that steam (and CoP) were running in compatibility mode by default, and I couldn't uncheck it, so I had to choose "Change settings for all users" Why did they start running in compatibility mode? Maybe a crash triggered it, maybe a steam update did it. (Wouldn't explain why it happened to non-steam CoP). What matters is that there is a fix.

The zone did it.

Can anyone tell me if there is a mod that lets you carry 50000 kilos that works with lurk?

I went back to play some Complete 2009, and I just witnessed it's broken stealth again, and it's really broken. I shot a neutral stalker a few meters from a campfire and no one noticed, and minutes later I knifed a lone military guy away from the outpost and everyone in the outpost was shooting at me. During the night. But I do like Complete 2009 ground textures and grass, I'm surely going to try them in Lurk 1.1

Go to gamedata > configs, open system.ltx with notepad, scroll down a bit, change: [code]max_weight = #[/code] To whatever, then go to gamedata > config > creatures and open actor.ltx, find: [code]max_walk_weight = #[/code] And change that to a number a bit higher than your max_weight.

I thought you also need max_item_mass to be set to the same as max_weight. That's what I read. I also heard if it's over like 1100 you can jump so high that you will gain fall damage. I set it to 1000, because I like to stockpile and sell. I like economy in games. So I'm an alien capitalist who is also a body builder.

So I'm a STALKER noob looking to get into the series. Which game, out of the three, is your personal favorite?

I figured that since SoC had been out for so long there would be alot more patches, helpful mods, and fixes.

Aside from Spartan 11:11 totally kicking my ass in the beginning, it's not as hard as i've heard. Plus i got some pretty damn good loot just taking over the fuel pump or whatever

Is there a reason my Dragonov scope is so small? Using a new install of SOC with complete 1.4.4 Also, I'm having major lag issues. I assume it's from some sort of limit for how much the game can use. Currently it's at 1.3gb total, is there a way I can increase the game's RAM... limit? Total ram usage is at 70% so I feel like I can wiggle around some. I can't play with the constant jitter. textures are at 50%.

Post system specs, disable programs that eat a buttload of memory.

I have 900mb of ram free, still. But nothing is open. Q6600 4870 512 2x2GB Game is running on a Raid On my previous install I had no problems, or atleast not this bad. Settings are the same as before. I have -noprefetch as well.

Hm... You have a preety strong computer, try enabling prefetching and come back, it should remove the stutter but make your load times longer.
