Aaargh, learning how to draw perfectly isometric pixel art is hard.
So I've decided to try modelling the hotel in 3Ds Max and tracing over it to see how that works.

Taking it to the point someone who can't make isometric will never find something like custom furni useful, so it depends on side to side.
Who is a pixel artist wants to have the custom furni implemented regardless of difficulty, it's normal not to want it considering custom room layout is/sounds more user-friendly, and does not require any particular skill... I guess.
Best option would be both.. Would be.

I'm a pixel artist (in the sense that i'd say i'm half-decent at it, and i used to do it a lot like 5 years ago) and honestly custom furni isn't worth the hassle. It takes too long to make (to a high standard). It's not simply making an image. You have to make furniture that fits in, has rotation stuff (mirroring the furniture doesn't work on most furniture). then you have to remake the furniture in like a 10th of the size for the 'zoomed out' room. Custom room layouts sound alright, provided they aren't too complex and look like something that would be in the actual habbo. Custom hotel view seems pointless too. No other phoenix servers do it and you only see the hotel view for like 5 seconds anyway.
TL;DR: No custom furni/hotel view please, badges and room layouts at most. It's not going to make more people join, if i went on a server and it had dire custom furni it would actually make me leave.

Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean no one else likes it.
Also, if you're good in pixel art, it shouldn't be so much of a 'hassle' to make a furni.

I don't understand why you don't want custom furni, those who won't want to make them won't be affected by the custom furni except in the respective rooms that uses them, after the system is included you are not required or forced to use them.
And about the custom hotel view, it just is a small detail.
Yet Sulake made it, why didn't they just let a black space in there if you actually really don't need it? Your point is invalid.
Plus, it makes Butterfield look more unique.
Like those stupid fake advertises that show 1000 useless features, but they do their job.

I don't want it because when/if the hotel gets popular the swarms of 12 year olds that it brings with it will cover their rooms with the custom furni, meaning i won't be able to go into a room without seeing it.
As for the hotel view, while I dont disagree, of the private servers i've been on (ones that average 600 players) they have no custom furni, no custom hotel view or anything like that. So its not like being the 'same' is a bad thing.

For a first, you have a good point, but I don't really think it will be swarmed with 12 year olds. You think it can't be swarmed like this eitherway? The compiling makes it help... unexperienced living beings not to make their custom furni, however I must admit that the thread can furthermore be spammed with "HAO 2 COMPILE" quotations of the people who can't check up on the later-existing tutorial.
But it's a little price for the possibilities that it opens to people that want and can actually do stuff.

Personally I'd rather no custom furni, or it being limited to custom posters/rugs/etc.
I'm honestly annoyed enough by all this "bling" stuff (Being a Habbo version 7 user primarily) so the less custom the better. But that's my personal opinion.

I'd personally like to make custom stuff because I'd like to make an apartment room, that being limited by the fact that this version, alike the original Habbo... Don't really have adequate furniture.
