Mafia II: GTA meets Godfather meets car doors to the face

I hope Mafia II now has user saves. I hated having to survive an eight-minute long gunfight only to be blasted with pellets by some more baddies outside and then having to do it all over again.
It still has checkpoints but apparently the checkpoints are much more well placed.
It looks good, may get it.

well i have no doubt it will be a great game, but i'm just saying, i'm not treating it as canon.
Then you're a fucking moron.
So far it appears to be almost a disgrace to the die hard MAFIA fans. Sure the game would be good, but when you really compare the two games, the new one appears to be 2 steps forward 1 step back, progress is being made, but terribly.
Think of it as Fallout 3. Sure the game in it's own right was good, but as a continuation of the Fallout series, it was down right terrible.
However i'm still psyched for this game, but i am not considering it a MAFIA game, the only two things they have in common to me is the Name.
Yep, you're a moron.

It this would use Euphoria in the same way as Red Dead Redemption it would be orgasmic.
How is anyone going to be able to run this?
The ending of the first game was incredible.
Hope this lives up to it's somewhat high expectations now.

Sorry, but you are a sissy. I finished the game when I was like 12 year old, with like 15fps, I think even still using a ball mouse.
Of course I sometimes repeated the missions over and over, but it has it's charm. In some games, it's often caused by bugs and so, but in Mafia, it was mostly your fault if you screwed up.

It's requirements are probably lower than GTAIV's. Or at least I assume they are because I think the PC version is getting the most attention and will hopefully be optimized. The only really high req thing might be the building destruction but it's not as intense as like BC2 or RFG.
I'm not gonna lie, a lot of those streets in the 8 minutes of gameplay really remind me of GTA IV in their design.
Have mafia 2 the same freedom as in gta 4?
..or maybe more?
-snip-
Mafia 2 is going to have a hard time reaching the mighty high bar R* has set with their free-roam games. While I'm sure it will be great, I'm a little scared it feel underwhelming after being spoiled by games such as GTA IV and RDR.

Yeah, it's totally my fault when Paulie runs in front of me while I empty my Thompson. At least in Operation Flashpoint you had more freedom in choosing an alternate method to complete the mission if the standard ways don't work for you.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
While officially it IS canon, it's way too much of a dramatic gameplay mechanics change. They are literally taking steps backwards in my opinion when this game is compared with MAFIA I

I have no doubt in my mind though that it will be a fantastic game.

Times change so take off your rose tinted glasses and deal with it.
I hated the racing mission in Mafia.
I couldn't do it with the car physics, and arrow keys.
But damn, i loved the shit out of that game!
Nothing like lighting up cars with a thompson, and looking at all the awesome bullet holes in everything.
Ah, the good ol' days.

The ironic thing is that i am dealing with it, you just think i'm being ignorant.
also, why do you always seem to bold certain portions of my text when its pretty obvious what you're replying it?
Yes, lets argue via internet about a game that's not out yet.
isn't that what the internet's for?

I like to cover my bases.
The first Mafia game is in my opinion, better than any GTA game out at the moment.

Yeah I agree that the AI was one of the biggest issues of the game.
About time someone made a megathread
The M1911 still looks a tad too small
Not a gamebreaker or anything, but is a bit annoying to me, If you do a Mafia game, then there are two things you need to get right. Thompsons, and the Colt
I hope the story matches up with the one from the original though, it'll be hard to beat
