How long do you think it's gonna be Episode Three?

Sadly, I think it's gonna be short like the previous episodes. I want it to be long, but it's probably gonna be short.
Valve has been pissing me off latley with their lack of effort towards conforming to an industry standard engine.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the Source engine to death, but now it's old and falling behind considerably. Sure they threw on some new technologies with the Orange Box, however, nothing that most other game engines haven't already had for a few years.
When is valve going to make another cutting edge game like HL2? I know they're still the same innovative company we all love, but when are they going to get off their asses and blow our minds again? Its been what... 8... 9 years now? I think they've spent enough time patting themselves on the back and building up Steam to be some massive portal that offers deals that would have Walmart shitting bricks.
When I saw L4D2 come out I got this scary thought in my head that Valve might be trying to pull off another shitty rush-development sequel chain (like Halo, Call of Duty, Command and Conquer, ect). L4D was fucking awesome, but L4D2? Felt like they just polished the game and slapped the same price tag on it; Halo 3 all over again.
Would really like a new engine, even if they are making a lot more money building up their portal, they're loosing their title as the champs.
And on the OPs topic:

I really don't think there is any evidence (other than the huge amount of time it has taken them) that EP3 will be a full length game (like HL2). It's an episodic sequel game with an episodic price on it, it just feels like it should be a full length game because of how long it's been since EP2 came out, but that doesn't mean that was time spent towards developing EP3.
I just hope it's more of a standalone storyline, not just HL2 EP1 Part III
It better be at least 8 hours with how long they're taking for it.
I bet it's going to be short.
But I hope it'll be like HL2.

Anyways, it has to be long. Think about what would possibly take place. Introducing the Borealis, story line collision with Portal. Eli is dead. Eli knew something about GMan, is Gordon and him the only people who know? The combine is going to be pissed that you've just sealed off their portal. Listen to the late Eli and destroy the ship? Listen to to still-alive Kliner and take advantage of the technology on the ship?
Many options. Many choices Valve can make to the story. Keep in mind, Valve is a company. This is a game. They can make GMan be a magical prostitute who delivers pizzas who got kicked in the balls by Eli, leading to their downhill relationship.

alright, you enter the helicopter, you make it to the borealis, then as soon as you open the door the game ends. then we wait for hl3
I'm hoping for HL2 length, although I doubt it.

I read several posts in Wikipedia, and other gaming websites, that the producers were going to annouce something on 2009 Dec sometime. And that there is going to be 3 episodes, for Half Life 2. Then Half Life 3 then its episodes.
The problem with most people is that they look up Half Life 2 ep 3 or Hl3 on youtube. Youtube users are stupid that wanna make fun of other stupid users looking up Hl3, or... Halo 4 or 5...
Just go to Wikipedia, and find Half Life 2, and look at the expansions and/or sequals. Also Euro gamer is a good reliable source.

Lol, go to wiki idiot.
I think it will be relatively short, compared to Half-Life 2. But I want it to be longer than the last two episodes.

The thread has a winner.
I'm predicting that is will be halfway between where the length of episode 2 and half life 2 are. I don't expect it to be close to half life 2 in length at all, but considering how sadly and ridiculously long they are taking, we deserve something that is much longer than episode 2. One of the factors i see included in this though is portal 2, I expect this to be released alongside episode 3.
Also, if there isn't some type of great graphical improvement, and not just the same ol' source engine, I will not be too impressed with valve. Lastly, if I don't hear about it sometime i the next two months, I might just give up in episode 3. Valve is being ridiculously secretive with this one, I understand back when episode 2 came out, that they didn't include a trailer like they did for episode 1 mainly for the reasoning of making it so they can change things, but that was more than two years ago. At the LEAST i would like to hear a FINALIZED(not valve note either) release date.
